A Better Sleep

Gearing up for a second day of work I wasn’t tired at all in the morning because I had another great sleep. This time around I set my alarm for a little later so I could purposefully catch the later bus and train so that I would arrive at work right on time. Having an hour to get ready I put on my older suit jacket to keep warm, caught the bus and headed to the station.

Waiting for a couple of minutes I caught the 7:33 a.m. train and thinking that Lyssa probably wouldn’t be on the train, jumped in the first carriage. Nevertheless, I thought to sit downstairs and two seats up incase Lyssa sat in her normal seat and when we arrived in Leumeah, I heard Lyssa beckon for me from the back seat in which she found herself. Deciding to head over, we started talking as I asked how her television was going.

Television Money Talk

She said it was fine. There was no satisfaction or gratitude shown from my giving her the television, just normal old uncaring Lyssa. This didn’t piss me off, but however, when asking Lyssa if she could at least pay fifty dollars by her next payment, and she uttered, “I’m not sure,” it hit a nerve. I didn’t show my frustration for going out of my way to get her a television she’s always wanted, only to have my hospitality shoved back in my face.

When Lyssa uttered in the next sentence “You can take the thing back if you want,” it made me feel stupid and like a fool to have ever thought that Lyssa would take the task of paying off a television seriously when in seriousness, she could just play me as she always does. Asking her if she really wanted the television she told me, “yes,” and that pissed me off more because I didn’t want to be running around chasing money that she owes but will probably never get around to paying.

Nevertheless, if Lyssa does flash the first amount of money in my face she’s not going to go out of her way to pay it to me. If I ask Lyssa to place it into my account she’ll be too untutored and won’t know what to do, fearing technology, or just using it as an excuse.

If I ask Lyssa to wait half an hour so I can finish work in which she can pay me Lyssa won’t do that, either because it’s her precious time or because my going out of my way for her and putting my trust in her paying debt doesn’t matter.. Who am I kidding. Lyssa won’t buy the television and even if she does, she’s taking advantage of me by only wanting to pay $110 and agreeing to my paying the extra $40 for her.

Reading Her Book Instead

Why am I doing this? Why show such gratitude to someone who doesn’t hold enough respect for me to even hold a conversation without making me angry. Lyssa pissed me off in the way she carried herself around, and as she asked “Are you angry” and I said “No,” she then remarked, “No, don’t” when I tried to speak to her and kept silent.

It was rude when Lyssa ignorantly started reading her book, making me look the fool in front of the guy sitting next to us. I wanted so badly to just jump out of my seat and walk away to relieve the incredible amount of stress just by sitting next to her but knew that if I had done that, Lyssa would never have paid and I would have been stuck with the task of getting the television back (an Indian-giver), or facing the more menial task of paying off her television with my money and not caring furthermore about her.

However, I didn’t jump out of my seat and kept myself planted despite the building stress. Near the end of the trip Lyssa stopped reading her book and spoke a couple of words to me, and because mine is always the lesser foot feeling forwarded, I made my way up the train stairs to say goodbye as she walked to work.

Business Strategy Seminar

Catching the train to work, I collected the mail from downstairs, speaking to the only lady in the mail room, and a pretty one too. Today I done the incoming mail again then near lunch started on a brief before we prepared to head out for a seminar at midday. The seminar was actually for at least 125 people at work and it was a Business Strategy Seminar put on by the big boys from HIH.

Heading down there with Thalia, Livia and another woman who was Hungarian, we walked into the hotel premises where the venue was held, had ourselves little fancy sandwiches to eat supplied for lunch, had a drink of orange juice, looked at all the workers for HIH and then headed for the seats inside the venue. For the next two hours we were talked to about plans for HIH in the future, all the goals that we should have and a brief explanation of who was who in the bigger departments. From this I got to chat to one of the bigger bosses and sit with Thalia and the other two ladies. That lasted until 2:30 p.m. and from there we made our way to work in a little group.

Maren Sits On My Desk

Back to work it was for the day as Maren sat on my desk for the first half of the day and the second half of the day because her computer was playing up. Maren is the hot blonde I keep referring to, the one who keeps coming to our area and I think I am more justified with this new addition. From chatting to her through our day together I got to find out that she was only a temp there and that she was finishing at the end of the week.

It’s a shame, both Fitzroy and Maren are now going and they were two of the more lively figures in the office, shame. Fitzroy invited me to an after-work get-together two weeks from now on Friday to celebrate his last day at work with a couple of work friends. Apart from that, I got to work on another brief in which it got a bit mixed up and we all had a big laugh about the catastrophe it had created.

Maren was on my side in her jovial sense saying things like “You’re working the poor lad too hard. No wonder it’s so hectic around here.” At the end of the day I worked on the outgoing mail just getting it delivered on time and then helped out a woman with the filing who worked with us. This I didn’t have to do but I felt like I had to get to know another face at work so I could slowly get to know everyone in the office as a friend and name.

Video Night With Tyler

The day ended at the usual time and I headed home on the usual train. Sitting myself next to a good-looking girl with a light blue work style shirt and fair pair of breasts, I had Lynx on and knew she was whiffing it up. However, she didn’t turn to look or even acknowledge my existence too much until she finally had to get up and showed a great smile and glance back twice. Back at Campbelltown I saw another girl that I thought was good looking when jumping on the bus but there’s nothing much in that.

Before heading home I bought two pieces of pumpkin because I was starving and then headed home to meet up and chat with Tyler later in the night. He brought over his video player where we tried to tape his copy of our newest Gridiron video but we just ended up watching it. Anyway, I rushed this entry because I now have to get to sleep so I must be off without philosophy or adequate chronology and hope that tomorrow I will have enough brain strength to speak of today’s ending and my Wednesday at work…
