Paora’s Brother on the Street
The guy that I originally walked down with had headed up to the bank and as I was chatting with Uati I also bumped into Paora’s brother. Paora is a Samoan guy I met years ago, still in the age that I was writing upon these pages. Meeting him at the front of Macdonald’s one day, I remember he had a blonde girl with him that was picked up by a Celica. Praising her dad as she jumped into the car, I chatted about the car and then they were finally on their way.
As Samoans are friendly, the two of us chatted whilst they were waiting for her lift and after and since then, Paora and I have said hello to each other whenever we pass each other on the street. However, as I probably have done many times before, I stopped this guy thinking it was Paora when in reality, it was his brother. Regardless, he accepted me just as well and as we chatted, two girls that were sitting down on a step just above the pavement started chatting to him.
The Two Girls on the Step
Neither of them was a good looker but as Paora made his way to the entrance of Chevy’s I was enticed into sitting down with the two girls. Somehow Tyler got into the conversation and one of the girls openly noted that she knew Tyler and that he made his way into Chevy’s at least half an hour ago. “Are you sure” I questioned, “Because I left the Catholic Club fifteen minutes ago and he was still there”. As she pledged by her word that she had seen him in there, I figured that he got a lift down with Keith.
The two girls weren’t attractive at all and if I was really drunk which I never would be, I would have given the African one a little touch of my appetite. The girl with a more repugnant temperament knew Tyler because she worked across the street from his donut shop. Later in the night, as I told Tyler I couldn’t get rid of the girl he uttered “How do you think I feel, I see her everyday at work”. Having no attractive bone on her body and being engulfed with a decent amount of fat anyway, her obnoxious character didn’t help her much either.
The other girl who was African was just as short as her counterpart only, she wasn’t fat nor skinny. Rather, the only thing that appealed to me about her was she had a nice attitude when it didn’t come to pinching guy’s asses with her deluded thoughts and the standing out of blue in her eyes, making me believe she had contacts. The craters on her bronzed face didn’t help her much and I guess she had a nice set of teeth but still, way too short and way out of my ideal or anywhere close to it.
Stuck outside with these two girls, they were trying to coax me into heading inside, into Chevy’s. Knowing that I didn’t want to go home, I also knew that I didn’t particularly want to head inside with them. Even after the repugnant one noted she would shout me in with her desperation tactics, I seemed arrogant to buckling. There the three of us sat, me feeling a little embarrassed and out of place as to what people would perceivably think upon walking past.
Sitting Where Everyone Walks Past
Here’s some guy dressed like a spaceman in fine clothes and he’s hanging out with one dog and one unimpressive sheila, what an impression on what lovely women would walk past. Two or three of the Lebs walked past, seeing me sitting on the floor as well as Wade and Salib. As Wade walked past I asked him about the gold chain I had been trying to look for in Hound Dog. As he showed it to me again, it looked much different to what I had originally assumed it to be. Nope, these chains were much chunkier and off my list of further jewelry, at least in that size.
A Face From the Work Lunch
The surprise of the night came when I noticed a familiar face walk past, dominantly from the eyes. As he also looked at me, the two of us recognized each other and as I jumped up, I thought him to be the Serbian looking guy with the blue eyes that I shared lunch conversation with when the five of us went out (Including Linh, Leroy and Matthias). His eyes gave him away as I jumped up and we greeted with a handshake.
Walking with one of his friends who went on ahead, I made sure that it was actually the guy from the work lunch. As the both of us shared conversation and my knowledge that he came from Macquarie Fields, I asked what his name was and his nationality. The name again escapes me now as you should know I’m bad with remembering names. However, I do remember that he was Italian where I could see a resemblance but more on the Mafia side, like a Latino on the loose.
In our brisk conversation he noted that he was only at Chevy’s for an hour because he had to pick up his girlfriend who worked at DCM’s. “She must be hot then” I exclaimed as he let out a little complimented smile, “You’ll have to show me a picture one day”. With that we parted ways and as he walked towards Chevy’s the two girls I was sitting with started making comments about his ass and how they wanted to eat it.
On the subject of asses, the repugnant one also noted that I had whit chalky stuff on the bottom of my pants and for the whole time I was standing up she was tempted to dust me off. Giving her the benefit of the doubt as I could see her biting her tongue, she carefully dusted me off, touching lightly as if I was a stripper asking her to put her hand down my pants and she knew you normally didn’t get that chance.
Metal Detector and Orange Juice
The girls finally persuaded me to head into Chevy’s and as they noted they could get straight in, they done so and I was left standing in line. However, as I was baffled by my illness, I showed ten dollars to the bouncer instead of my identification and it didn’t bother him as he ushered me forward to get myself checked by the metal detector. Anders was in the line seconds before me and later in the night I was also to see him dancing around up there.
Making my way up the stairs, I paid my way in and noticed the two girls standing to the side, chatting again to Paora. Wondering whether I should just walk in by myself or wait for them, I decided to wait for their company and seconds later the three of us were on our way. “Do you want something to drink” the repugnant one asked and at first I said no but since she was paying and drinks cost almost nothing, I asked for orange juice.
