Yolanda Joins The Table
Laid back as I also was, I was more intent on being my sarcastic self, the old me that used to pick up chicks and had the potential for the night. Tyler would begin his words of terse panorama and I would always be the one to reply sarcastically or in my artful and scintillating words. There was no care as to who was watching me, I was just being myself, looking at girls abroad, chatting away with conversation, mingling with each other and enjoying myself and my being at the Catholic Club.
Some minutes into our night the first change was triggered as a girl walked past Tyler that he knew. In his pompous gesture he lent back in his seat and screamed out her name, oblivious to her walking to some far tables. “Alright then, don’t hear me” Tyler noted to himself but it wasn’t long until this girl came back to apologize to Tyler for not hearing him. It would have been great if we could get a female to sit down with us and despite her being less than desirable to me, I made the effort to invite her to the table whilst she was standing, chatting to Tyler.
Deciding to butt into their conversation with an brazenly impertinent sense I exclaimed “I think you should sit down” and sure enough, to my sarcasm, she smiled curiously and much obeyed to my request. Now there was a lady presence upon our table and it felt good having a lady that none of us really knew and with conversation would get to know, to have her adapt to our characters. For the rest of the night until midnight Yolanda stayed with our group and chatted away with the most of us as I brought out the weird and overly immodest side of me.
Yolanda ended up being a boon to our night, not so much for her resplendency upon my mind but for being the first step up the ladder of talking to ladies with confidence. Not only did I have confidence speaking to her as per my normal shadow of myself but I did progress into immodest audacity.
Sizing Up Yolanda
Yolanda was barely eighteen years of age and coming to my chin, she was also a tad short. She didn’t possess any stunning glamour and didn’t create any blessing in the prowess of my mind but at one stage I did think that if I were drunk I would probably take her home. Nevertheless, she did have a nice personality of talking to whomever chatted to her, being resilient to jokes and being able to pull her own subtle flavor to the group.
For the first couple of minutes Tyler kept speaking to Yolanda about how some girl that Yolanda knew possibly liked Tyler. Being insistent that she ask if it were true, Tyler sounded eager for some sort of blind date with this girl. As this little conversation was going on I was tired of just looking on and listening to I thought to add a bit of my own touch to the story.
Being sarcastic as I usually am with Shawn I had a bit of a chat with Yolanda in this tone of my voice asking all the little questions. As to this later date that I am writing, I can’t remember the exact details of conversation but I do remember her telling me whereabouts she lived, her age and things like that. Being playful with her, I kept being brazen with my words with Anders looking on with a smile and Tyler doing the same but as if I was taking away some of his limelight.
Playing Gay For Laughs
Through our conversation and half an hour into our night Tyler decided to yell out “We know you’re gay Tony alright” out of the blue. Everyone in the room suddenly went quiet as the volume dropped down, able to focus down on my laughing with no embarrassment. One of the good looking girls sitting one table across from us looked back and surprisingly remarked “Is he really” to her group of friends and pretty much after that everyone got back to what they were doing.
I guess with the clothes I was wearing no one could really tell but I hoped the girl that was uncertain and spoke out done so because she had her eye on me and was now struck down of her hopeful glances. Making me feel all the more complacent in being at the Catholic Club, I felt like yelling out “I’m not Gay Jase” but it wouldn’t have had the same effect.
For the rest of the night I kept up with the notion that I was gay, continually noting it deceivingly through conversation. Yolanda was believing at one stage and as I jumped up to buy a round of drinks with the money she gave me, she was all the more believing with more alcohol in her. Another thing that I kept being forwardly sarcastic about to the point that Yolanda thought I was an idiot (Only saying that because it was her way of hiding her liking my actions) was my being gay but playing footsies with her under the table.
This was my conviviality at full satirical force, as if I were drunk and playing up. Yolanda got to liking the attention as Tyler could only place a smirk on his face, still upset that the limelight was being taken away from him. Actually, for most of the night, because I was constantly chatting away, Tyler kept quiet.
Calling Myself Bob
Later in the night Ralf even commented “Don’t you ever shut up” trying to put me down but then I gave it right back to him, noting that I was only trying to reap as much fun out of my night as I could. Ralf only said this because he’s usually the one that wants attention from women and it showed later in the night when he sat next to Yolanda as Tyler went to the toilet and starting blabbing to her.
Shawn and I looked at each other with obvious attaint to Ralf’s visible attributes. Oh yeah, through the night I also had Yolanda believing that my name was Bob and by the end of the night she was being playful as I was in acquiring my name. Despite everyone calling me Bob she kept insisting that my name wasn’t Bob, poking out her tongue flashing, as I touched under the tables to her welcoming leg that was mostly struck with an unknown occurrence.
The name thing started when I introduced myself as Bob, Anders as himself and Tyler, unchangeably himself. Through our conversation of my being gay and how I lived at Newton, meeting Tyler only two weeks ago, I kept insisting that my name was Bob to a then unfazed Yolanda. However, through the night as she started to get interested in me by my playful attitude, she started to doubt whether my name was doubt.
“There’s no way I believe your name is Bob” she uttered, “You don’t look like a Bob”. Pledging that this was indeed my name she had to cautiously believe me for a little while. Having heard my real name earlier in the night she just couldn’t remember whom I was in reality.
Shawn And The Blonde
Shawn was also at the Catholic Club and around half an hour into our night we ended up bumping into him. It happened when Tyler went to the toilet and then Yolanda followed a minute later, probably feeling that the volume of conversation had dropped because of unease and unfamiliarity. During this time Shawn made his way over and as he noted that he was in the TAB section with Ned and a couple of other mates he pulled up a chair and sat down with us for a while.
As Tyler and Yolanda made their way back Shawn noted how there was a blonde girl that continually sat with him and Ned at the tables who on occasion was the focal point of my eyes whence she sat to the opposite side of the entry doors. Being blonde and having a nice little figure, she looked the quiet type and I gazed at her with grunts and silently forced groans while she walked past.
She knew that I was looking at her walking to and from Ned to our area. However, Shawn also pointed out that her boyfriend was sitting at the table with Ned and as Shawn pointed him out I noted “So who’s the loser”. Feeling on top of my actions and more confident with my clothes and attitude I wasn’t afraid to speak out on much.
The Girl I Never Met
The girl that I was really interested in throughout the night was indeed a beautiful attraction I did notice from the start of the night. Sitting three tables into ‘The Quiet Room’ and practically being in the center of the room, she was the center of my attention as we kept catching each other’s eyes. Being tall herself and a cross between Phoenix’s hair and height as well as Sienna’s beauty and stature I did feel appeased at her looking towards my way as well.
Sitting along with two of her friends I thought it to be Lyssa’s friend Sienna for a second as she was very good looking but I soon realized that I was wrong. For the rest of the night and way into Chevy’s my eye would be on her and hers on mine but unfortunately, fate placed us next to each other so many times but did not allow the faith of our actually verbalizing. When I headed out to get the round of drinks, she was there.
When I walked around the Catholic Club, she was there. When I was at most dancing at Chevy’s, she was right there, dancing near me or right next to me. It seemed that our separation was never a tactile event in which we did adhere always in some way. Alas, at the end of the night when we did depart from Chevy’s so I did from her existence. However, her memory, her beauty and her praise granted to this body of growing confidence will be greatly remembered.
