A Shock From The Filing Cabinet

There isn’t much to report of my Friday as it was laid back due to the excitement awaiting me after work. Taking it easy, I did do a great deal of filing to which I remember receiving my largest zap yet from touching the metal filing cabinet. Stepping up onto the little stool while trotting around on the carpet prior with my shoes, when extending my finger to relieve some friction amongst my body I could actually see the electricity running from my finger and to the cabinet.

Najla was nonchalant for the whole day to which she didn’t really pay heed to my story. There is a difference to being lazy and just taking it easy for the day like I was. Firstly, taking it easy means you still work but a touch slower. Being lazy consists of sitting around and doing jack shit for the whole day, uncaring to the demands that have to be met. An example of Najla being frustratingly lazy was when she showed another flaw of hers.

Najla Won’t Answer The Door

Alike of me not liking the part of my job where I have to mingle with customers or people in regards to our business, I take a deep breath and do it anyway. Growing accustomed to greeting ‘Discovery’ at the door, I’ve also grown accustomed to Najla passing the task upon me. Najla’s alright with calling them up to have them trek over but when it comes to answering the door, she always asks if I could do it for her.

I don’t mind greeting ‘Discovery’ at the door but this time around I wanted Najla to clean up her own without falling back on me knowing I would do it. Everyone seems to think me a pushover and that’s why I always say yes instead of no to all these requests.

Najla has gotten to the sneaky point where she would place my phone extension (Depending where I was sitting on the day) on her invoice so that they would call my phone from the hallway outside to which I would have to deal with them. However, as the phone rang this time Najla answered it and as she begged me to hand over the briefs I insisted that Najla head outside.

Najla was too lazy to answer the door as she sat tight in he chair, moaning about her not wanting to get up and looking at me with a exhausted feign so that I would buckle under pressure. It must have been two minutes after we hung up the phone that we kept saying to each other “No, you go” until I finally jumped out of the chair knowing that the guy at the door would be getting irritated by now. Najla pissed me off greatly despite her saying thanks for covering for her lazy ass.

Najla And The Briefs List

Lunch arrived for me at 1:00 p.m. and for the hour before that I was in sweet bliss with Najla having gone to lunch. No longer having to hear her whining voice, I completed some more filing as well as an update. What really pisses me off about Najla is that when reciting the brief lists yesterday I found out just how easy Najla has had it this month.

In all, we started with the same amount of briefs but as I’ve had just one vacated hearing, Najla has had them scattered across her list to which she only has eight briefs to complete and I eighteen. To add, I’ve been receiving extra updates here and there as well as all the errands which haven’t slowed me down and Najla still can’t get her act together and do some filing every now and again.

I don’t want to place myself up on a pedestal but the truth of the matter is that we’re supposed to be doing an hour of filing a day which I am achieving but I’ve now lost all faith and heart into putting away David’s filing every day. Indolence turns to shiftless harm and before you know it, Najla’s inability to lay a finger on David’s filing has caused me to think to myself “Fuck it, if she can bludge on David’s filing, there’s no way I’m going to be working twice as hard to satisfy everyone”.

After all, I sit there for two hours doing the filing, getting David’s filing down only to watch it pile back up again because Najla didn’t bother doing her share. If the both of us were evenly working on filing, Najla wouldn’t be ten briefs ahead of schedule and we’d be on par with David’s filing as well as the briefs. The only thing Najla seems to do at work is creating briefs and updates when best she can.

It will be interesting to see what Najla achieves in the week or two that she will have off waiting for the new briefs to arrive. My premonition is that she’ll slow down her production of briefs from this month’s list to a laggard one per day, prolonging the need for her to get stuck into filing. In addition, this will create less full days for her to get off her ass, making an illusion that she’s working hard when really she’s spending the whole day on one brief, working ever so slow so that she doesn’t have to worry about filing.

When Najla is finished this month’s briefs I also predict that she’ll start immediately upon next month’s list and linger in the same way until Joselyn’s filing is just as high as the filing box which they are all supposed to be inside. Najla is a mess, moreso with what she hasn’t achieved at work.

Teriyaki And Sunshine

With lunch arriving, I couldn’t wait to get out of the office and into the sunshine of the day. Under the fickle weathering of the day, I headed to Wynyard Station where I bought myself chicken teriyaki and with that I caught a train and headed to Circular Quay. Making my brisk walk to the park, I noticed that the sun had definitely brought out the colors and beautiful shades of people. For instance, I saw a stereotypical blonde who had Levis Jeans on and a black top that accentuated her hair as well as her well rounded boobs and skinny torso.

