Brisbane Hanging On

Sunday 9:31 p.m.

Another Sunday of wasted chance upon these pages. Ever since 6:00 p.m. the lingering upon me has only caused me greater strife with these pages in the future days. To begin, on a good note, watching a touch of the Football and listening to the live broadcast which was an hour ahead of schedule, I worked out the tables and that Brisbane are still in eighth place.

With Canberra losing their game to Penrith they look set to be knocked out of the top eight and all Brisbane has to do next week is win against the Bulldogs to stay in contention for the top eight. Another nail-biter next Friday I can assure you that, whether Brisbane make the top eight or not.

Fried Rice Run

From 6:00 p.m., the taste for fried rice grew. There was a void in my stomach that could only be filled up by Asian food, something which I have taken a shine to lately. I’ve grown accustomed to eating fried rice, sushi and anything else that’s oriental ever since I started working. Even before work I had a certain craving for oriental food but the funds were never there. Donning my ‘Guess’ shoes and that black jacket from Gas Station, I headed down to the shops, clenching in my toes as usual.

The ‘Guess’ shoes that I was wearing still haven’t stretched out and with socks they are a tight squeeze to which after an hour of walking in them you’ll start to get strains. Anyway, down at the shops was that Australian type girl who didn’t show me any love or interest. I don’t know what it is about my attitude or the clothes I wear but people tend to look away, look too much or scoff at me. This girl appeared to be recognizant to which I mean she heeded me not when there.

Rather, she took down my order quickly and went about her business, not showing any like or dislike, only apathy. Waiting outside I’d seen one or two other people gawking at me and the telling factor of her avoidance was when she called out my order from inside instead of my number. Turning her back from the counter and getting to some work, I headed up there, grabbed my order and made my way out the door. Complete unconcern and how did I manage to create such an aversion to my presence.

Gridiron Night With Tyler

Heading back home to dig into my fried rice, I started typing a touch more in my memoirs to which I then heard a car out the front. Looking out the window I couldn’t see anything in my immediate view but I knew that I was going to receive a knock on my door and turned off my memoirs respectively. Tyler was at the door and as I opened up he eagerly mentioned “Come on, let’s play the Playstation, I’m hooked”.

Unable to say no, I mentioned that we could only have one game and then it was time for him to head home and me to get back to work. Tyler sounded fine with that as we put on Gridiron 99 and setting the quarters to 10 minutes we began our enduring game. Immediately, upon receiving the kickoff my San Francisco team ran right through the Dallas Cowboys defense to run a length of the field touchdown. Tyler was dirty about the events taking place, cursing at the air and noting how much of a bad start it was.

From the onset, I thought I was going to pulverize Tyler like the night before but receiving the ball, after a couple of plays he managed to score a good touchdown run. Figuring that we were in it for the long haul, the next hour or two until the halfway siren was neck and neck, touchdown on touchdown. The only difference however was that I didn’t convert my first two two-pointers and Tyler did. However, I countered that late in the second quarter by denying him one of his which made it a two point ball game.

Tyler was in the lead after my initial touchdown to which he put it down as luck. Not as animated as myself when scoring a touchdown, I tend to jump around and put the celebration in his face while he just sits there with a content smile on his face. With seconds to go before halftime, Tyler had a chance to be up one touchdown on me and then get the ball back in the second half.

Surprisingly, the bastard scored a touchdown as each sides men couldn’t tackle each other properly, they had butter on their uniforms. Tyler’s plans to abolish me were thwarted when on his third attempt to pass I scored an interception. From there on with my scoring a touchdown to even the scores 32-32 I didn’t look back. In the end the score was 60-40 my way or something on the lines of such a victory.

Movie Plans Fall Through

However, the game was never finished as Tyler lost all hope three minutes away from full time. Nevertheless, our game ending sooner meant that I could get to these pages much quicker to explain the rest of chronology before I pass the buck to tomorrow night. With my explanation of the phone call I just had with Lyssa at 9:15 a.m., that will cap off the full events of Sunday, not too great.

Oh yeah, one more thing before I begin anew. I didn’t end up going to the movies because Imad ended up postponing it. Originally I was to head down with Imad and as Jett rang me through the day and noted he was heading to the movies with Adam, I thought to combine the both of our groups. However, shortly later I called Imad to which he changed the plans to 6:00 a.m. because he had a squeeze over his house. Time upon time passed to which I also called Shawn like you might know.

