A Nap And A Bath

Since my phone call with Lyssa, I ate my fish, had some eggs to eat and because of al the tryptophane, drowsy wonders got the better of me. Sleeping for an hour and a half I jumped out of bed all crumpled, my bones weakened from the short sleep. My hands also feeling feeble from being suffocated under the pillow, I thought the best way to wake myself up was to have a bath.

Therefore, with this thought in mind, I headed upstairs, turned on the hot water and filled the tub up with a comfortable temperature. As this warmed my back I sat back and relaxed for what seemed to be half an hour, dipping my head under water to wash my hair occasionally. Relaxed as I was, I had to eventually get out and from my shower I began upon these memoirs with literature.

Having had the whole day to write about, I thought I would be able to catch up with chronology and now, as the time is 7:45 p.m. which is relatively the right time I start, I can do such a task. Having written about my Monday thus far except for my last interesting but short conversation with Lyssa at 6:30 p.m., I shall be able to explain the remainder of Thursday and Friday at work. With the amount of literature that came from these fingers and this mind last weekend, it would be obvious that the talent has and will continually persist tonight.

Nevertheless, with the trend of my hurried Wednesday depiction, I will favor to write of Thursday and Friday in such fashion. These memoirs are littered with philosophy when most the time comes to write chronology. I weigh my days down with my thoughts and as you can see, without the consuming chronology, my day was hastened considerably. Therefore, after some detailed description of my conversation with Lyssa, I will conduct a factual synergy for Wednesday and Thursday just the same.

Lyssa’s Strange Dream

Now to that small conversation regarding Lyssa and I tonight. The reason Lyssa thought to call me at 6:30 p.m. was to apologize for her inability to speak for such a lengthy time at work. “Oh no, that’s no problem, I didn’t expect you to speak for so long at work anyway” I replied. From there Lyssa remembered a dream she dreamt the night before and thought to share it with me.

In my own words and without exclamation marks, the dream started with Lyssa being at Chevy’s with all her friends only, it looked like a huge pub. After a short while all her friends decided it was time to go home and then it was only Lyssa, Penelope and Naqi left for the night. Walking through the crowd of people, Lyssa told me she saw me walking past the three of them, wearing the same clubbing clothes as I had when Lyssa saw me on Friday night. “I didn’t know what to think,” Lyssa uttered. “What you mean between Naqi and I,” I asked curiously. “Yeah, I didn’t know how the two of you would react to each other.”

For a short while there was a silence and then Lyssa thought to herself, “Shit” when Naqi extended his hand towards me. Lyssa kept telling me how she thought this dream was so real and when I shook Naqi’s hand instead of walking away or clobbering him, Lyssa stood there in amazed shock. From there I walked away with Naqi as we sat down and chatted for the next hour, leaving Penelope and Lyssa to their own devices.

“That would never happen in reality,” I exclaimed as Lyssa pouted, “There isn’t even a slight chance” to no avail of my reply. Lyssa went on to tell me that crazier things have happened and she hates how I continually say it’s been too long. “I’ve seen people who have been fighting for twelve years turn out to be the best of friends again,” she argued but to her dismay, I would conceive no reunion.

Who Hates Who

As I digressed onto how everyone else hates Naqi, I carefully noted that Imad, Martin and the rest of them hate Imad as well. “Who told you this” she yelped “Imad!” Truth from her lips did stem or what she knew. Lyssa told me that Imad was the one who was actually banned from Martin’s house and from what Lyssa knows, he doesn’t like Imad anymore. Therefore, I am confused on who to believe, Lyssa who possibly doesn’t know all the information or Imad who has the one-sided inside edge on things.

Digressing again from such conversation, Lyssa noted how even after one year, people keep asking her “How’s Tony.” Just this weekend Lyssa thought to note how she saw Cai at Macarthur Square who gave her a friendly kiss on the cheek. From there he asked those cliché words of conversation and as Lyssa thought “Loser” she advised him that it’s been a year or more since we had broken up. Lyssa also mentioned how all the Lebs keep asking her how I’ve been, which surprises me on how they all still remember my name.

I gather that my name was given a boost in popularity when I started going out with Lyssa. Guys used to look at me and think “He’s lucky for going out with her” which more or less, put me just above level on their ranks. I told Lyssa how people still look at me differently when I see them now and the Lebs have much more untold respect for me in the way they regard my presence.

