Remembering the Fig Tree
These early morning hours mark not only the remembrance of Imad’s birthday but something more significant yet surreal. Today marks the withering that began on this day two years ago between Jewell and I. It also marks the blight that became of my trust in love. Far from that truth, it marks the equidistant of love’s surreal nature and the dawning of love’s truth in poetry.
Jewell was the first remnants of what could have been love and although I lost love’s truth, I found love in the poetry that came from that loss. Thus, that day two years ago to this day where we sat under that fig tree was equidistant of the two sides of love, real and surreal. If I were to have a laptop I would head to the City and sit under that fig tree to gather thoughts and reminisce upon the remnants of a surreal love but although I have the means I do not have the mechanism.
A Poem for a Stranger
Before I begin another short chronology of my day’s outbreak let me recite another poem that I have elucidated from my mind unto paper, well, the computer. The thought dawned upon me after thinking of the beautiful girl that I had seen when I was out tonight.
Wondering what would be a great line to use that will attract a woman and not repel her with the sleaze she is used to I came u with the initial first two lines and then added upon it. Whether I will ever deem this line usable or even remember it to use it is vague to my perception but flattery will be foremost if a lady acts like a lady. Here now is the six line poem which I don’t know the name for just yet but I do know it has a name.
Beauty hath never served a finer face,
A true goddess of such befalls my eyes,
And these eyes thou thole, shall thine not erase,
Thy sweet smile, honey locks, chaste and bronzed guise,
Bestow thy hand and I shall hither kiss,
For a chance missed to kiss thee, shall not miss,
Explaining the Word Thole
Just to quickly explain it, line (1.1) says that I have never seen someone as beautiful or beauty has never served a better subject than what I am seeing. Such that the lady I am viewing is of beauty that comes only to a goddess and her beauty occurs in front of my eyes. ‘Thole’ simply means to be affected or exposed to, usually meaning something bad.
Thus, she affects and exposes my eyes to her beauty and the afflicting part of her beauty is the lust that derives from my head over heels attitude. On top of that, I shall never forget the sight of her eyes and the beauty within, her sweet smile, honey locks of hair, how pure and chaste she looks or her bronze-like tanned skin. The final couplet reads offer me your hand and I shall kiss it because I will not pass the chance or opportunity to kiss you if I have that opportunity.
Temping Agencies Everywhere
Getting now to chronology, you will find that I did keep myself awake all of Monday morning and at 8:30 a.m. I started to get ready for my journey. Hoping that dad would wake up soon after and he would take me there and back I ran some errands.
Firstly, I called some of the employers from the Sunday Telegraph seeking work but I found all the places I was calling were temping agencies that had those positions advertised. The world of temping agencies has really put a damper on finding a job these days because it makes it that one step harder to get a job. All these resumes that I have sent out and still no assistance. It would be much easier if employers just went back to employing themselves through the paper but it won’t come back to that.
Shower on the Bathroom Floor
When the time arrived to 9:00 a.m. I had myself a shower to wake up and in there I closed my eyes because I knew the water would relax me but it would also keep me awake. That was heaven as I sat on the bathroom floor with my eyes closed and it did carry on for almost half an hour but it had to cease at some time.
Coming out of the shower I walked into my room and started to dry myself when dad knocked on my door. Hearing sweet words that would make my legs free from getting tired my dad asked if I wanted a lift to Campbelltown to hand my form in. He himself had to head out there to attend some business for a cheap alarm clock he bought, it didn’t work. Thus, I got myself ready and in ten minutes we were ready to head out.
A Fax Machine Wins
Dropping mum off at Bradbury shops we firstly made our way to the link where I handed in my form instantly and having a Resume to fax off to one of the businesses I headed around the corner to where the free fax machine was held. Finding a cover sheet I was a bit iffy as to remembering how to use a fax machine but I knew it wasn’t that hard. Picking up the receiver and dialing as I put in the paper I got a busy tone and tried again.
This kept on for a couple of rings and then I finally realized that the number was one digit too long. Trying the other number on the paper it also had a busy signal so I was either doing something wrong with the fax machine or it just wasn’t letting me do what I wanted to do. Vagrantly I pondered upon the fax machine until I finally just gave up and headed back to dad where he was double parked and waiting in the parking lot.
Borrowing Three Dubious Books
Our next place of visit was the library where I asked him to leave me so he could get his business done and come back. In that time I made my way to the Shakespeare collection and borrowed three books. One of them was just a book of medieval miracle plays which didn’t have anything to do with Shakespeare but the other two did. One of them being called ‘Shakespeare Stories’ writes his playwright epics as stories and I find this a tad more than boring and dull in language context.
The third book might not even be a play by Shakespeare as it is the controversial ‘Lost Play’ called ‘Edmund Ironside’. Browsing through the text that is said to be his I see no real resemblance as it does use plenty of context that Shakespeare doesn’t use beginning with his mixing of archaic and modern personal pronouns. What I’m trying to say is that these three books are probably shit.
Sleeping Through the Afternoon
Heading back home from Campbelltown I didn’t even consider heading to the Gym in my state is I didn’t want to borrow money from mum. Therefore, when the time was near midday I had myself get to sleep as I was getting tired.
7:00 p.m. was when I actually came to be awake but two hours before this I was contemplating me rise but my tired eyes told me different. Making my way upstairs I was grumpy upon waking up and what made me more grumpy was that there was hardly much food for me to eat. Having mum make me something I sat on the sofa upstairs and watched some television in comfort and when my food was prepared I made my way to my room.
Lyssa and the Autumn Fade
The night was getting on and I was wondering if I should call Lyssa but I chose against it. Lyssa and I didn’t get to talk for the night but now I remember how she told me that she was heading to College after work so that means she would have had no time to call.
However, with the slow decapitation of what was a blooming relationship I foresee that Lyssa and I will continue this passing that will see the end of this month. What’s more, I believe that it will continue with the tradition of Autumn. My friendship with Lyssa will keep withering these Autumn days and next month will almost make our relationship extinct. Right now I am still surviving upon the embers of Summer as shown in this month’s title but next month the embers will have all but extinguished and there will be no embers left, only memories and withering.
