A Phone Call Opens Old Wounds (Part 4) – Mad Chaos: February 8, 1999

A Lazy Sunday

Now, to speak of Sunday nothing much happened for my day. Because I went to sleep fairly late I didn’t wake up until around 4:00 p.m. Yes, I know it’s pretty late but I can’t help it, I tried to get into a regular sleeping pattern by staying up very late, it didn’t work. I’m not sure about this little factor of the day but I think Ralf called me seeing what I was doing. As usual he wanted to do something but I informed him that I would rather have a quiet one and so I done just that and went back to sleep.

There were no other calls during my relaxing day as I just watched television for most of the night. At 7:30 p.m. Lyssa decided to give me a call arguing that I wasn’t going to try and call her. That has some truth in it as I was going to wait to see if Lyssa called me but in the end I would have called her around 8:30 p.m. These games with Lyssa I should stop, By now it’s obvious that Lyssa would call but I think I keep testing Lyssa to find out what mood she is in or how she is reacting to me on any given day.

News From Her Saturday Night

Lyssa and I started chatting about my night out and then I found out that Lyssa went out to Molly’s after watching a movie at the cinemas. Lyssa went out with Nikita, Constantine DJ, Kieran and Milton and she told me that her night wasn’t great at all, it was just alright. Lyssa then informed me that Nikita was once again upset that everyone was looking at Lyssa as opposed to her. “I felt sorry for her” Lyssa informed me, “She’s very beautiful and she was just so sad on Saturday night”.

Reading Nikita Wrong or Right

With that I tried to reason why Nikita was so emotionally unstable saying something like “The reason I feel Nikita is degrading herself has to do with her parents breaking up recently. Nikita’s trying to deal with it best as she can but she has to find other ways to deal with her emotional stress at home and emotionally it is getting to her. Nikita probably feels different now and that’s why she’s doubting herself and she keeps wishing she was like other people.

The same way she wishes she had your looks she is trying to reach out and say I wish my family was like yours”. That speech was much better worded and truthful than I had written here and midway through my diagnosis Lyssa started to cry. I wasn’t sure at first if Lyssa was crying or laughing at how lame I probably sounded where I was trying to work out Nikita but after a while I realized that Lyssa was really crying.

Tears and Family History

Trying to calm Lyssa to settle down I figured that I must have struck a nerve with Lyssa’s family break up and hit the hammer on the head with my explanation. Lyssa informed me that my explanation was just how Lyssa felt when her parents broke up, that’s why she felt sad for Nikita. Lyssa then went on to mention how she hated when everyone in her house got drunk because it only started arguments between the whole family and struggling to put together what Lyssa was saying it all fit together in the end.

Lyssa informed me that when her parents were still together and her dad would come home drunk Lyssa’s mum would take her out of the house and walk her around the block countless times. This in turn was so that Lyssa wouldn’t see the holes in the walls that her dad would put there and because Kuper would stay in the house he would usually get into arguments with his dad. Then when they got divorced Lyssa hated how she would visit him (Like the time Lyssa invited me out to see her dad and we visited the Tennis Club at Leumeah) and both him and Kuper would get drunk.

This would cause them to say things about the marriage that would upset Lyssa and Kuper would usually argue with his dad which would make matters worse. Carleigh would also be emotional and cry about the whole turn of events and then it would all get unleashed on Lyssa’s mum as she would come home upset and her mum would get angry. Lyssa was very upset about her past as she told me a truth, she never likes talking about the divorce or her family. That’s pretty true, how much times have I spoken in this Diary about the divorce Lyssa had to be involved in or the events which led to it, naught.

Matchmaking Between Two Friends

Conversation soon changed to other subjects as Lyssa informed me that Kieran slept over DJ’s house on Saturday night after Molly’s Tavern. Delving more into the story Lyssa informed me that she spoke to both of them separately and found out that they both wanted to get onto each other. Informing DJ that Kieran was rather shy to approach her she suggested that DJ take matters into her own hands as she wouldn’t get knocked back. Therefor when everyone was getting dropped off home, it was made so that Kieran would drop off DJ and once there she invited him inside.

For the next hour or so they watched movies and both of them seemed to fall asleep on the sofa. DJ was the one to wake up first and waking Kieran up she asked him if he would like to head to her bedroom where they could both sleep together. I’m pretty sure that Kieran’s extra man would have sprung up upon hearing that and as they both headed to her room they slept together but didn’t do anything.

Valentine Plans Gone Wrong

Kieran and DJ have this Saturday coming already planned to do things together and considering it’s Valentines Day it’s a good beginning of a relationship. Speaking of Valentines Day, Lyssa informed me of a plan that Milton had for the both of them. At first she didn’t want to inform me because she knew I would get angry but in turn she advised me that Milton wanted to take Lyssa out on a surprise for Saturday night. He didn’t say where he was going to take her but he just said “Don’t make any plans for Saturday night” and he also noted that he was doing something for Valentine’s Day for her.

This is the same guy that once sent Lyssa a large bunch of Roses out of the blue, he was only her friend. Lyssa is scared of what concoction he’s come up with for Saturday night but you can expect it to be something desperate but disguised as a friendly gesture. He’s probably thinking of taking her out on a picnic for two but Lyssa doesn’t even want to think about him. The thought crossed her mind of advising him she just didn’t want to go and then she thought of using me as an excuse, saying that she has plans with me for Valentines Day.

Sonnet Writer Block

Our conversation ended around half an hour after it began as I wanted to watch ‘Sleepers’ on television and Lyssa wanted to get herself prepared for sleep. Thus, we said goodnight and with that I got to what I was doing and Lyssa prepared herself for sleep. Now, that unto this hour is pretty much the happenings of the last two nights and I was hoping to write another Sonnet tonight as I have the idea written down but I just don’t seem to have the drive.

Rather, I appear only for tonight to have writer’s block where I have only come up with the heading, that’s if I even use it. Thus, as the time is now nearing the daylight hours of the morning I might persuade myself to get myself some sleep now. Maybe tomorrow night if my day is once again dull and not in need of much chronology my poetical juices shall flow and with profuse deliberation. Consider it a sacrifice in the pursuit of knowledge, my sleep this morning to forget about poetical thoughts in turn to come back with poetical force tomorrow.
