A Throat Gone Rogue

Bastard, some sort of throat infection has clutched me and although it isn’t severe, it’s grounded me for the day. I started to get the feeling that I was gathering some sort of throat infection on Friday morning at work when I would breathe in and feel the passage of air strangely breezing cold air past my tonsils through the mucus. Friday night at Chevy’s showed a possible sign that my infection had disappeared but through the later stages of Saturday, the coughs started to emerge.

Those whooping coughs that make your mucus gurgle. I don’t feel like shit or anything, I’ve just lost control over my voice and have a nasty cough now and again that heats up the innards of my chest. There is nothing wrong with my nose, I don’t have the flu and it isn’t blocked up. Therefore, I won’t consider this as me getting sick, it’s just a feeble passing persistency, able to retreat my body by tomorrow night.

Yesterday I got myself to sleep at 1:30 a.m. after listening to some music on headphones and watching my last little taste of television. For the next nine hours I did sleep generously as I woke up at 10:30 a.m. An hour before my waking up I thought to turn on the heater so the room would warm up because I could feel the effects of my infection worsening overnight.

The tea done a great deal before my getting to sleep and the heater done its job also as it made me drift off for a further hour. Upon waking up I lifted up the heater and warmed up my back whilst lying on the bed for a further couple of minutes and finally jumped out of bed. Knowing I had to take care of how exposed I was to cold air, I robed myself in a thick jacket, sweat pants, beanie and even some socks.

Heading upstairs with this ensemble I had myself something quick to eat to neutralize the phlegm that had been building up inside. All throughout last night and this morning, whenever I had the heater behind me and typing on this computer or what not, I used to continually sneeze. It was as if my nose was more sensitive which was a good thing at the best of times because large coughs cleared up my throat, making me feel so much better for a couple of minutes.

Keith Rings About The Football

This morning thus far has yielded nothing but my having a shower and Keith giving me a call. In basis, he asked what I done on Saturday night, found out how great my Friday night was and wanted to see if I wanted to watch the Parramatta game against someone else. Speaking of Football, Brisbane won another game against the South Sydney Rabbits on Saturday which means they have won eight straight games now and in contention for the top eight.

In our conversation, I thought to ask what Ace’s brothers name was and now find to match a face with a name, Nero. Keith knew that he wouldn’t be able to get me out due to my growing cold and having no money so he just settled for coming over later in the day, probably to watch the game.

The Shopping List Shuffle

Apart from that, this morning I was trying to sort out my financial situation for the next month, trying to exact what I would buy. I knew that this Thursday’s payment will see me taking all those clothes off lay-by from Gas Station as well as buying those Guess shoes and possibly a thin pinstripe sweater from Tarocash.

The problem came with my wanting to buy Blue Contact Lenses and those Calvin Klein Glasses which would both cost around $350 each but I have other things marked down on my list and only one more month in which to buy them before I start saving for Binh’s Laptop Computer. Therefore, I had to have a hard look at what I wanted to buy with my next two payments after Thursday and deciding that a leather jacket or two strap leather boots weren’t a major necessity, I decided to scratch them off the list temporarily.

Freeing up some space to buy either of my favored two items I also have money to spare to buy a tie, socks and a shirt or two from Hound Dog. However, I also have the problem of wanting to buy a Retro Puff Jacket Vest from Gas Station. This morning I called them up to confirm that the price was $150 which would put everything else off course for a little while.

They don’t have any black vests left and I will consider buying one only if they can order it in from their other stores like bargained. If this happens I’ll move everything around but so that I can still buy my contact lenses. The next payment after that wasn’t fooled around with much but I did have to give the Black Fly’s Sunglasses a flick for the Calvin Klein Glasses.

This is only because I feel I would wear the Calvin Klein Glasses more because they would be on me everyday at work. In addition, I would finish off my controlled shopping spree over the past three months with exactly what I wanted to buy in relation to wants and desires extending to the point of need. Having a fair amount of club clothes and work wear to keep me happy for the next couple of months, I will look forward to my laptop computer and then braided hair.

