Fighting Words Before Back Day (Part 3) – Mad Chaos: January 27, 1999

The Long Way Home

The time was around 4:30 p.m. when we left Miranda Westfield’s. Keith was trying to muscle the front seat from me and as Keith and I wrestled each other off the door handle Ralf refused to open the door. “Make a decision” he said and I knew that I didn’t want to sit in the back seat with all the music and since I was in the front on the way down it was reasonable I stay there. Keith finally gave up and sat in the back seat.

Jumping in the car myself I turned around and gave him a big grin and that was widened when Ralf decided to put on the music, loud. For the whole trip home Ralf was playing his music loudly and the funny thing is it’s not that deafening up the front but to Keith the continual thumping would have been giving him a migraine. Depending on who’s perspective you take this from the trip home could have been seen as relatively hilarious, nauseating or concentration packed.

I’ll let you figure out who fits to what but I’ll just say that the trip back to Campbelltown which was taken the longest way possible took over an hour and a half. Ralf I must once again say doesn’t know how to drive and the simplest directions he would confuse within his mind to make one street away into five streets close. We stopped off at a service station on the way home where Keith complained about Ralf taking ages and sitting in the back seat.

Ringing Lyssa Back

Altogether, it must have taken two hours to get back home with our stops and little cruise around Campbelltown but once I was home I was glad. Once home I asked my mum if anyone had called but she told me that there were no calls. Later on I found out that Lyssa had called me at 6:00 p.m. and being 6:30 p.m. or later when I got home I gave Lyssa a call almost immediately regardless. Actually, the time must have been around 7:00 p.m. that I decided to give Lyssa a call. Our conversations have been getting more harsh and resentful on Lyssa’s behalf as time progresses after my avoidance began.

Lyssa informed me in her apathetic manner that she had taken Monday off from College. That didn’t make sense to me because Lyssa wanted to study hard for College but I listened on. “Today I spent the day in Parramatta with Ali and Penelope,” she noted. Lyssa then went on to boast “We went shopping and I didn’t get home until 6:00 p.m. tonight.” “Are Ali and Penelope back together now after their huge break up” I asked Lyssa and she answered with “I’m not sure what they are doing.”

Lyssa wasn’t being very helpful with her answers and when I tried to ask why Lyssa wasn’t caring about heading off to College if she was already in Parramatta she uttered “It’s none of your concern.” Them is fighting words I must agree and with that tone used against me I wasn’t too happy to continue. Lyssa was sounding harsh towards me and advising her that I had to leave for the Gym some time soon she was fine with that.

Lyssa and I only talked for ten minutes and after Lyssa said what was to be said and I got sick of Lyssa’s bad temper towards me we said goodbye. Lyssa advised me that she was headed out anyway but I didn’t give her the benefit of the doubt to ask anything of it and get jealous. After my conversation had ended I had myself something very quick to eat and then grabbing myself a towel I headed to the Gym.

Cars and Conversation at the Gym

The time was near 7:15 p.m. when I finally decided to leave for the Gym and when I arrived there I chatted to some people and started to feel the confidence in my emotional and mental well being. As far as my physical aspect goes I felt like the weight I was pushing wasn’t doing anything for me.

Rather, it felt like pushing a huge weight without any kind of warm-up and without a warm-up the exercise is practically useless. Entering the Gym I noticed an Asian guy driving a T18 and finding it to be a nice car I kept a thought in my mind to talk to him later. While at the Gym the guy that knows Kuper and Osama and used to be a year below me in Airds came up to chat with me.

We chatted a couple of times through my workout and as I kept cutting conversation to get back to my workout I think I taught him priority. The Asian guy that drove the T18 was also a person I talked to. This time around I casually approached him jumping off my stationary bike. He was talking to some guy from the Gym while having been seated right next to me on an bike and saying “Excuse me” I then asked if he owned the car out the front.

Basically, after that we chatted about how I have taken a shine to the T18 style and as he told me he was going to sell it for $2000 in the next couple of months I informed him he could chat to me next time he sees me in the Gym. Asking his name he told me he was called Pepsi and I knew I’d heard his name mentioned before. Anyway, I found out today by Keith that Binh knows Pepsi’s brother Perrin, they are good friends. So next time I see Pepsi I might say that. Anyway, here’s my Monday workout around 7:30 p.m. where it began.

Back Day Log

Back: Feeling as if I wasn’t going to have a good workout from the start I found it to be true. The exercises I do for widening the back are constant and that has led me to become stale. Regardless of that, I warmed up on the bikes for 2 minutes and then headed up for a warming up on the machines. My first heavy set was with 160 pounds on Neutral Grip Lat Pulldowns. Pausing slightly I pulled down the weight a total of ten times before giving up.

Moving now to Close Grip Reverse Pulldowns I stacked up 170 pounds and with that pounded out 10 reps. Around this time was when I had seen that beautiful girl with the Chinese Skirt. Back to business, my next set was with 160 pounds on Close Grip Lat Pulldowns for 12 reps. The weight felt wrong in my hands and I was jerking it down rather than controlling the pace. Moving back to Wide Grip Lat Pulldowns I done 10 reps with 140 pounds to my back.

Making my way to Lat Pushdowns with 220 pounds I performed 12 reps. Seated Cable Rows was really making me stale and I should take the weight down for a week or two. Instead, after a warm-up I pounded the weight up to 150 pounds to perform 12 reps. Moving to One Arm Dumbbell Rows with 80 pounds I performed 12 reps per arm for two sets. My last set was with T-Bar Rows and with 100 pounds I performed 10 reps.

Triceps and Abs Finish

Triceps: Beginning with a warm-up on Triceps Pushdowns I chased the weight up to 80 pounds and struggled to get it down 12 times. Moving to Lying Cable Extensions with 65 pounds I performed 12 reps. Moving now to Overhead Dumbbell Extensions I performed 2 sets of 10 reps with 60 pounds.

Abdominals: Starting with my now usual 30 Low Ab Crunches, all the reps were from side oblique to side oblique. Moving to Machine Ab Crunches with 40 pounds I performed 30 reps. Moving once more to Low Ab Crunches I performed another set with 30 reps. In case I didn’t mention this before (Or maybe it was done in this workout) but I performed one set of Low Ab Crunches for 20 reps with 20 pounds upon my Chest.

Beach Tan Tiredness

Now I’ve explained the first half of my Monday night and there still is more to tell about seeing Rory and Daffa that night but I will leave that to a better time. Once again time has exceeded me and even though it is only 4:09 a.m. The reason I’m more tired now is that I’ve just been at the beach all day with Ralf soaking up that summer sun.

I’m tanned and that usually brings along a tiredness to your system that I am feeling now. Tomorrow I will also explain my day for Tuesday, how Ralf picked me up around 12:30 p.m. and we headed to Cronulla. The beach was packed and while there I met up with a great looking Macedonian chick but I guess you will have to read on to find out the important details I much tire now to write.
