Heading Out With Linh
The only other point I could probably muster up for Wednesday is the more vital and vigorous working for words, lunchtime. This as you might already know had been planned with Linh in whom he told me that Leroy would also be coming along. Twenty minutes before lunch was actually due I walked over to his desk just to make certain that it was on. Coughing and sounding as squeaky as I did, he told me to head to his desk when midday came around.
Sounding a bit dodgy, I gathered that Linh was trying to shift me when he wasn’t at his desk but seeming I was a couple of minutes late and Linh not being that kind of guy, I figured he would be downstairs and having a smoke out the front in anticipation. Sure enough, as I headed downstairs, my hunch was correct in which he was out the front smoking away.
Making my way to Linh, I tapped him on the back shoulder as Leroy was in the midst of speaking with two other guys I presumed came from work. As the five of us began our walk towards a lunch destination of uncertainty at the time, Leroy and I were mostly walking together. Being introduced to the other two guys, I only remembered Matthias because I thought he was the same guy that knew Jewell but I turned out to be wrong.
Meeting Matthias
Being Egyptian or somewhere along those lines, he had a dark complexion and looked the sort who was smart and mature fashioned when at clubs. Having silver rings on his fingers with black studs and a fine silver and gold necklaces, he looked the smooth young charmer who had that certain dark and appealing attitude at clubs. His hair was also short and it would be hard to note how it was styled but it seemed like he had a touch of wax or cream in his hair.
All I can say is he had that certain attitude and what surprised me is how he was courteous and well mannered as well as outspoken towards clubbing when eating. You would presume he was slimy by his heritage and appearance but from the little things he achieved in my retrospect, I figure him to be a decent guy.
Along the way to our lunch debut, we picked up another straggler which also made me intrigued at some of his fashion sense. Along with Matthias and the other Lebanese guy with an almost shaved head, dark and looking like the villain from the titanic, I figured these three to be a cut above the rest in talking the talk and walking the walk. Glancing at Linh and in some cases Leroy, you could just see that in regards to the other three, the three of us just looked plain next to them.
It was their dark skin or in this new guy’s case that looked strangely Macedonian, the striking blue eyes that look real and probably are. You could hear it in their conversations and how they always had something interesting to say and how it was different between our listening to their conversation and their listening to ours. When we were listening it would seem that Linh or Leroy were looking for something to learn from them and when they were listening to us, they were rather taking the time to be courteous and noble so as not to demean us to people not worthy of conversation.
Although there was no fine line between our conversation that would separate boring from interesting and artful from pretentious, it just seems that their conversation was more valued by the three of us than we thought ours would have been to theirs. I didn’t feel like I had to sound good when speaking in order to impress them and neither did Linh or Leroy but that’s just the way I presume the atmosphere.
Finding A Seat
The actual food court where we decided to eat I can’t remember but I do remember it was near St. James or Pitt Street’s shopping strip. Linh decided not to buy anything to eat as he had himself a big breakfast for the day and as everyone else bought hot chips and calamari or a fish burger, I bought myself fried rice and a drink for Linh. “Thanks man” Linh admitted, “I’ll have to buy you lunch one day soon”. Looking for a table to sit at was a challenge at first and because there was six of us, when a table cleared we weren’t sure if the all of us would sit there.
However, as Matthias sat himself down and bade everyone to grab a seat from neighboring desks, we done so. Being the last to possibly find a seat, Matthias pointed me to a table he had spotted, one of the last with no one around. Thankful to him and the lonely girl that gave up the spare seat, I sat myself wherever possible on the already crowded small table, between the Croatian guy and Matthias. The other Lebanese guy was sitting next to Matthias and in an anti-clockwise direction, Linh and Leroy were next in line.
Whilst everyone was eating and my having a whole lot more to digest, I sat and listened being in an unfavorable spot to speak out. In addition, I had to lean back and let out a cough every now and again as I was getting sicker so with that problematic repercussion and my getting accustomed to these people, I thought it best just to listen to their conversation. At the start of my meal I accidentally dropped my plastic fork on the ground and as there was no harm done, Matthias thought to show his amity by offering his fork.
Matthias also began conversation with me as I was almost completed with my food and as the conversation going around was about clubs he asked “So where do you go clubbing”. Explaining that I had been to Byblos, Chevy’s and anywhere interesting in the City, he noted along with the Croatian guy that they’ve been to Chevy’s. It was around this time that I found out the Croatian guy came from Macquarie Fields and Matthias came from Ingleburn.
