A Call From Lyssa

When finally I came home I wrote in my diary and then tried to get to sleep. However, a praiseful occurrence happened at 1:30 a.m. in which Lyssa called me and a part of the burden had been lifted from my shoulders. When Lyssa called it felt like somebody cared about the problems I never revealed and as her first words were “How come you didn’t say hello to me tonight at the Catholic Club” I knew she still cared. With Lyssa’s phone call, the nervous breakdown without the nerves was deferred long enough for me to feel a bit better (Not really about myself) and get some sleep.

My conversation with Lyssa didn’t fare much different than to what is normal of our conversations. I don’t ask much questions but hold a reasonable interest in her words and Lyssa, as usual, speaks her whole and tries to get the better of the conversation. After her initial words Lyssa began with “God I hate men” and with that I knew Lyssa was trying to work around my rule of not talking about her life by making me curious enough to bite her bait.

I don’t need my friends feeding my insecurity by informing me in detail whenever they see Lyssa and I don’t need Lyssa telling me about the guys she meets. Despite this desire Lyssa decided to sidestep my request and concealing what really doesn’t need to be told. When Lyssa uttered in passing “I met some guy last week but you probably don’t want to know about that”

The Guy From Her Past

I obviously was aggravated by her disregard for my not caring but now, with this bit of intrigue served to me on a hook, I had to bite. With the thought of Keith telling me that Lyssa was with some guy at the movies about a week ago and the way she spoke, it sounded like she was going out with him. However, as I nonchalantly asked some more questions, I got to the bottom of it all.

From the beginning, Lyssa knew this guy when she was 15 years old and she liked him back then. Last week on Friday night Lyssa and him got talking at the Catholic Club in which he liked her and I guess she liked him. This would explain Keith saying to me one night in his car “Now I know why you didn’t want to go to the Catholic Club, because Lyssa was there”. Then, when Keith told me that he had seen her with a guy at the movies I started thinking that Keith had seen Lyssa getting a little too friendly with him or vice versa.

The Number in the Book

Anyway, he asked for Lyssa’s number so they could meet up at Chevy’s on Saturday night but Lyssa only said “The number’s in the book”. When Saturday arrived Lyssa told me she waited for his call but he never did. Therefore, she started to get bored and decided to ring me last Saturday. Now, I believe that the only reason Lyssa called me last week was because she was either feeling guilty or she needed to talk to me in order to see how we got along to finally make her move.

I feel that because I didn’t really speak much to Lyssa and we ended with more confusion than when we had started talking, Lyssa thought “Fuck him” and then went out and had done what she had done. Now it makes sense when Lyssa told me that night on the phone “Oh, I don’t feel like going out tonight, I might just go out with Naqi and Penelope”. In reality, Lyssa was upset that the guy didn’t call her and I was the next best thing, or on the lines anyway.

That Saturday night after our phone call Lyssa went out with Naqi and Penelope but then she went out with Penelope to Chevy’s. My belief is that it was Lyssa’s idea to head for Chevy’s and she pushed for the idea because she wanted to see the guy that night. Lyssa told me that he made the excuse that he called the wrong number in the phone book but this is blatantly showing that he had no intention of calling Lyssa.

To him, ‘I’m in the book’ represents ‘I don’t care enough for you’ and therefore, he forgot about pursuing Lyssa. I’ve seen Lyssa’s name in the phone book and there aren’t much in Leumeah so he was either lying or very stupid. To me it sounds like Lyssa was pursuing this guy more than he was of her and when they met up at Chevy’s she wouldn’t have clung onto him but she would have spent the night with him.

On that Saturday night last at Chevy’s, Lyssa got onto this unknown guy. To the extent I’m not sure but I believe it wasn’t too over the top. However, When Lyssa mentioned that all guys were only after one thing I have reason to believe that he probably went for her boobs or asked Lyssa back to his house and because she was pursuing him, she felt beaten.

Why Lyssa Rings Me

After twenty minutes of chatting Lyssa told me she had to quickly get off the phone but she would call back. The reason, Pari, Carleigh, Dax and Kiley were at the front of her house, just finished walking someone up the road. For that time I turned on the computer to check back the events of one week ago on Friday and Saturday night. I was curious as to when Lyssa had called me and when she had gone out with Penelope and to me, it sounded a little wrong.

I wanted to know if there was a reason to Lyssa having called me on Saturday night and with what Lyssa had told me, there was reason. Now I realize that Lyssa only calls me these days when there is a reason for her call. By now I have come to believe that Lyssa will call me when she likes a guy, gets onto a guy or is filled with nerves and anxiety as she is heading out to meet a guy. When Lyssa got onto Braxton we were having an argument but that night she gave me a call but I never found out why until days later.

