Midnight Poetry Habit
We’re coming to the point where writing before midnight is too early and after that would be a sin. But here I am writing just after midnight because I’ve been working so hard on some poetry. That is, I’ve created two Sonnets, one in the afternoon and one an hour and a half ago. Poetry is a full time event for me these days and lately I thank my stars that I am writing much more lavishly and proficiently.
It will be a sad day when I start to work and this job will diminish from these dozen poems I write a month to a lousy four or five. The first Sonnet I wrote which I will unto here first place was depicted for the lost years, one about time that I spoke of yesterday. The other came to me when I got inspired by my older poems and mostly by a line of ten syllables that became the first line of the Sonnet.
With my inspired state and my thoughts in mind I kept writing my second Sonnet around 11:00 p.m. tonight and what do you know, it’s been created. Well, let me now include the first Sonnet of the night that depicts the lost years as being like time’s engineer. In essence, time’s engineer weaves together the seconds, minutes, hours and years into harmony. The same do I of the lost years as depicted in the last two lines, let me elaborate…
Three Kings Of Time
The Lost Years in like matter art like time’s engineer
(‘The Lost Years’ Sonnets)
Time is our master of continuance,
And lords suchlike make his legal body,
Crowned has he thrice, grand King’s of eminence,
That each, past, present, future embodies,
King of destiny, is one native heath,
Of current attendance, of all that precedes,
Kings shall to Princes, reign of years bequeath,
And all that beneath, commandeth yon liege,
His weeks and months are to nobles bestowed,
Foot soldiers guard minutes and Knights serve hours,
These peasants art vassals in seconds sowed,
Who fleetly die and grow like earth’s flowers,
Yet I with time’s eye and prince’s fair wool,
Have weaved ‘The Lost Years’ that fair Kings now rule,
Kings Princes And Peasants
Time itself is the highest ruler of all in this depiction of itself and as time is eternal it is it’s own master of continuance (1.1). But time could not handle all the facets of itself to make himself run smoothly so he gives praise to his engineer. The engineer being all under his rule that make time work. His three King’s (1.2) who time crowned for three different purposes (1.3). One of the King’s ruled over the Future (1.4), being the King of destiny.
One ruled over the present (1.5) being King of current attendance and the other ruled over the past being King of all that precedes. These three King’s only look over all that fall under them and they lay claim to whoever dwells in their land. To explain more precisely, each King own a province of land or as I depicted, a heath. Time rules over all the land and these three provinces but the three King’s who take up each state act as earls.
Thus, the land of past, present and future, divided by a distinct line.
King’s of course have Princes in wait of their throne’s but until then they reign over what is handed down from time’s worries. Thus princes of King’s shall take responsibility and their names into years (1.7) which they must govern as if it were wealth. As the ‘chain of being’ follows through, all that is beneath Princes (1.8) are controlled by them.
Thus, Time controls King’s and all else, King’s have authority over Princes and all else but father time. Princes with laws have influence over noblemen, foot soldiers, knights, peasants and vassals and so forth for the rest down the list. Prince hands responsibility down to a nobleman where he bestows upon them the duty of months and weeks (1.9). Time is wealth and money, let us establish that now.
Time Is Wealth
And these nobles, like any that are given land from the King to dwell upon, they like vassals owe their hand and therefor the Prince directs these chores upon them, like tax collectors. The weeks and months to their name is like money to their pocket. Where one second is like one cent, one year to a Prince is worth a million dollars to his name.
And to time itself, the eternity that comes to his name is the greatest wealth.
As noblemen are in charge of tallying the wealth of weeks and months (1.9) the Prince commands foot soldiers to guard minute’s and Knight’s with valor to secure hours (1.10). The reason for this fortification of these lesser times are so that peasants and vassals like the slaves they are do not steal more than they are worth. When this does happen it would explain how some minutes or hours in the day seem shorter as Knight’s and soldiers are short of wealth.
On the other hand these peasants who fleetly die (1.12) die because they try to live longer than the second they famine within (1.11). The more quicker the peasant’s killed in time, the more wealth Knights obtain and time’s extra wealth over the fall of a day means some days seem prolonged. So Knight’s and Foot Soldier’s guard the peasant’s activity, they kill when out of line and roll in their greed.
Peasants Grow Like Flowers
But, considering there are an immense number of peasants compared to the guards of time and those of high class they grow in numbers much more immensely. As described in line (1.12) the vassals of time being the seconds they embody ‘grow like earth’s flowers’, and there is an abundance of plant life, just think of corn.
The last two lines place into comprehension the similarities between time and myself with the lost years. Basically, how I had time and all other’s below him help me set a season for the lost years which will now become an era, a pinnacle of my poetic life. ‘Prince’s fair wool’ in line (1.13) explains how I have weaved with Prince’s reign over years my period for the lost years. Sure there were so much seconds and so many days in the lost years but a much better measurement would be to say it lasted two years, 1997-1998 and thus, the Prince is the better option.
When I speak that ‘Fair Kings now rule’ (1.14) I mean to say that the King of all preceding being the ‘Past’ now controls the events and memories of the lost years. When I think upon the lost years now, the King of current attendance which is the ‘Present’ takes the reigns and moves those thoughts from Past’s land to his. One more point to add…
Where Spirits Go
The King of all preceding is where all are buried and much is barren but the thoughts they hold. Minutes and time in this territory have no place and would be frozen within themselves as past does not carry time but hold it. The King of current attendance is where the travail of peasants and vassals are worked. This is where Foot Soldiers become Knight’s and with wealth they become noblemen. Princes become King’s and one day they too must decease and be sent to the land of the Past King.
The spirit of all becomes part of the realm of The King of destiny. You could say this is an elevated land where the border you cross is a step to your souls heaven in time. This in attendance is what speaks to your ears and these thoughts that become of you in your mind are whispers of future’s angels coming to present time. This of course is all matter and this is the matter of time. So, your spirit floats to heavenly future’s realm and your corpse to the remains of the past.

Diary Of A Mad Chaos is a daily diary written from March 1996 until today, of which individual books and book series have been created, namely “The Lost Years” an exploration of young, entwined love, the “Wubao In China (猎艳奇缘)” book series which provides an extensive comparative analysis of the cultural differences between Eastern and Western societies, and the book titled “Foreigner (华人)” an exploration of race relations in Australia.