Lyssa Goes For Coffee

Fifteen minutes into our conversation Lyssa caught me off guard as she told me she had to jump off the phone. Asking what the hurry was Lyssa noted how she was going out for coffee. Immediately my suspicions of her going out with Radley or some other guy were condescending to other assumptions but in the end I figured she was going out with Penelope, Constantine or one of the other girls. “You’re not paying for it are you”

I asked so that she wouldn’t spend any more of her money. “Nah”, she replied as we said our farewells, made plans for tomorrow and then ended our conversation. “Make sure you don’t make me look like a fool by rejecting me on the phone when I ring or changing your plans around” I asked, wary that Lyssa has a knack of doing such things. With that firm in her mind our conversation finished and I, after some relaxing rest got to the rest of my day’s chronology.

Her Fancy Nights Out

Again, Lyssa feeds me mild envy as I learn she is going out again for another night of fanciful indulgence. Lyssa is acting upon the luxury nicely and I commend her for living her life to the full. If anyone was to have a fulfilling life it would have to be Lyssa as you would expect it of her. Being so beautiful, you would wish her to be out there, dining out, heading to nightclubs and having fun whenever possible.

The psychics little interpretation of Lyssa flirting her little tits off in the not too distant reverie of her future doesn’t sound too unlike the reality I would wish for her. Even though I envy Lyssa’s life wishing that some of her good fortune could rub off on me, I know that I could have that same fortune if I was not so obligated to these memoirs.

I also wish that when Lyssa and I were going out we could have done half of the things I hear of these days. It felt good when we headed to that café on Queen Street for one day in our life but it was disappointing and also memorable of our nature to how the day was spoiled by the luxuries of the rich I didn’t accustom myself to.

I still laugh at the fact that they Phineas wanted to charge me money just for sitting there while Lyssa and Velda ate but hey, that’s an oddity of the rich. I know that if I had a car things would have been different where each night of my unemployed life would have been to pampering Lyssa to wherever she wanted to go.

I would have even liked heading to the opera or even escorting her to nightclubs but since we had such different tastes, most of them delights would not have been approached.

What I Would Change

I just hope that with my next girlfriend I will learn from what could have made a relationship better. Don’t get me wrong, my relationship with Lyssa was very special but I just yearn upon the things I could have done to make it just that little bit more special. Now, I sit here downcast, upon my loving poetry and those loving hours we embraced each other at home.

Now I yearn for more nights out together, more memories adrift but I know that if those wishes were my reality, I would be singing the same tune right now for some quality time with Lyssa. On the other end of the stick, I would be wishing that I wrote Lyssa more poetry or spent more time with her at home. Therefore, I can’t really win but to say that it would have been perfect if the fine line between the two was met and in equal portion, I met the desires that I put before you here.

Hating Goodbyes

In addition to my telephone conversation, each time Lyssa tells me she has to go, I get disappointed. Just like I’ve grown to get comfortable with our conversations, the mere thought of the words “Well, I’m going to go now” are way too harsh and forward. That’s why each time Lyssa tells me she has to get off the phone I make her linger for an extra five to ten minutes, so I can get accustomed to her saying goodbye. It’s not that I yearn for her, I just get attached and used to our conversation and as a friend and close confederate, I value the time we talk.

Even if we are in argument, I still depreciate the moments where we are to hang up the phone. However, I’m not clingy or strung-up, I’ve just gotten used to long conversations with women at an early age in my love life. Ever since Jewell and I carried on record conversations and how that legacy carried onto my deep and meaningful conversations with Lyssa at the start of our relationship. I never got over the feeling of communal conversation and that is why I yearn not to hear those discrediting words of discontinuance to such a cold hiatus.

For such a short day there definitely was a great deal of description. Sometimes I wonder, ‘Where does is all go” but I guess it’s not bad at all when I have to look back upon it in years to come. Like I always say, when I have extra time on my hands to complete chronology, I always seem to find a way to linger within my words so that I would have had little progress in the flow or progression of my lagging days. Anyway, it is now due course for me to write of those two forgotten days, Thursday and Friday, let me begin…
