Bickering And Secrets
The excitement after an expeditious shopping adventure has with its climatic recap, let most of the air out of complacency’s bag. This day may be far from the enigmatic anniversary of yesterday but the two minute conversation with Lyssa tonight that led to bickering and then abrupt hang-up has all the characteristics of a choleric female I know as Lyssa. In addition to all this letting out of the bag, Imad tonight decided to reveal some important secrets that could stem one relationship apart.
In addition, Jett seems to be following suit as he also wants to separate Keith and Tamsen in which I saw Keith today for lunch. More problems today arose with the conjunctivitis in my right eye, the prolonged delay to catch a train to the City and this problematic cold that had almost seem me stay home and miss all the chaos today.
Shopping At Gas Station
You know the old adage ‘Clothes just aren’t the same when you bring them home’. Well, I felt ripped when bringing home my collection of goodies from the City today. The shopping lasted no more than half an hour in which I didn’t try on any of the items I had just taken off lay-by expecting them to be the same as what I had bought. Placing the small sized Gas Station vest on lay-by I bought the $323 worth of clothes in which before I also bought the ‘Guess’ shoes from ‘Giallo’.
In this store was a Spanish looking lady with large breasts and she had one of those shirts on that was across her breasts but was lower on one side than on the other, almost revealing her massive nipple. Beside the point, taking my selected fashion to the train, I sat myself down with three full bags, barely able to squeeze them under the seat. Usually I would feel proud of myself for such a good job at shopping but somehow, with this load of clothes, the shine seemed to be wearing off.
The complacency had vanished in which I didn’t even check out the clothes on the way home, I only slept my pretty little head against the cold window. Being only half an hour over time as I caught the 7:00 p.m. bus I arrived home fifteen minutes later and after beginning on this computer and some quick calculations regarding money, I started checking out my clothes.
Trying On The Haul
Before the fun was even supposed to begin, I realized that I was five dollars short in the amount of money that I had and trying to retrace my steps, I figured that I must have lost it somewhere, it fell out of my pocket maybe. Five dollars isn’t really much money but it was to be my Gym money or possible money for the weekend, now lost to oblivion. Disregarding my slight ill-fate I tried on what was to be the first article of clothing after taking off the tabs, the Guess shoes.
Knowing that I didn’t really have any clothes to go with these shoes as yet, I was hoping that they would suit my Adidas pants but they were far from it. The shoes seemed a one-off in which I will now be looking for something that will go with them so that in reality is a wasted amount of money for now as I will be chasing up more clothes to suit them. From there I tried on a set of pants from Gas Station which upon putting on thought they were groovy.
However, I also thought they were my work pants until I tried on the other pants I’d bought. The first pants that I had tried on looked a little too groovy for work but not groovy enough for clubs and I thought to myself at the time “Hey, these might be good to take out to a club one night”. Nevertheless, the other pants resembled nothing I liked at all and after reading the labels scrupulously I found my hunch to be correct.
The downhill slide began around the time that I realized my work pants were nothing that I first imagined and as they were made out of wool, they started making me sweat lightly already. At one stage I thought that I would wear both sets of pants to work instead of out to clubs but I saw a slight reason to smile after trying on the slim-line jacket.
Although the jacket didn’t fit as I remembered and bore no pockets, I thought along with the polyester pants for clubbing and the black Sketchers shoes, they looked decent to a point of smart casual. Therefore, I gained some satisfaction knowing that I would probably wear these clothes out to watch a movie or just at some lounging session in the City where I want to look good, but not too extravagant.
Looking Back At Yesterday
Still, I am disheartened at how I have nothing special for work or for clubbing and after spending all this money and effort, I have much less than expected to show for it. Mutiny has robbed such cast premonitions where I didn’t adequately know to what effect I would be hit with depleted complacency. Now I sit in my room, typing upon these pages without the huge headache that was building last night. My sleep was good but complications did arise in the morning. Nevertheless, before I speak of all the rapturous news I’ve heard today and of all the hopeful recants of life, I will speak of yesterday…
As I probably would have judged last night, there wasn’t much doing between the early morning and the time before I headed out to lunch. In the morning, I woke up as per normal, the persistency of my cold ever so prominent. Heading to the toilet to blow my nose extensively, I had a warming shower in which I sat down and relaxed, hoping it wouldn’t get any worse through the day. Grabbing something to eat and readying myself, I felt like shit but still, I had to head for work.
