Lunch With the Boys
Tuesday is where I started to feel back on top of things, not as much of an earache and not so much of a clogged nose. That led me to pick up my game throughout the day and felt great when heading to lunch. Speaking of lunch, one hour before my time, I headed over to chat with Linh in which I arranged lunch with them. When 12:00 p.m. arrived, Linh and I headed down together and as he had a smoke, we waited around for Thao and Matthias to arrive.
Sure enough, the both of them popped up and as we started heading on our way, Matthias turned to me and informed me of how his Italian friend with the blue eyes had seen me at Chevy’s on Friday night. Feeling tall to the fact that he might have said some good words about my dress sense, it felt as if a new air of recognition had been achieved with Matthias. Slowly, I was integrating deeper into the depths of that group, becoming a part of them and a component of our outings.
Making our way to the food court at HMV, I decided to buy myself something from the seafood section as Linh walked over with me and bought the same. From Linh sticking around me and from his anxious impatience when Thao and Matthias didn’t show up early, I felt like he too was trying to integrate. Therefore, you could see that Thao and Matthias were together and in a way, Linh and I had coupled up, being the two new youngins to the party.
Matthias Eyes a Blonde
For the whole time that we were sitting and chowing down on our meals, Matthias had his eyes on a blonde girl with a black Beret, sitting by herself as she usually does to his knowledge. Making gestures of lewd behaviorism when she would bite upon her hotdog or drink her drink, he managed to siphon out each lecherous obscenity from her actions. Apart from his gander and being the life of the table, we talked about the weekend and the idea to head to ‘Cave’ sprung up.
During his ode to lust, my wandering eyes did check out the same blonde chick. To my liking, she was alright but I thought that he would have more taste than that. However, to his credit, she did have a good body when she jumped up and walked back on her way but from the way he presents himself in his cordial but ostentatious approach, I’d figure he’s seen tons better at clubs.
What would he be like if he knew of Lyssa, the girl I usually put on a pedestal because I know people would look at her, look at me and then tap me on the back with congratulations. Lyssa to everyone else would just be the figment of a goddess that they couldn’t touch and I know that my being acquainted with her in the past as no one else has ever had the chance, I’m always going to have the upper hand in people’s minds with this news.
While I was glancing at this blonde with the beret, I noticed that she was looking with ominous gestures almost to obscenity. She had the look of disgust on her face, as if she knew she was being watched by what she thought was some slimy meatball but just wanted to be left alone to her meal. With Matthias laughing every minute, it didn’t help her belief that we weren’t talking about her and each time I looked at her, I noticed that her eyes were either on Matthias or Thao.
Daring Them to Say Hello
When I uttered “Why don’t you go over there and say hello” having all the confidence in the world because I didn’t have to front up to the playful dare, I knew that they weren’t all that their boisterous talking was cracked up to be. Matthias turned into a timid little man when he heard my suggestion and his pick up lines although in jest didn’t make me think “Hey this guy’s a sick cunt” but it made me think “Hey, this guy’s just like me, only with better confidence and act”.
Matthias and Thao noted how they would walk up to her and ask her if she wanted to drink their coca cola or if she wanted to keep her Pepsi and the funny thing is, I came up with that line just as a joke.
An Errand to Martin Place
For the rest of the day there wasn’t much action and it was a smooth sail to the end of the day. Just to quickly note, Thalia had taken the day off as she said she would at the end of Monday. For the second portion of each day after doing the mail, I love it when I get an errand. It just relieves the tension of the second portion of my day and that last hour after doing the mail that is really left to anything.
Jana sent me out on an errand near the end of the day to deliver a document to Martin Place. Doing just that, I seemed a little lost in the mind when I headed up the wrong building and then made my correction to head just up the street and to the rightful building. Showing haste in my delivery I showed a touch more leisurely haste in getting back to work.
Deciding to head to the toilet before I entered back into the workplace I quickly bumped into Calla who was a couple of steps in front of me. Deciding to call her name out and then say hello, there wasn’t any awkward moment but because of my anxiety in past experiences, despite the freedom of chatting with no one around, she feared to stop. Heading into the toilets as Calla headed back into the offices, I sat myself down to relieve some building tenacity through the day.
David in the Toilets
It wasn’t until I was washing my hands that I noticed David in the toilet room. “Tony” he uttered in his comical way, slurring it all in one fluid and overdrawn motion. “Where have you been” I asked knowing that I hadn’t seen him around for the last couple of days, “Have you dug yourself a ditch and stayed in there for the last couple of days”. “Nope, I’ve been around, making more files for you to do” he replied to his well-pleased words.
The way our conversation started is with David asking “How are your memoirs going” right after he called out my name. Surprised at his ongoing interest, I noted how I spend four hours a night typing into it, the pages I now must endure and how I am lagging behind for four days. David seemed keenly interested as we talked on our way back to the offices, using my card to let the both of us in.
The Express Train Gamble
Embracing the all of Tuesday at work, there is not much more to note that hasn’t already been explained. Heading to the station with Najla, we parted our ways and then for the first in a while, I decided to catch the express train back home. It was on Tuesday night that I think I kept myself on that express train until I reached Macarthur Square, hoping that I could catch a train back to Campbelltown Station in time for a bus.
