May 18, 2026. Morning until 2:00 a.m..
Fix one, break one
In the morning I was still butting my head against the same problems. I would be signed in, uninstall the app, install it again, and get the default layout. User variables would pass to the next user when I logged out and in. It was only when I cleared the cache and app data that I got a fresh version from the cloud.
By the afternoon that bug was fixed, but it created a new one where all the settings went back to default values, and inputs like target weight defaulted to nothing. It’s funny, because my programs, gym sessions and personal bests don’t reset. It’s only the settings.
Usage gone in thirty minutes
I used Opus 4.7 to try to fix the settings problem. Usage went from 50% straight to 100% within about 30 minutes, and before it even spat out the solution, it ran out. Then I had to wait three more hours.
It’s a clumsy process, but to be fair, Claude AI is the best of the bunch. It knows how to solve problems as long as it has the full picture and clear instructions on what the bug is. It finds solutions, but then it creates new problems. It’s just this endless cycle. I’ve been on this settings issue for a couple of days now, and I don’t want to move past it, because settings are important.
The twelve bug prompt
By 6:10 p.m. I had written a prompt for Opus 4.7 to work on about 12 outstanding bugs. I also asked for a tab for exercises, where you can see all the custom exercises you’ve added as well as the full list, filter by muscle group, and delete or edit custom exercise text. There was no way to delete an exercise before.
The work came back in three batches. By about 9:30 p.m. I was up to Batch C and testing on my phone. Almost everything worked. There was only one minor issue with the download button: the app doesn’t let you download from within the app; it takes you to a website.
Mobile done
Late that night I had pretty much implemented all the optimizations and bug fixes for the mobile version. I also uploaded the web app to the Firebase website, so I have a web version and an app version working from the same index file.
App Features Log: May 18, 2026

- Custom settings load again instead of defaults
- New exercises tab: full list, filter by muscle group, edit and delete custom exercises
- Web version and app version now run from the same index file