Figuring he might also want to head to the movies, he ended up saying no to Jett’s offer, deciding he wanted to head out with Ralf somewhere for the day. Well, Imad called me up around the time we were supposed to head out and apologized for not being able to live up to his plans. Therefore, for this weekend, I spoke too soon about the appraisal of this new age. With this knowledge I started back on my memoirs only to have Tyler head over and Lyssa call me shortly after his departure.

Another Call From Lyssa

My phone was piping hot today, measuring to have had around ten to twelve calls filtered through. The last tonight was from Lyssa after she initially called me today to put me down for never having contacted her. When 9:00 p.m. arrived tonight I was thinking of calling Lyssa but I figured that she would be asleep and that it would again seem like too much too late. However, it was my mistake again not to call, making myself seem forlorn from care in her life.

Lyssa brought up the point of me sending a birthday card to Jewell when the both of us were going out which bid me to ask “Why are you bringing that up for”. Going through the whole charade of explaining why I didn’t call Lyssa for her birthday, I made myself clear that calling her house was like sticking your fingers onto a mouse trap. It’s no secret that Lyssa treats me differently to anyone else and if I would have called Lyssa on Friday or Saturday she either wouldn’t have been home or she would have quickly brushed me off because she had to get ready.

“Why didn’t you call me from work” Lyssa asked to which my obvious response was “You know I hate talking on the phone in front of people”. Lyssa took it to the extreme with her bluff saying “I don’t know how I’m ever going to be able to talk to you again after this”. In reality, I wouldn’t stand to lose much if Lyssa and I never spoke again, hence my commenting “Alright then, why don’t you go”. However, Lyssa quickly bounced back, trying to filter some of her anger upon me but with my arrogance repelling, I just didn’t want to cop any flack.

Lyssa was right to be mad with me as I was rather flagrant but I have a knack of twisting words and situations to my favor or at least so that blame isn’t placed upon me. I try to look for ways to hamper her blame where I should have taken her blame on the Chest, giving her some satisfaction, seeing that I care enough to take the blame for not caring enough.

Smooching At Chevy’s

Changing the subject some way through our short conversation, Lyssa asked what I done for Sunday and basically got the short summary. Asking the same of Saturday, she exclaimed “So you didn’t do anything this week did you”. Explaining that I had been to Rogues on Friday I uttered “I thought you already knew about that, didn’t I tell you”. Lyssa didn’t seem to know about my heading to Rogues in the City, figuring that I only got as far as trying to get into Chevy’s and then heading back home unsatisfied.

“Did you smooch anyone in the City” she asked adding “You have to smooch out of Campbelltown”. Knowing there had to be some line thrown out for me to lure with curiosity I asked “Why, do you always smooch when in the City”, luring myself in to see the reason behind the rod. “I smooch everywhere” Lyssa mentioned and again, knowing there was something behind this I asked if Lyssa got onto anyone at Chevy’s on Friday night. “That’s none of your business”

Lyssa replied in a blur of words which soon followed with “Nah, I got onto Imad”. Always mixing his name up with Radley when he’s a Hakim, she mentioned how she treated him like a bitch and at the end of the night she quickly said “Thanks for the night goodbye” and left. Lyssa’s big head was obviously wounded when Hakim got the better of her by noting he didn’t want her so Lyssa obviously wanted to get some spiteful revenge and be the one to reject him.

Johnnie On The Dance Floor

Apart from seeing Imad at Chevy’s, Lyssa also noted how she had seen Johnnie there. “Don’t get angry but I think he’s a sleaze” Lyssa mentioned. Automatically raising some suspicion that without the truth would make me see Johnnie as another dog trying to muscle in on my scraps, she told me he danced like a sleaze around her but not with her. However, Johnnie ended up walking right up to Lyssa and shedding a few words to which he commented about me saying “Tony’s a tops bloke”.

Johnnie is obviously taken by Lyssa and from my showing him who she was at the Catholic Club and his noting that she was hot, he obviously wanted a closer look. Again, there has to be a reason beyond Lyssa’s explanation of Johnnie looking like a sleaze. Although she mentioned he didn’t dance up on her, his being around her for the night made me believe that he was trying to put some moves together so that she would pay attention to him.

However, Lyssa was turned off by him rather than on as Lyssa tends to dislike any of my friends that try and get through to her from knowing me. It’s good that Lyssa doesn’t even consider getting onto anyone that has a relation to me, good to know indeed. That seemed to be our conversation ender, her chatting about Chevy’s. Just like she had treated Imad on Friday night, she was quick to end our conversation abruptly, wanting to be the first to say goodbye. Our conversation ended as abrupt as the scoffing that began it all but in all, no harm done…