Peeking out the window from my comfortable seat and after a great nap, I noticed there were still heaps of people jumping off and what’s more, no badges or cops. It was almost like candy-land as the ticket gates were open but it was too late to jump off and explore the new forlornness. Rather, I headed to Macarthur Square and after waiting at the top for a minute, a train heading back to Campbelltown Station arrived.
Watching all the people walk past me to Macarthur Square including that girl I think works at HIH who reminds me of Jewell, I sat on the train, patiently waiting for it to head back to Campbelltown. However, it was taken too long and figuring that I should call my dad to pick me up I decided to jump off the train. Murphy’s Law would now play a part as the train doors closed a second after I jumped off and eyeing the doors and the security guy who closed the doors I thought “Fuck it, I’ll just call my dad to pick me up”.
That’s just what I done as I had to make my way to Greater Union as that was the only available phone in close proximity. Feeling the eyes of ticket collectors who would usually be kicking me out, I called my dad and waited outside for a couple of minutes. With his picking me up, we headed back home, I thanked him for the lift and was embraced with the new collection of food that mum had bought. As noted, she bought a new range of food including fish, the extra tub of yogurt, more cans and fresh fruit…
Yellow Shirts and a Dying Keyboard
Just some quick gestures to tie me into explanation for Wednesday. Firstly, the hunt is now on for a shirt that either has yellow arms or a design of yellow and black on the shirt in club styles. How sick would yellow look on the dancefloor yet, I haven’t seen anything with yellow in it yet. I figure that when I have my vest, this yellow shirt or long sleeve shirt will look great together.
Another thing, sounding now like a broken record, this computer keyboard is starting to become ineffective in regards to the keys. You must have heard this a thousand times but still, with all this knowledge, I still haven’t put aside money for a new cheap keyboard as I don’t see it as a necessity right now. I’ll have to wait until the keys are falling off in drones until I can consider another keyboard, this one has to die…
A Bus Driver Joke
The next quick thoughts stems back to something I remembered when coming back home two nights ago. Stale bread as it might be and granting that I might have already noted this, the effectiveness of humor bids me write of it again. Not sure of the actual day, when I was heading back from work one day, I received a sprint of comedy from a stereotypical old Chinese guy on the bus.
Not very effective with his grasp of the English language, he mumbled something to which the driver asked “Sorry, what did you say”, trying to break down his voice as best he could. What surprised me and made me laugh for most of the way home is how the Chinese guy replied back to the driver, in clear and concise English. Trying his hardest to make the driver know what he was saying, he exerted much concentration when he said “Bladbelee Shops Pliees”.
Looking content when he did say it and almost to the point as he was trying to ridicule the bus driver by overstating his Chinese accent, he made me feel like Eddie Murphy when he was doing the Chinese guys trying to imitate Americans at Macdonald’s. Widening his eyes with his finger’s Eddie uttered “One Big Mac” almost to the same effectiveness in tone and dialogue as the Chinese guy on my bus. That’s what made the whole situation so bloody hilarious and claims me to speak of it even now.
A Forgotten Bag
Just quickly, to capitalize on Wednesday without the drastic length of description, let this be another lapse to futuristic chronology at the expense of erstwhile durability. Wednesday morning began for me with my dad waking me up. Again, the alarm didn’t bother waking me as it stopped clicking to my forgetfulness the night before to wind it up.
Regardless, because I was in such a hurry again, I had my breakfast, put on my clothes and as I was heading out the door and down the street, I realized that my bag was forgotten. For almost everyday at work I’ve been taking a bag with me but seeming it was now too late to head back without missing the bus, I just kept walking on.
Jumping on the bus and then train without this burden felt pleasing but also, I was slightly concerned to my sweating at work and having no means of sprucing myself up. Having noted in prior circumstances, the whole day I was lost to oblivion, probably having something to do with my first real day after being sick and just getting used to having a clear head. For most of the day, I wasn’t very alert or attentive.
Rather, in my own little world for most of my lapsed hours abroad, I kept thinking personal thoughts. For example from Diskovery heading in and out all day with my photocopied briefs, I started reviewing my plans to get the memoirs off and rolling into a book format. Finally on the role and steady at work, I think it’s about time that I started planning for these memoirs to take effect just as I want my racer to take off. However, as good things come to those who wait, let this laptop approach the pinnacle of commensurate tidings.
Birthday Drinks Tomorrow
Man, I’m going to have to leave my Wednesday of course until tomorrow as my eyes are overly tired. The time is now 11:15 p.m. and I must dispatch to sleep thereof from these pages. Before I end these words, just some foresight into tomorrow. As yet, there have been no plans arranged for Friday out with the boys but from what I figure, I’ll just end up watching the Football game with Brisbane for the night. Tomorrow, from 3:30 p.m., the whole of the legal department is heading out to Bridie O Riley’s pub just down the street to celebrate David’s birthday.
The stripper has been called off because everyone thought David would freak out or something but it is set to be a good night. With the meeting of today bringing me closer together with the knit of the legal department, I should have an awarding time for those two to three hours spent for his birthday. I know that we have to stay there until 5:00 p.m. regardless as it is still company time but I won’t really care as Thalia, Najla, Kelsey and Delphi will be there to keep me company along with everyone else from legal that I get along with…
