Cataloging meals

I opened up the BeStreak project and asked Claude AI to begin cataloging meals so I can have a nutrition database. I want to pass it on to Cowork so that it can research meals, with ingredients as a separate catalog, and keep filling the database with reputable nutrition information.

I discovered that Cowork can work on multiple projects at the same time, so the nutrition database has been running in the background.

Where the numbers come from

It told me it had created fifteen meals. I asked where it was getting its sources from, and it led me to the USDA FoodData Central database, the official source that many other countries and health organizations use. Other countries maintain their own food composition tables as well.

So I told it to use that database. It needed an API key and gave me instructions on how to get one. Now it’s accessing a database of 300,000 meals and ingredients for me. I don’t want all 300,000. A thousand is enough to test this out with my app.