The Croatian guy sort of reminded me of the smart German leader in Higher Learning that coaxed the younger and more baffled German guy to join their gang. As I looked at him, he didn’t have the tan and was lighter than all of us but his confident speech and the wrist and neck chains he was wearing made me believe he was just like Jean from the Taxi, classy. Matthias also thought to mention Marconi passively and how the chicks there were great looking, at no time demeaning them to pieces of meat.
Blue Eyes At The Table
Linh kept glancing over at me every now and again, giving me a smile of recognition and probably thinking I was a bit anxious. However, I didn’t feel intimidated at all sitting next to two people that I relatively didn’t know. However, as the three of them introduced themselves at the start of the venture and then they chatted with me and listened to my conversations, I found myself as relaxed as I normally am.
After our chats and finishing our food, the six of us headed back to work and standing out the front as all of them had a cigarette excluding myself, we chatted some more before it was time to head up. It was around this time that I noted the Croatian’s eyes, being blue but looking so natural that you would look at him and think “There’s something about him” but it would seem too natural or obscure.
It was probably the black lining around his blue coloring of the eyes which normally comes with those new three in one contact lenses. The lady at the optometrist tried having me put one on but I thought they would look too plain and not out there enough. Having no distinguishing line does make you stand out more and I do believe that he had those black-lined contact lenses otherwise, he just had good eyes.
Calls To Johnnie And Shawn
Heading back home on Wednesday night, there is none more to add apart from my being called almost as instantly as I entered the door. Johnnie had returned my call from the day before in which I talked with his mum and he was in bed sleeping so early. After some idle chit chat, I asked Johnnie what his plans were for the weekend and upon introducing him again to the City, Johnnie informed me that he might have to work.
Sounding well enough, Johnnie told me that he wouldn’t know until Friday if he could come out in which he would most probably head out to the Catholic Club and then Chevy’s that Friday night if he didn’t have to work. It didn’t sound likely for Johnnie to head down to the City with us and scratching some names off the list, it still doesn’t seem bad if four of us headed down.
The next person I chatted to after Johnnie was to speak with Shawn, also trying to call him the night before. This time around I mentioned the weekend and my supposed plans and asking what he thought he remarked “As long as there are plans”. Shawn seemed flustered from his prior failed weekend, trying to get the wheels rolling for something better this weekend. However, I can’t really bank on Shawn’s will to head out on Saturday night to Rogues so I should probably only be hopeful of three of us heading down for the night.
Still, even if it is three, the new trend is starting and people are bound to jump on the bandwagon and if not, others from work or other friends will make up the numbers. Shawn and I talked for a couple of minutes as well and after that conversation I basically watched television for the rest of the night before I went to sleep. As that is my Wednesday, let me now speak of the new day before sleep prevails.
Words I Overuse
Nope, tonight I’d rather relax with affable pointers instead of notching up cumbersome detail that I would rather detain for a further night. It feels good to finally be up to date with chronology and figuring that I write best when I am coming from behind, I shall only regard some finer points tonight in essence to philosophy and leave the rest to the bulky attempts of Saturday and all of Sunday. There are already some portions of today recorded in slight detail regarding shopping but yet, there is much detail worth noting. Therefore, I will get to sleep tonight with another clear mind, free from much explanation and have the weekend to worry about such.
Two points before I get to sleep tonight, the first is old bread. The argument of topic is my use and structure of words and sentences in these continuing pages. I figure that I go through stages with my commonality in words. For example, these days I tend to overuse suchlike words as ‘naïve’ ‘ostentatious’ and ‘complacency’ whereas in the past around six months ago these words wouldn’t even have existed. Just like in six months from now, I will grow tired of these words and seek new ones to replace them with greater zest.
Back in the day I used much less description and intense synonyms to my meanings but these days, it’s almost called for. Like I tried to do months ago with my data compilation project for these pages, I wanted to make a progressive chart of all the words I’d use each month, their effectiveness and their magnitude. Maybe one day I will get the chance but until then, keep a watch for the changes and try to keep up.
A Melrose Place Idea
The other thought regards my seeing a commercial for Melrose Place’s steamy love scene and grasping an idea from that. The commercial actually had two of the cast members getting it on in front of a painting smeared with different colors. The catch is that their lovemaking was smearing the paint all over the place and I figured, a little variation to this ploy for credits could be a serious work of art if not thought of already.
How great would it be to rib up in spandex material (Stuff made for rubber condoms) or if you’re crazy enough, go it naked whilst having sex on a huge canvass marked with paint. All the motions would be captured and as colors would already be painted on, your smears and extra satchels of paint all over your body that gives light to moods makes for a more memorable masterpiece. Imagine that and maybe one day, do that. Who knows, one day you’ll get rich from kinky sex…
