A Waterbed That Fights Back
Now to speak of the rest of the day, Friday that be. Nothing much happened for that day and as I didn’t get to sleep until 7:00 a.m. Friday morning because of the Play Station I was surprised to wake up earlier, at 2:00 p.m. Somewhat with a headache from sleeping uncomfortably in bed last night I knew some food would ease it off. Lately I haven’t been able to get some good sleep in my waterbed and each morning that I wake up I’ve always got markings on my body from the bed sheets or my arm has pins and needles.
At least a year or more back when being given this waterbed by Johnnie’s family I started becoming more aware of how I slept and each time I would turn around at night while sleeping I would wake up. Consciously I kept chiseling into my subconscious night after night for me to wake up so I would be able to control what position I slept in and since then every time I turn around I’ve been waking up.
Because of this I’m a light sleeper but even before this any slight noise would wake me up, be it someone creeping up on me and hearing the carpet mush or feeling their aura around me, each would wake me up. The past few night’s I’ve been waking up with so much markings on my body from the bed sheets being folded under me I started resembling a wheat field with strange UFO markings.
A Motorbike Past an Old Flame
Today in the afternoon I couldn’t bear sleeping on my bed anymore after getting back for the Gym and for a small nap in the extreme humidity I tried sleeping on the floor, didn’t work. Heading to the Gym around 4:30 p.m. after playing some Play Station, sun baking outside and having a shower I made my way.
Halfway down the street I bumped into Jett who rode up the street and stopped to chat with me. He was on the way to my house to collect the Play Station so he could play a new game he rented so I jumped on the back of his motorbike without a helmet to make the two second trip to my house.
Driving past Kelly’s house I noticed her looking our way and was wondering what must have been going through her mind. Aaaaaages ago I got onto her, before she became the walrus that she is now so I wonder what she would have been thinking seeing me getting doubled on the back of a motorbike. She did look attentively and then turned around to have a second look so I know she was thinking something.
Zubin Warns Me Off Bench
Anyway, Jett took back his Play Station leaving some of the unnecessary parts at my house. From there Jett doubled me halfway down to the Gym and I had my workout. While setting up Bench Press I did feel the twitch once again in my Chest and knew that if I worked it out heavy I would tear my peck more than what I had already done. I know this from instinct and a gut feeling that I’ve stressed part of my Chest tendon and speaking to Zubin today he told me to lay off heavy Chest exercises and pullovers.
Don’t do my Wide Grip Lat Pulldowns to the back of the body as it would also bring the Chest into an unwanted stretch. Zubin informed me in his hard toned voice that all sorts of Fly’s and Cable Crossovers would be my best bet for the next couple of weeks, after all, Bench Pressing is only for the ego he boasts. That basically is true as I do get a high when I lift heavy on Bench and notice others twice the size of me lifting relatively the same weight.
I’m not there to rub it in their face, I’m just there to lift the heaviest I can but I’m happy that it’s the weight that I push now. Alas, once again my training has slowed and is almost brought to a stop with another injury just as I was once again getting on top of things. Here I am, new records all over the place and now I’m going to have to tone it down and I’ll probably be afraid to lift heavy on Bench Press again. Despite that, here is my workout for the day…
Chest Day in a Sweatbox
Chest: Starting my day with a two minute warm-up on the bike I moved to Peck Deck Fly’s to perform 20 reps with 60 pounds. Moving to Bench Press I tried out 80 pounds for a warm-up but noticed a pull on the right side of my Chest so I scrapped heavy weights. On top of that it was putridly hot and there was no air conditioning in the Gym so I had a headache which I took a Panadol for. Moving to Machine Bench Press with 160 pounds I managed 9 reps out of my first set.
Moving down to Incline Dumbbell Press with 60 pounders I powered out 12 reps for my first set and then on my last I just managed 9 reps with the same weight, pretty awesome. Moving to Bench Press again I loaded the bar up with 140 pounds but only after being able to accomplish 5 reps I pushed off. Heading to Peck Deck Fly’s I loaded up the stack to 130 pounds and pushed out 8 quality reps and then 2 crunch reps.
Taking down the weight to 120 pounds I performed 10 more easy reps. Moving to Cable Crossovers I performed 10 standing reps with 40 pounds and immediately bending over I finished off 10 more reps. Two more sets followed, one being with 140 pounds and 10 reps on Seated Machine Bench Press. Lastly I picked up 60 pounds above my head and performing pullovers completed 10 reps. Once more I tried this for a second set and once more I completed 10 reps with the same weight.
Sweatiest Guy in the Gym
Biceps: By now my sweat was running profusely down my face and to look at me in the mirror I could see nothing but a waterfall of water. Benches would be drenched if I just sat on them to rest, my heart was pumping adamantly and every second a drop of sweat would make its way to my chin and then drop. No bullshit, I was the sweatiest guy in the Gym for the day and I would probably be one of the sweatiest of all time.
Anyway, I started with a warm-up on Standing Cable Curl with 35 pounds and 10 reps. Placing the weight right up to 65 pounds I diligently performed 10 reps. Next was Preacher Cable Curls and with 40 pounds I just managed 9 reps before conking out. Second Last I performed a set of Alternate Dumbbell Curls with 30 pounders for 8 reps. Lastly I used Concentration Curls with 25 pounds and 10 reps for each arm.
Abdominals: I’m pretty sure that my right shoulder is taller than my left shoulder due to now being lob-sided because of weights and a domineering right arm but all I can do is recompense with the other arm. By now my body was tired and tortured so abdominals did not come easy but I did not give up. The first two sets were with 30 reps and 30 pounds resistance upon that. The third set I was meant to do 30 reps but I broke them up into half with a pause in between. Lastly I raised the weight to 60 pounds and pumped out 10 last and final reps.
Calling Lyssa Back
Scooting off back home I done nothing for the rest of the night until I figured I should call Lyssa. Coming back home the time was around 6:45 p.m. and gathering that Lyssa would be home I bit my lip and gave her a call. Knowing she would possibly be angry for me not going to the City for her she had no real right to be angry about that.
At first her brother answered the phone and when she first got on it didn’t sound too promising. Getting our issue out of the way Lyssa told me that she was angry when I hung up the phone on her but she has to realize that I was half asleep with only three or so hours to my name. Anyway, Lyssa and I talked and she informed me that everyone is making plans for Kuper’s party tomorrow, running around the house and all.
Lyssa on the other hand was outside having a smoke while talking to me. Lyssa informed me that Carleigh and Kuper have once again announced that they are getting married and are now once again engaged. Pity I the fools that show love so sparsely and use such love for fear of desolation. They are supposed to get married in July of the year 2000 but let’s see how long this one lasts and how much arguments will break up their commitments.
