Thursdays At Work
Unsure on the exact carbon copy of Thursday morning, I can only gather that I had a decent sleep and then woke myself up early for work. There was no rain as yet outside and it didn’t look like it was going to erupt but near the end of the day the rain did pelt down again in the City. Regardless of that, I got myself dressed, caught my bus and then my train to work for Thursday.
Figuring that I was now just one more week from getting paid I reveled on the fact that the fortnight’s seemed to roll by so fast. Already I have bought plenty of clothing from my list and these last three payments on paper only seem so far away. Thursday’s always create a spring in my day but they aren’t too sprung forth from any other working day. No day of mine at work differs too greatly.
Monday’s aren’t as lethal as they used to be, Friday’s don’t derive too much pleasure, Thursday’s cause a touch of celebration and each day between that doesn’t seem its monotonous self. Each day is different at work but they are all held together in a reasonably common festivity. Monday’s might have a touch of displeasure because they are the start of a working way but I just see it as the start of a continual progression to my getting paid. Once I am paid I am happy but I never overdo any given situation, loathed or loved may it seem to be…
Dodging Calla In The Kitchen
Vague as deceptive these thoughts will be, I will try and remunerate memories with effort of remembrance. Unsure of the times on Thursday, I do remember having a chat to Jonas near the start of the morning. For some reason I was heading through the kitchen and as him and Calla were at the photocopier chatting, I just walked past the both of them almost saying nothing. Calla was out of sight around the corner and being my quiet self in my stern appearance, I wasn’t going to say anything.
However, the surprise of Calla being around the corner and her saying “Hello” bid me to do the same and that was it as I headed back to my section. Later in the day when I spoke to Jonas again he thought I was depressed. Obviously he would get that impression if I’m moping around and keeping to myself. Advising Jonas that my throat sometimes gets croaky and I don’t like speaking in those periods because it makes me anxious, he seemed to understand.
When next I talked to Jonas Calla was still in the kitchen but with her back to us as she was taking out staples from some correspondence on the desk. Dressed all in black and with a slick skirt that clung to her, she looked absolutely hot and as Jonas involved her in conversation, I didn’t hesitate to look over at her and adore her sumptuous body. Jonas was actually speaking about clubbing and how he doesn’t like those guys that just dress up for nightclubs. “Then you don’t like me” I remarked sarcastically where to his defense he responded “No, I don’t mean you” and continued with his explanation of what were his villainous coos.
The Group Certificate
At the start of the day upon arriving at work even before Najla, I found from Jana’s biding courtesy, my group certificate nicely wrapped in an envelope. Opening it up I found there to be $325 to claim and if I am below the threshold, I will have fun spending it. However, I still have to wait for my group certificate from Centrelink to know exactly what the effects will be.
Whatever happens, I should at least get half of that amount back counting the money the accountant will take as well as the small amount taken for being just over the threshold. Jana herself was sick as a dog on Thursday. That might actually be where I began getting that touch of my cold but it could also have been a joint venture from Najla who was also coughing.
Speaking of Najla, she didn’t frustrate me too much on Thursday as she satisfied me expectations of her doing some filing. It wasn’t until after lunch and she did say “Oh, might as well do some filing” in a menial way but all is all and she finally got some done. I was actually impressed as Joselyn’s filing was building up even higher than David’s but at the end of her venture she got it down to a considerable level, on par with David’s.
Kelsey Skips The Gym
Just before lunch, Kelsey and Zenia were considering heading down to the new Gym in the basement together. However, as Kelsey had already been down there, the trainer noted that there were no clean towels left, they were at the dry cleaners. Therefore, Kelsey was left to laugh at the outcome with Zenia as she took out a baby little black top which she was thinking of wearing down there.
Taking a glance at her black top that looked like it could fit a six year old, I could just imagine what it would have done to her contours. In the end, Kelsey and Zenia ended up heading to the kitchen where they ate their lunch and gossiped about Edith, laughing on occasion. Near the end of the day Thalia, Kelsey and I ended up talking about nightclubs. Not sure if I’ve noted this in previous entries but we spoke about the underground and how I wanted to head there.
Kelsey thought to note that she had been to the underground a couple of years back and thought it to be shifty. Kelsey noted how she usually heads to the rebel club house on Blaxland Road in Campbelltown and Thalia mentioned how she was thinking of heading up to QSB this weekend. To me, it sounded like Thalia wanted me to say “Yeah, I’ll be there too” and it would have been good if we did end up meeting but despite my willingness, we didn’t see each other on the weekend.
Lunch With Linh
For lunch I headed out at midday and to my surprise, Linh was standing outside, having a cigarette with one of his friends. Completely oblivious to him, I walked past and heard him call me back and turning around he invited me out to have lunch with him. Having nothing else to do I jumped at the opportunity as he introduced me to his Italian friend in which I can’t recall his name.
Getting along well with the both of them we ended up heading to the food court at HMV and as they bought themselves hamburgers I had a craving for fried rice with sweet and sour pork. Having it served in a plate as they brought along their wrapped burgers, I felt out of place with my suave setting and I knew they would be finished way before me.
Having lunch in the smoking section, I didn’t kick a fuss over their preference as I dug in and ate, making conversation along the way. Deciding to bring up clubbing, I asked the both of them where they thought the best club was around the City, getting mixed responses from each of them. The Italian guy thought to note that Rogues was a great club in which I have now taken favor towards his opinion.
Linh disclosed his intention to head out to a party for his Thursday night at ‘The Cave’ in which he wouldn’t get back home until very early in the morning. “Why don’t you just pack a bag, don’t sleep and just head to work in the morning” the Italian guy queried, “You could probably get changed in the Gym”. Linh didn’t know what the outcome would be but he knew he would be extremely tired for work the next day in which he was definitely coming.
Smoke At The Table
In the end of it all I opened up about my story regarding my getting fined for such a stupid reason and a little chatter about Xavier. With their finishing their meals way before me Linh lit up a cigarette and as the Italian guy asked if I smoked, to my response he remained without a cigarette. “I can’t smoke around someone who doesn’t smoke” he said, “It just makes me feel uncomfortable because I don’t know where to blow the smoke”.
“Don’t worry about it” I jested and beating on my Chest I urged, “Blow the smoke in my face, I don’t care, give it to me”. Of course, I did care but I could handle the occasional passive smoking. Linh wasn’t sure where to blow his smoke either because there were two kids to his other side but he made the strong point of noting that it was the father’s fault for bringing his kids to the smoking section in the first place.
When we were finished eating and I was fairly full we made our trek down to HMV where I picked up some more flyers for clubs and they both listened to music on the headphones. With a couple of minutes remaining we headed back to work and that was our lunch.
Birthdays In Legal
Other pointers of the day were to note that Margot had her birthday in which Jana brought around a card for all of us to sign. Not very good at these things and unable to unleash my true self, I just followed the trend of what everyone else writ down and handed the card to Najla and Esme. Jana left an hour and a half before the day was over because she was sick and that I feel bred everyone to a standstill.
Jana being the supervisor doesn’t mean she’s the big girl around the office but with David also away and Joselyn out to play, all the girls in legal did get around for a gossip session. Fearing to pass them whilst they all chatted away for an hour, I gathered they were just counting down the day and rightly so, they finished five minutes before 5:00 p.m.
Thalia came over to us later and noted that they were all chatting about how David’s birthday is in two weeks and how they’re going to arrange an exotic dancer for him. From what I heard, David’s holding his celebration at some hotel and I’m not sure on who’s going but Margot and the rest of the girls were all thinking of hiring him a stripper on company expenses.