What grabbed my attention and bid me to look directly at her marvelously clad breasts was how her slightly tight shirt said ‘Melbourne’ on it in white block letters across the boobs. There were also two women in the little park where I sat to which I was basking upon their beauty whilst eating my food. Enjoying both divine views, I sat enchanted, knowing that my Black Fly’s Sunglasses would have come in handy. When my meal was over in such a hurry, I headed down past the wharves where I started thinking about taking a small boat cruise for my lunch break.

Noticing that they had ferry rides from Circular Quay to Darling Harbor, I thought this would be a great node for relaxation and gave it some thought as I headed back to the station refreshed. Passing so many beautiful women I came up with an almost poetically apt line to which I would say in sarcasm to such beloved curves. “Come my concubines, let us hence” I would dare speak to women in the days of old and in my unpredictable mood of old charisma, let us hence indeed…

Esme’s Last Day

Through the second half of the day I spent some time in the kitchen to which I chatted with Jonas lightly upon his indoor cricket debut some time that weekend. Another person that I talked to through the day was Esme to which it was her last day at work. Heading over to our section she asked if I would like to join her for her farewell outing after work. “Are you going to City Hotel are you” I asked hoping that I could hit the two birds with the one stone but she was heading up to another Irish Pub. “Yeah sure, I’ll be there”

I noted doubtfully, knowing that I would most probably head to the City Hotel if anywhere and caring not to tell her the details of such treachery. Nevertheless, if anyone was being treacherous then I wasn’t alone in my ploy and rather, helped along into a deeper hole by another. While Esme’s birthday card was making the rounds and as Najla was writing her little notes down, she whispered how she didn’t want to head to Esme’s farewell party having other important things to do. I’m not too sure what I wrote on Esme’s card for farewell but I do remember signing it ‘Legal Tony’.

Slipping Out Early

With the day coming to an end and the last half an hour after the outgoing mail being a bludge, my attitude had really picked up. However, I thought it to be a bit rude to salute Esme on her farewell by slipping through the back exit in our departure. Najla was insistent on heading out a couple of minutes earlier for our Friday, knowing that her intentions were to avoid Esme as much as possible to which it just would have been easier wishing her a great time an then explaining why we couldn’t be part of a group.

Najla coaxed me into being that extra scapegoat to her misdemeanor as she needed someone else to leave early with her so she wouldn’t look as bad. When heading through the hall to the doors and saying goodbye to Esme, her surprised face said it all. Her facial expression was one of disbelief, knowing that we were dogging her but feeling intimidated to say “Aren’t you’s coming to my farewell with me”. With a feigned smile on her face, we waved her goodbye and didn’t feel too good about ourselves when waiting for a lift, well I didn’t.

Upon reaching downstairs I separated from Najla seeing Linh and Thao to which I was moreso embarrassed for myself seeing Esme walking past me as I headed to the City Hotel with the boys. You could see she was trying hard not to look my way but her widened eyes trying hard to keep in flow with her conversation was a telltale sign that she was dazzled by our decision, so fickle it was. However, being my fault as much as Najla’s in leaving so rudely and not having enough decency to say goodbye properly, we both cowered away and left repressed to guilt.

A Bondi Beach T-Shirt

Oh and if not so noted already, the amount of money spent in rounds for Esme was spent on a lame T-shirt which said ‘Bondi Beach’. “Look at it this way” David uttered, “We could have given you a HIH T-shirt”. Supposing that something is better than nothing, we sat around chatting for a couple of minutes and then headed back to our secluded areas to think upon the woes we would bring forth onto our disillusioned day.

More Diary To Come

This inclusion to the end of my Friday at work is all I shall account for tonight. With obvious ties to my heading to the Gym tonight weighing down the length of my entry tonight, I shall be five days behind on chronology come tomorrow but with my not having to head to the Gym until Sunday now, I am looking forward to a fuller Saturday and then a Sunday of catching up.

However, if I head to Chevy’s on Friday night and then end up visiting the Pontoon Bar on Saturday night, my entries shall once again be restricted. Nevertheless, so to is my restriction upon money to which I only have a ripe ten dollars to spend this weekend. However, knowing that I have $25 to hand over to Jett on Friday night for skirmish in the near future, I might consider postponing this idea of fixing up my racer until a later date.

If done, this extra money can not only go to my weekend but to a deposit on skirmish and other little odds and ends of my fortnight. With this surplus of money comes a surplus of time to chose but never is there created a surplus of time upon these pages that with their greater durability do make me money in the future, that I’m sure of…