Bucket Hat Down Queen Street

With twelve hours of possible prose ahead of me and a more viable eight hours counting breaks and Football, I will come fairly close to a soothing completion of chronology tonight. Therefore, to no more fooling around, I shall commence again from my Friday night just as Tyler and I left the Catholic Club. As we headed out the front doors I put on my DKNY hat, blue glasses and walked forth, barely able to see three meters in front of me due to the hat lying so low over my eyes.

However, this gave me a sense fame, feeling like the warrior guy with the hat from ‘Big Trouble in Little China’. The electric sparkling guy, just more fashionable. Lifting my head up as if I was looking at a distant high-rise building in Campbelltown, that was the only way I could notice oncoming cars and people. However, the hat gave me a sense of perception as I walked mostly with my head slightly down, playing out the full vibe of the bucket hat.

Both Tyler and I being in our zany mood, we walked up the car park road towards Macdonald’s screaming out “Yeah” to each other. The marvel of my hat and being hidden meant that I could reveal a character from the inner depths of my mind. Being larrikins to ourselves, we headed up the bottom portion of Queen Street and past Timezone on our way towards Tyler’s house. In the whole course of our walk we kept screaming to each other and running up the street with our arms outstretched pretending we were airplanes.

Pulling a clueless face of slight insanity, we veered our bodies left and right tipping our outstretched hands towards the direction we were flying and running like we were a cross between tip-toe Chinamen and left-footed louts. The funny thing about the situation is that I wasn’t drinking like Tyler and therefore, I was being a larrikin at my own will.

Passing Timezone Tyler decided that we should check it out and knowing that I would look different amongst all the die-hard try-hards, I knew I would have to uphold my image. Making our way in, I kept my head down, trying to look the part, not allowing them to see the blue shades or the depths within of my eyes.

On occasion when I would look up the people that would otherwise have been looking would bow down their heads or turn away. This gave me the impression that they were intimidated by what I was wearing, as if, I could see them and they couldn’t see me. Giving Timezone the once around we headed back outside into the colder weather and continued up Queen Street.

Jonah Leaves Me Hanging

Making our way past Chevy’s Tyler stopped to shake Jonah’s hand and speak with him. Being a bouncer at the front door and someone I knew of at school, I thought he was rude for what he had done later in the night. After his little chat we headed up the street until the crossing and then Tyler asked me “Do you just want to head into Chevy’s first and then when we get our stamps we’ll go to my house”. Sitting ourselves down on a bench near the crossing I would rather have headed to Tyler’s house, secretly knowing that I wasn’t ready yet.

However, Tyler noted that it might be free before 11:00 p.m. so buckling to his assumptions we headed into the line for Chevy’s, making progress up to the bouncers. When Tyler made his way up he shook Jonah’s hand and began to talk to him in which he wasn’t asked for his identification. Unable to see Jonah’s face and unable to hear what he said, I went to shake his hand as Tyler had done, figuring he wouldn’t be as cold as to stand there like he was above me.

However, despite his knowing who I was and seeing me each week at Chevy’s, when my hand outstretched he let it stand there for a couple of seconds before he asked for my identification. Such a prick action made me loath his attitude as I walked up the stairs of Chevy’s. He didn’t make me feel the fool because I was hidden behind my stronger character but he probably didn’t shake my hand because of his lordly premise, thinking he was King shit, not deserved of my soiled hand.

An Early Night At Chevy’s

Inside Chevy’s there weren’t more than twenty people there. Well, looks do deceive as there was probably that amount on stage dancing but it looked far too few. This was due to the fact that we had arrived at the earliest possible time, something that Ralf is good at doing to bring down a night. Making our way to the back section of chairs across from the bar, we leant across another bar within that little area. There were girls in the section of tables already dancing their little steps to the beat, uncaring that there was no one around them.

Even so early, the small amount of people there were getting into their night and that’s what is good about Chevy’s now. It’s full of people that want to dance, that know how to dance and that want to get out there and have the best night of their local lives. No more does it have people like Keith heading down, who just stand around like glum idiots, bringing down the flavor of the night by swaying to their comfortless unease.