I thought I would wizen up when next she called and I was asking myself “Why is she calling me out of the blue” but when Lyssa got onto the Spanish guy she called me again without my knowing her reason. Lyssa confides in my without actually telling me and without my knowing, that’s weird. Now I know that if Lyssa calls me out of the blue there is a strong possibility that she’s gotten onto some guy or after our phone call it’s judgment day for that event.

Whispering From Her Bedroom

Lyssa rang me half an hour later from her bedroom as everyone had crashed at her house for the night. Carleigh and Pari were sleeping in his room and Dax was sleeping with Kiley in her mum’s room. Lyssa had to whisper when talking to me and I knew that she didn’t want anyone to know that she was speaking to me on the phone. Nevertheless, I was waiting for Lyssa’s call to straiten out a couple of facts from Lyssa’s story in which I was told the full story and rightly justified already.

Minutes into our conversation Dax jumped out of bed and started throwing up in the bathroom for a fair amount of time, obviously he drank too much. In these minutes Lyssa told me how she was headed to Coogee tonight with a couple of her friends so she could party at a nightclub. Asking me what was planned for my night I had no idea but I didn’t care coming off second best.

Lyssa started to sound really tired whilst I was talking to her at 2:20 a.m. and not wanting Lyssa to drift off nigh into sleep like our last conversation I startled her into attentive repose and then asked “I’ll let you go now if you’re too tired”. “Alright then” Lyssa added in a sluggish tone and with that our conversation was over. I tried to get to sleep after that but it took me an hour or two. Lying on the floor didn’t even help me that much but eventually I drifted off to sleep.

Letters and a Booklet

There’s a couple of issues I left out regarding Friday and the ensuing night. Firstly, when I arrived home at 5:00 p.m. from the City I was famished and therefore gulped down on what food I could. Gathering my stamina I strolled into my room to find two letters on the ground, one large, one small. In the first small letter there was a letter written by Ottoline Vance Temping Agencies, which basically wished me luck with my new job.

In the second large envelope there was a booklet, which was sent to me by HIH Insurance, the new place I will be working with. Upon seeing this booklet I felt privileged, where finally I was working in a large-scale company. Flicking through the pages it defined my total salary of $20,209 a year, which didn’t include superannuation which was around $1,500. Belonging to this group made me feel exalted and gratified, hoping I will do them justice in the near future.

Tiffany’s Sister and Tyler’s Date

Secondly, whilst feeling out of place at the Catholic Club last night I noticed Tiffany’s little sister who was hanging around with friends her age. Tiffany’s little sister who I was told is 17 years old looked stunning and what’s more, for her body she was pretty matured. Granting her notoriety in my memory of gloriously radiant and beautiful women I held that thought in my mind for the night.

It came as a surprise to me when I noticed her at Macarthur Square today, still looking beautiful and with a more matured body as was not expected. Tiffany’s little sister (It sounds almost adulterated when I say that) had elated my sense of her and it had brought my respect of her to the forefront of my regard. If ever there was a chance for me to chat with her I would take up the chance but I would make sure that this confidence-lacking attitude was out the door beforehand…

Thirdly, if not already stated, Tyler supposedly is in some very good contention for an explicitly hot girlfriend, as said by Keith himself. For the past two days Keith has kept babbling about how Tyler was going on a date today with a 17 year old girl from his College class. What’s more, she was the hottest blonde he had ever seen with the most gorgeous body and the rest of it.

Now I’m not sure if Keith is only sugar-coating his eye’s assumption because he’s taken the blindfold of relationships off or if what he sees will soil my oats so I sit on the fence in assumption. She’s one of those beautiful girls that brings the horses out for the Jockeys before the game so obviously she has to be a looker. More on this in the near future, if Tyler does get lucky.

Soccer Grand Final Night

Sunder these eyes for they do grow depraved of their shut attentiveness. Damn these thoughts for they do asunder the very life that they speak of which too much descriptive atonement. However, do not these pages curse for they speak wickedly from odd hours but of odd hours they speak with the tongue of history and hearsay. In this tongue I do account the events that have taken place within these accountable days, from ere three years.

Now my eyes do grow tired and I must attend the ‘Soccer’ Grand Final that has been forced upon me with other people’s zealous words. The fascination wells not in these fingers but for the sake of my tired eyes and a need to relax, I shall inherit entertainment in the form of television. Thus, anon I shall complete today’s events tomorrow, when my last day of freedom is at hand. Tonight I did not go out to celebrate my last chance of freedom but rather, stayed home for reasons I shall care explain tomorrow. See you then…