The girls jumped onto the dancefloor eager to dance straight away but I told them I had to work my way into the night as I wasn’t feeling too well and I was pretty much alone. As she bought me a drink, she started chatting to me over the music and my bid to escape was found but not to as great a subject. The lonely guy that I walked to Chevy’s with pulled me over as the two of us started to chat.
The repugnant one was still hanging around but soon she left on her way back to the dancefloor. Getting accustomed with this guy, we chatted for a couple of words and when he showed me some identification from his wallet out of the blue stating he worked in some foreign embassy, I was like “Alright, time to move on” and that I did.
Old Gnome Thieves on the Stairs
Making my way over to the tables near the bar, I noticed a couple of familiar faces again. Miroslav, Redd, Jaromir and the rest of the boppers were standing on the stairs, staring into the crowd of people on the dancefloor and mushing their lips together while they swung from side to side. Redd was carting around Diamond as he had been with her at the Catholic Club but as he’s supposed to be going out with Nadia still, I figure Jaromir wants her back.
Stepping up next to Miroslav, the old cliché sprouted as he turned to me and said “What’s up” raising his eyebrows and lighting up his eyes. As I molded myself into their little group the two of us started having a little chat. “Isn’t it funny how we used to go out and steal gnomes and burn people’s signs” he remarked, “And now we’re all at nightclubs”. Letting out his unique laugh I started getting into the swing of things but with my cold, I wasn’t moving around too greatly.
Joaquin Wants a Drink
From one chance meeting to another, I was tapped on the shoulder and as I looked back, I was surprised to find it was Joaquin from the Gym. Our relationship began from my simply asking if he was selling his car and from there we started seeing each other at all sorts of places and boosting our association. Standing there across the side wall where the tables were, he told me that it was his first time to Chevy’s, coming with a friend as he heard some good things.
Chatting with Joaquin along with Miroslav on occasion, I was also graced by Tino’s presence who stood right next to me a touch later in the night. Our little group were keeping up appearances as Miroslav looked like John Travolta, taking up the stairway and bopping about. “Who are you here with” Miroslav asked me as I pointed to the elevated dancefloor to where Binh and Tyler were dancing.
At times they would glance over towards our direction and although I thought they had seen me, I learnt later in the night they were completely oblivious to my presence. I also noticed Keith jump on the dancefloor beside them and hold space for a good two minutes before he was gone for the rest of the night. Tino and I chatted about Keith as he jumped on the stage and as Tino learnt that Keith was back with Tamsen he uttered “That girl’s got rocks in her head”.
Chatting again to Joaquin he asked if anyone was interested in going for a little walk to buy him a drink. Considering that I had to head to the cloak room to try my luck with stashing away my jacket, I opted to head out for him. Handing me $4 he asked for a Vodka with lemonade and as I made my descent onto the common ground I made my way to the bar and waited around.
Begging the Cloakroom Girl
Seconds later I was tapped on the shoulder by Anders and asking if he could buy my drink for me, he was all too pleased. Freeing up some of my time, I headed to the cloak room and seconds before walking up, I noticed the two white signs stating that the cloak room was full. With a distraught look on my face and an almost ghostly walk to the reception bench, the guy behind the counter let out a laugh at my foretelling expressions.
The blonde girl also let out a smile to my playful deliverance and as I slumped myself upon the reception area I looked into her beautiful blue eyes with a pleading smile to which she noted “Sorry, I can’t take anything else, we’re full”. Pleasant as she was, I played some more with her as I asked “Come on, just throw it on the floor and give me a ticket” but still she relented.
With the guy laughing next to her along with my antics I tried once more, asking “Alright, put my jacket over someone else’s and give me a ticket” but of course, she couldn’t help. Seeming sweet, I allowed her to keep her job while feeling a touch guilty and as I walked away with a smile, I headed back to Anders at the bar.
Having bought the vodka with lemonade, the two of us walked back over to where Joaquin was and as I gave him the drink, all of us started into the swing of things again. Hudson was also with Miroslav as the two of us shared some words. Informing me that he bought a new car, I was shocked to find it was an RX3 with a 12A Rotary inside, some quick beef.
Soon enough I felt in my mind like I was overstaying my welcome and knowing that I didn’t come with Miroslav but wished that I did, I headed for a brisk walk. Heading around the back and then past the dancefloor, I viewed my possibilities before heading back to the cloak room and giving it another try. Again, the girl bent her shoulders and straightened her arms as she yieldingly stretched out with a smile upon her desk.
Seeing that they could see the amusement in my persistency, the girl noticed two people heading to the cloak room and explained that if one of them took their jacket out, I would be able to put mine in. Sure enough, as a Samoan girl took out her jacket, I was allowed to have mine placed inside and giving off a resplendent smile to each other, I took my jacket off, sliding it over my shoulders and taking my ticket, I headed over to the dancefloor.
