Catching Up on the Week

The night gets younger and the catering for such lengthy dramas can only get older. These eyes do tire and yet, as the sun shall rise in a few hours, I hope to have forsaken a further part of chronology. It’s looking as if I won’t even be able to depict Friday night let alone the rest of the weekend, how sad that chain of events will be. As these eyes do tire so, I shall wish myself onto great depiction before I sleep tonight. For that, let me begin…

Consuming the inauguration of Wednesday, I woke myself up a tad later than my 6:00 a.m. starts, had a shower and prepared myself in the usual fashion. Being the middle of the week and one night before my getting paid I was calm in my easing towards the slight pressures of work. Wednesday at work was just a continuance of my will not to exceed in too much action that might make me suffer as I am now in these pages. On the train I did catch some sleep and collecting the mail from downstairs I only chatted lightly with Aleka.

Seemingly, from the day since our having lunch, I have been less constructive with conversation. This seems to happen because each time I walk into the mailroom I try too hard in trying to say something interesting or witty but never do. Feeling a touch intimidated by everyone else in the mailroom I can’t cut loose as I do when we are alone. With the mail received I made my way upstairs and spent the rest of the day collaborating mostly with briefs.

It seems that for the last few days at work I have been sending out briefs to be photocopied with less frequency as well as using the photocopier less. Instead, the mail and mostly constructing briefs is on my mind as well as the occasional errand that I am set out on. The basis of my Wednesday conversation started with the usual chats with Najla throughout our day of sarcasm and witty conversation. Speaking thoroughly in these next paragraphs about points of contact and conversation, Kelsey was an interesting discovery of interests today.

Kelsey and Zenia

Through the day Kelsey found opportunities to chat with me and for the last couple of days we have been greeting each other in the mornings and speaking with one another when best we get a chance. Usually being at court she isn’t at work too often but I find now that she makes an effort to communicate with me. As I would have already mentioned, Zenia was also a great exception to my rule.

Zenia was continually making her way over to Kelsey’s desk and I just love looking over, seeing her beautiful locks from behind the masking desk of mine. At the end of the day Zenia was walking around the hallways and as I passed her I wasn’t sure exactly how to react. How strange it is that I know her name but have never asked anyone nor had a conversation with her yet, we both look as if the need is there.

When we did pass on Wednesday afternoon she let out a quaint smile. Opening half of her lip in an awkward attempt at a passing smile, she was probably thinking in her mind “Should I smile” and as she did she changed her mind halfway through and got stuck. Normally it would look goofy but on her it just looked cute, the eyes glancing unknowingly into mine, not sure if I was giving her a smile or not. Days do pass and it won’t be long until the two of us share words.

A Rush Brief for Joselyn

Joselyn also came to me through the beginning of the day. Whilst the incoming mail was almost complete I was asked if I could put a brief together for Joselyn which had a sense of urgency about it. Unable to disappoint I took the opportunity to flaunt my ability and keen forsythe to excel at work despite my already being loaded with work. Filing was ever increasing and we wear worse with David’s filing.

Basically, Najla and I cringe whenever a heap of mail heads into David’s pile as we know we’ll be practically getting the whole lot back for filing at the end of the day. The other solicitors have the decency of filing most of the files they have in their room, David is just loopy. Anyway, photocopying that file for Joselyn I put it together in a book and after an hour the whole ordeal was complete. Handing the newly created brief to Joselyn which was a common law file she thanked me gratefully and then I was back to my business.

Trusted With Errands

Near the end of the day Jana also gave us a brief to complete, moreover, a brief update. As I am regarded as the senior between Najla and I, people see me as having wings of independence and competence within my job. Because I showed I could be trusted with people’s faith, I am constantly being asked to head out for errands and I’m the one who is given an urgent task to accomplish.

Najla hasn’t received anything of urgency in her favor and I’m not sure when she’ll earn the trust with her competence but I’m not complaining. The second brief update didn’t take me too long to accomplish for Jana as she handed it back to me so that I could post it. In the final minutes of the day I was given a third task to complete, another brief. This time around David dumped it upon me and asked if it could be concluded.

“Sure David” I uttered as he told me it had to be completed and sent off by Thursday. This was all in the remaining minutes of the day so obviously I would rather have stuck with my filing than begin upon the early stages of a brief. Besides, the outgoing mail which was started at 3:30 p.m. didn’t get finished until 4:30 p.m. and that pretty much took our whole day to the border.

Linh Meets Najla

Through the day I also got to speak to Linh whilst I was getting a brief photocopied in the kitchen area. Najla also made her way over to the photocopier as we were both completing the files in which Kelsey had given to us, to be completed by Thursday. Linh and I got to talking and as Najla was removing staples Linh sounded keen on including her within conversation. “What’s her name” he asked me finishing upon his last sentence.

As I noted her name he called out her name and after an awkward couple of seconds in which he spoke lacking a touch of confidence they started a small conversation. Linh was acting like he had some sort of thing for Najla but it confuses me to think that he has a woman already. Najla and Linh got along well in conversation, their initiation. You could tell by Linh’s body language of keen interest that it was his turn to open up a Christmas present under the tree, pure joy.

Remaining his cool and composed self I left them for a couple of seconds as I had to answer the phone at work, I left them to their own devices. Jonas was another person I chatted with in the day, once again at the photocopier. Constructive progress was the fad in our conversation and I’m not too sure what we chatted about but it was worthwhile.

The Photocopier Fights Back

Some news to remember, in the morning I found that our normal photocopier in the kitchen was out of order. Waiting upon someone to come and fix it for the day I headed to the other kitchen near where Linh works which was basically the same model printer. As I belted away pages through this photocopier I came across a paper jam in the last couple of pages from the file that Joselyn asked me to complete. Opening up the photocopier I emptied out all the trays but still it was reporting a paper jam.

Najla also made her way down to the printer in a bid to photocopy but even as she also looked like she knew what she was doing, we had no such luck. Therefore, with my photocopying complete and with no success, we left behind the broken contraption and finished upon our little photocopier in legal. Ironically, when our photocopier got fixed it was Najla who created the next paper jam that would put our printer out of use for a couple more hours.

With the day coming to an end I was glad that my day of shopping was coming closer. Running myself through a mental picture of what I was going to buy and how far I could stretch my dollar, I started craving for my paycheck. Besides that, at 4:30 p.m. Jana left work as she had to head out for a doctor’s appointment. This I think was around the time that I headed to the toilet and when I did come back from the toilet was when David slapped me down with another brief.

The Man With the Zany Ties

Before I go, I must also note too that the guy in workers compensation who wears zany ties and is ‘out there’ chatted a few words over the barrier today. It seems that he’s friends with Blythe as he always heads over to chat with her. This time around he asked if we had any envelopes for him, sounding like a geek as he politely asked for our assistance. He’s the one that dresses quaintly in colorful clothes and puts on the persona that he’s fashionable with slick hair and trendy clothes.

Despite this little mental picture I have drawn I must also note that my eyes are extremely tired now and I must get myself to sleep. The time has arrived to 3:10 a.m. and I know that sleep is in the books badly. I’m almost about to drop off but luckily I got the chance to squeeze off Wednesday’s workday. I’m getting a touch closer to catching up with chronology but I know that after Sunday night I will still be accountable for many nights derived of chronology. Anyway, heaps tired, must sleep, sorry for such short ending…
