A Fine On The Way Home
This world is full of idiots and their bullshit and if that’s not enough, the weather has been gale-force outside adding an unpleasant odium to the general flow of humanity. Nature itself is pleasant even in these torrent days but it takes humanity to forge dreary loathing, with the bullshit that I have to put up with.
What made my day seem bad and nature the uglier of days… Well, the biggest killer to my otherwise exemplary day was my receiving a fine for jumping off the train at Campbelltown instead of Macarthur Square on my express train home. What made the situation more dreary and malleable to the declining effort of my day was the fact that I almost missed my bus, having to run all the way with one minute remaining.
In addition, I had to step off whilst he almost took off so I could find the right change and so badly, I just wanted to scream at someone for their stupidity. At work matters were made worse as I am now started to feel the displeasure or working with Najla, constantly putting of filing.
Filing And Photo Disputes
It got on my nerves all day today as she would act like Lyssa, deciding to be naïve about the situation and each time I asked her “Do you want to help me get down the filing” she would always find some excuse. In the end, I got most of the filing down as David and Jana were away so it made it easy. However, in the last fifteen minutes, Najla decided to sort out our working area by tidying up the clip holders, how lame is that. “Are you doing alright with the filing” she asked, knowing well enough that she had a horde to accomplish for Joselyn as well as her fair share of David’s.
The third depressant that makes nature seem dreary is how I was almost overcharged by the photo development place I visited today. Being charged $18 instead of $11 I normally wouldn’t kick up a fuss but simple mathematics would tell you that 22 photos costing fifty cents each for reprints couldn’t be more than $11. Therefore, I kicked up a dispute, getting angry as the guy helping me held up everyone else including my having to catch a train.
The reason why I hated nature was because I had to carry my bad thoughts and anger when I jumped off the bus and believe me, being rained upon without an umbrella is pretty depressing stuff. Did it add to my anger, you bet it did. Today was the first time I have been overly stressed at work, mostly being Najla’s doing for procrastinating and handing her fair share to me…
Heading To Chevy’s With Tyler
Continuing now from my story of Friday night, despite my irate sense of sensibility, the show must go on. The parable continues with my jumping out of Tyler’s car to head to Chevy’s for Friday night. Not certain if Tyler was keen on heading out just the two of us, for a little while it sounded like he lost his enthusiasm. When Shawn was dropping Shawn off home I kept asking Shawn if he wanted to come along.
Nearing Shawn’s house he finally commented that he would come out if I would lend him my shoes but as we ran that past Tyler he argued “Nah man, I’m not driving everywhere”. Creating some doubt as to whether Tyler was just going to consider drive home after dropping Shawn off it didn’t make sense how he didn’t care about Shawn being keen.
The way I figured, three people would have made it better, especially the three of us so you could understand my suspicions upon his request. Regardless, from Shawn’s house we did drive to Chevy’s following my constantly asking “Are we really going to head to Chevy’s or are you joking”. With Tyler it’s hard to tell whether he’s being serious or not because he jumps from moods of being cocky to being quiet to a point that you can’t tell what’s going through his mind.
Making our way up the blocked off street with the black tarpaulin erected from the gutter we noted again how Chevy’s was receiving a city facelift along with the rest of Campbelltown. Joking about how they only needed a queue line with a pole separating the people waiting in line from others. Ironically, as we neared closer we noticed a council pole standing erect with people heading into Chevy’s standing to the side of it. A touch of the city with a touch of Campbelltown mixed in.
Once paying our $7 towards the price of entering Chevy’s we were greeted by the tumultuous thumping of the speakers. The lining of the stage wasn’t crackers with people but as we paused just to the side of the floor to check out our surroundings, we were pleased. Heading to Chevy’s just with Tyler was never an issue to me and I’m sure the same optimism applied for Tyler. Never did I think that I would have a shit time once in there and thankfully, a great night was reserved for the taking.
