What a paid version could look like
I’ve been using my PB Tracker app, and it works very well now. Last night I created another APK bundle with all the newest changes. It’s almost a stable version. The only things missing are ads and premium features.
If I find that the app works and people download it, I can create a paid version, maybe for $1 or something, or I could serve ads, or maybe both. You can have an ad on the page, and if people buy it, you remove the ad and add extra functionality.
The personal best tracker itself shouldn’t be touched. But if you have weight history, maybe that is limited to ten sessions, or you can only keep one week of past gym sessions, and then you have to delete some or upgrade. Maybe you can make one program, but if you want to unlock all programs, you buy the app. First of all, I need to figure out whether people would be interested.
In the next two weeks I’ll test the app and try not to make any changes, so I can make a stable build. My Google Play account got confirmed, so now all I need to do is add apps into it.
A clipboard icon and one layout retired
By 2:35 p.m. I’d made a few minor updates. One was a clipboard icon at the top of a gym session display, so that I can copy it. There were two screens that were almost identical, so I unified them and retired one layout. I also added the ability to edit notes. The pop-up now has three buttons: convert to template, edit, and delete.
Documents for the launch
In the evening I asked Claude AI for two documents. One was a PB Tracker feature profile, which lists all the features. The other was an app store listing with all the copy included.
I was quite impressed with what came out. The feature profile also told me where I should gate my app, gave me an ad placement strategy, and even suggested how much I should charge for a premium tier, with a monthly fee and a yearly fee. I think that’s quite reasonable.
The microphone works in one build only
For the rest of the evening I used DeepSeek. I noticed the microphone was not working in the APK build, but it was working in the PWA build. I integrated code changes into the manifest files. There was some minor success, but I couldn’t get it fully working.
By 1:15 a.m. I was still building APK files. One of the changes I asked for was a privacy policy, and a document for an AdMob integration guide, because I want mobile ads in my app.