There was no problem with the bus or the train to the City in which I slept on it for the most of my ride. Upon reaching work before Najla, I picked up the mail which to my surprise, I was told that there was none prepared. “Are you sure there’s no mail for Legal” I asked and soon enough they started piling up a bag for me with letters from different sections. Not sure as to whether I should thank them for a bigger workload or not, I headed upstairs and greeted Najla.
This time around there was no confusion as to who was having lunch when. However, as I knew that Linh was having lunch at midday with Leroy (The Italian guy) I knew this would be the time that I would be heading out. With the problem of lunch settled, the both of us began on mail as usual and whence it was finished at 10:00 a.m. the both of us began upon a regular routine now of trying to complete as much briefs before lunch time arrived.
When Najla is at lunch I usually do filing or an odd job that needs doing and when we’re both back from lunch and we’re upon the second half of the day we try for more filing or one more brief before combined efforts at outgoing mail. For the last hour or the day we divert either back to filing, sending out files to get photocopied or putting together a brief.
Errand Boy Again
Usually I get sent out in the second portion of the day which is always a bonus but as I did get sent out later in the day by Jana, I didn’t find it too appealing. There are times where I’m glad that Najla has no clue or confidence in herself when it comes to errands. Being dominantly content with doing errands, I also have the set confidence within me that sees me getting the job done quickly, efficiently and in the smallest amount of time whilst still looking like a sick cunt.
I also like heading out on errands as it gets me out of the office and into the sparkling sun. However, there are days like yesterday where you’re sick and the winds are furiously notching up some flying pedestrians outside and in those times I wish to myself “Why can’t Najla do it, why does she always seem to think that I’ll always do it first and foremost”.
I guess I am partly to blame because I took charge of errands at the earlier stages of our starting work, figuring that I was more accustomed to running errands and Najla was still teething and anxious. However, now that her teething is over, she won’t submit herself to wean from such insecurities and after her one hour blunder today in which I figured she purposefully took her time to stay away from the office and work, I can see why I am always the first to put my hand up.
Resultant to my taking responsibilities today, I not only had to suffer the cold winds blowing hard outside like a wind-tunnel so close to water but a headache began to emerge from such coldness. For the whole way up there and back to work I was cussing at the weather and my having to head out as Najla was predominated by work and her deciding to brush errands upon me. Because I already had a cold, my once warm forehead had changed to an estranged frigidness. When back at work the warmth created a couple of tussles with the bathroom in which I blew my nose like a trumpet.
From that errand and also from my prolonged exposure to the heavy winds at lunch, I started to get a slight headache. It was this slight headache that built in proportion into what made me head to sleep so early and tired on Wednesday night. It came to the point where I was lying in bed with my head resting on the pillow, watching television and sensing my eyes closing. I knew that if I closed my eyes I would get to sleep straight away and therefore I wrote a paragraph or two and then done what rest desired.
Freezing Trip Home
On the train home it started to get worse as I caught a normal train and didn’t get to sit near a window for sleep at all. This caused me to do my old tricks in closing my eyes and trying to get some sleep whilst keeping my head upright. Not causing the usual head drops to the back as usual, I didn’t sleep very well and that didn’t contribute to my growing headache. When back in Campbelltown the walk towards the bus-stops was too disastrous to even think about so I headed to the shop on Queen Street which sold pumpkin.
However, seeming the pumpkin was so small, I bought a chico roll of some sort and warmed up my dry throat with such taste. Waiting at the bus-stop was torture as it acted like a wind tunnel in which I copped the most of it. Constantly, I was so cold in the face and everywhere else that I was shivering noticeably until the bus came and even that didn’t grant me warm up immediately. The brisk job back home wasn’t any better and once home, the heater was my only savior for such a cruel day.
