Window Shopping For Glasses

Oh yeah, that’s what I done for lunch. As it was raining profusely and with Thalia back at work, I decided to borrow her umbrella and head out shopping. Knowing that I wanted to check out some fashionable glasses, I walked past a trend setting glasses shop to try out some frames I had seen on a poster sized advertisement of theirs. Suave and distinguished as the place was I held my own as the guy opened up what I gathered to be the most expensive glasses rack, the one I wanted to peruse through.

All the glasses that I tried on were clear lens with black frames that I thought would be perfect for that smart look at work. Unfortunately, the smart look came at a dear price in which the glasses I adored made my Calvin Klein were worth $320 after a discount. Yes, that is a fair bit of money and now I have to ask myself “Do I want to pay a large amount of money just for a name” because the glasses were made out of plastic and so were the lenses, Perspex at most.

Taking some pamphlets regarding contact lenses and finding that a permanent pair will cost me around $350, I was also intent on that necessary accessory to fashion. Walking out that door I knew that the glasses and the contact lenses would one day be mine, not too early but one day.

Women’s Shoes And A Puff Jacket

Another shop that I visited was to check out the shoe shop right across from Gas Station that stocked a mad designed shoe that I wanted. Walking into the shop now known as Giallo that sold practically only women’s shoes I didn’t feel discomforted at all. Rather, pointing at the shoes I asked the lady if they could be unisex and as she agreed with me I had her bring out a size nine shoe for me.

Advising me that this was her largest size I didn’t think that I would fit into it but low and behold, a perfect fit and great look. Adoring the shoes that were cross between workout shoes and club shoes, I decided not to pass the opportunity of placing the on lay-by. Despite the lady telling me that they were the last pair in size nine, I decided to buy them because I knew I wanted them for my collection.

It’s funny how back in the day I only used to have one pair of shoes to my name (Two if I was lucky) and now like a woman, I can’t get enough of shoe shopping. Already I have my work shoes, club shoes, worn down sneakers, old club shoes and those brand new work shoes bought ages ago that killed my hell and have only been worn once. Now I will have some more fancy joggers to my collection and the fun doesn’t stop there.

With some time left on my hands I headed into Gas Station to try on some of their threads. Finding the puff jacket most desirable in the small amount of time I had I tried on a small which hugged me too tight and then a medium before I had to leave back for work. Vowing that I would also return for the puff jacket which was running out of their stock I headed back to work, buying some sushi on the way and eating it once at work.

Train Talk With Shawn

Getting back to the dramas of the train, conversation touched a lot of bases, let me include some in these pages. Speaking of conversations with certain friends is like continually photocopying an original just with different colored pages. You’ll most probably have heard these fables somewhere before in these pages but not quite to the same efficacy that holds here. Some new information, Shawn told me about his heading to trivia on Monday night last Monday.

Asking if I was headed myself for Monday I was on the borderline but near the end of our trip I decided it would be best to head home and type away on my computer. “All week you were saying that you would come and then you turn around and say no” Shawn laughed, untroubled by y decision. On the same subject, Shawn told me how he won free drinks for himself when he was the first to jump up and answer a question.

The question being “What three words are tattooed on Denis Rodman’s arm”, the answer being “Man of Steel” or something like that. “I basically done most of the work for the night” Shawn told me. “Keith only stood there agreeing with everything I said and Tyler didn’t know what was going on”. Plans, your survival can depend on their existence and after getting a taste, I’ve now lost the battle, the passion.

Hitting myself in the head as we neared Campbelltown, we were talking about clubbing and it clicked in my mind that I forgot to collect my photos. In the big confusion when Shawn graced Najla and I the photos were forgotten. Nevertheless, I made amends as I did collect them on Tuesday morning. The doubles that I received from Tamsen were actually to take longer, maybe two or three days. This pissed me off a little but the worst was to come from their shit service. Apart from overcharging me yesterday, some photos were left out forcing me to head back for ongoing doubles and even then, one or two of them were the wrong doubles.

Ralf Tricks Shawn Into A Drive

Shawn decided also on noting about his Sunday passed with Ralf. Early in the morning, Ralf turned up to Shawn’s house with the words “Let’s go for a little drive”. Sounding all too innocent he decided to jump in the car in what should have been a small drive around Campbelltown. However, as Ralf kept Shawn from asking questions by constantly babbling, Shawn started to get anxious as they headed onto the highway towards the City. “Where are we headed”

Shawn asked quizzically as Ralf replied “Oh I thought we’d take my car to the city just to test it out on the roads”. If Shawn knew that they were headed to the City he probably wouldn’t have decided upon sticking around to hear Ralf babbling on. Therefore, the truth about Ralf needing to deceive you into heading out with him is true and Shawn was suckered. If Ralf tried one of those tricks on me I wouldn’t be gullible enough to lay open to his susceptible tricks.

Ralf wouldn’t test me as he does with Shawn as I am more of a contradicting voice when situations occur and sometimes I can be less bearable than Ralf at my worst. Driving through the Glebe Island Bridge and through the tunnel, the both of them decided upon watching ‘The Mummy’. Not sure on the actual location but I figure they parked the car in the City and headed to the Cinemas on George Street.

Plans For The Weekend

Chat about Keith and his relationship with Tamsen soon emerged and our opinions also spurt above the concealing water of thought. I mentioned my philosophy upon the subject, the beliefs written prior in these pages and listened as Shawn shared his views. Through this our opinionated views changed to speaking and planning for the weekend. Uncertain on where we wanted to head, I knew that I wanted to head to the City and for the third or fourth week in a row, surely our plans couldn’t stuff up.

However, I was inclined to note that we shouldn’t call Keith or think of inviting him out as he would only ruin it and be preoccupied with his hopeless antics to desperate love. When back in Campbelltown Shawn and I waited around chatting for a little while longer as he waited for his sister to jump off the bus. Knowing that she would be receiving a lift he waited for his dad to come down to the station instead of ringing up.

In this time I headed up to catch my bus in the rain and soon enough, it did arrive. Jogging back to my house in what was blissful rain at the time, the uncertainty of the weekend and obscurity of the future played a slight admittance in my contrite downturn to thought.
