A Million Dollar Ring
Now that I have cared to explain the poem in fair detail let me begin with the rest of my Chronology that I hope to wrap up in a couple of pages before I can on with the rest of my literature. Before I do that let me just elaborate upon an idea that I came up with that Lyssa placed within my mind. We were watching the music awards on television as she called me on the phone and looking at a huge diamond on Will Smith’s wife’s finger she uttered “That’s huge, it would have cost a fortune.”
Lyssa then asked if I would ever buy her a ring that big and I told her if I had millions of dollars. With that I thought that if I was a millionaire and to buy that ring would be all the money I owned then I would lose a burden of mine. If I had one million dollars and a ring for my marriage would cost one million dollars then the burden of my being rich would be placed upon my wife’s finger.
Think upon that…
Riches On Her Finger
All my spoils, upon thy spoiled hand as such,
And my value still hither, but on thee,
This praiseworthy stone, riches thine hand much,
And still I am rich but this wealth I free,
Yet, I would live poverty’s life for my love,
And for my love I would to poverty give,
And when I hold her hand I am but her wealth,
Her natural wealth, that I but care to live,
Two Sonnets In A Night
That poem basically came out of my immediate thought, out of nowhere. Originally I was only going to write a line or two in text but it was good enough that I thought to publish it as such. It’s not hard to interpret what I was trying to get across, how I would give all if I was but a millionaire for the simple life and the wealth in love.
That now makes three poems in Sonnet form and as one is a proper Sonnet and the other two are six lines and eight lines together you can make a Sonnet out of that also. So in retrospect you can believe that I have written two full Sonnets for tonight.