Reunion With Lily
Tyler for most of the night had the urge to dance by himself and more or less, be an individual. Taking my yellow lens glasses I let him wear them initially for the start of the night so we could get into the mood and accustomed to our tapping feet upon the wooden dancefloor. There were a fair amount of girls walking around and being their beautiful selves and again, I gave Chevy’s a thumbs up. Right at the start of the night as I walked in I received a tap on my shoulder and my first reunion.
Being Janice’s sister and Lily (The girl in whom I helped tell off her boyfriend and hid in the closet when he knocked on Janice’s house door looking for me), the both of them looked stunned at my appearance, nay, shocked. Both were struck with my appearance and with flirtatious smiles, they both stepped forward to hug me. Sharing the rounds of conversation I learnt how Lily’s child is now one or two years old and how she again lives back in the Campbelltown area. Around this time I had lost Tyler to his obliviously continuous stroll through the pack and wanting to relocate him, we all went for a walk.
Sifting through the crowd near the bar I received another tap on my shoulder, this time it was from Jonas at work. Again he was dancing around at Chevy’s, giving me the impression that he’s there a fair lot. Exchanging words and as he again admired my choice of clothing I moved along, looking for Tyler. Being a local is a great thing because you get to bump into so many people and chat to so many people you haven’t seen for yonks.
Miroslav On The Stairs
As I made my way up to the back stairs that led to the tables near the bar I noticed a familiar face standing on the stairs, almost regally. Spying me as I walked towards him my face quickly lit up with a smile of recognition, his with a composed mercurial recognition. With Lily and Janice’s sister still behind me I walked up to whom I recognized as Miroslav and gave him a firm handshake.
Miroslav is one of those people with charisma, fun to be around, good personality, good persona and like Ricky Martin but without the loads of sex appeal that comes with such a celebrated star. Standing next to him as we chatted for a few minutes I asked him if he had seen Tyler and as we studied the crowd I was off back in search. Miroslav didn’t waver much from his absorbed attitude, abstracted with preoccupation.
That uncaring is the charisma that goes along with Miroslav and as Redd also acknowledges you but doesn’t take the time to make idle chat, he has such a character as well. Myself, I don’t care, when I see someone and they acknowledge me, I’ll be the one that asks “How are you doing” or “What have you been up to”. Maintaining a certain attitude of my own, it doesn’t stem to my chatting with my friends to whom I’m very open and approachable. I guess an attitude can’t go astray, at least for Miroslav or Redd…
A Chat With Alessia
Making my way to the back wall with both girls still I walked past Alessia, remembering that Imad had a crush on her at one stage in school. Despite my being on a trek to find Tyler and possibly noticing Johnnie I stopped to have a little chat with her. Asking me if I still talked to Imad and what I was up to (The normal chit chat) I stood around for a little while, glancing into the crowd, trying to find Tyler.
Having chatted to so many people had made me all the more comfortable and relaxed at Chevy’s. What’s more, because I was wearing such garish clothing that made me feel unique, my conscience was forever faded. Heading back towards the dancefloor I couldn’t find Tyler as yet so I started dancing around with Lily and Janice’s sister. As much as I wanted to move along and dance by myself, I felt obliged to spend some time around them.
Dancing With Lily
Picking up a few moves as the three of us danced, smiles protruded from the both of them, possibly thinking about my genitalia or some sorts along those lines. Lily looked most apt to binge upon her desires as her eyes were firmly planted on me, trying to imitate the pace I created but making a jeering spectacle of herself. I’m not one to put someone else down but because this is my diary and I tell the truth, she looked no more than what she appeared to be with her braces, glasses and twiggy body.
Janice’s sister had a bit more composure about herself but as she excused herself to head for the toilet I was looking for a back door. Figuring that Janice’s sister was trying to set up some alone time for the two of us I didn’t want to walk out of there with Lily upon my arm as she was already halfway there. Therefore, as Janice’s sister came back five minutes later I excused myself to again look for Tyler and that I did…
