A Forgotten Workout

What an idiot… From all the hocus pocus that was going on before I forgot to mention my Gym workout for Saturday, how could I have missed it. So for that reason I’m going to remember it in these early hours of morning where I obviously sit at home without Lyssa’s presence and without having been at Lyssa’s house for another holiday. I tried giving Lyssa a call from the movies but no one answered the phone so I just gathered that Lyssa had gone out with Penelope like she told me she probably would and ended up sleeping at her house.

Well, I just gave Lyssa’s house a ring and like the three times I rang beforehand in the night it rang for a very long time with no one picking up. Nevertheless, just as I was thinking about hanging up near the 20th ring someone picked up the phone and with a groggy voice and half dazed she said “Hello” in a curious voice.

Twenty Rings In The Dark

At 2:40 a.m. Lyssa was in bed asleep and as I asked her how long she had been home she told me all night. Lyssa never did go out with Penelope tonight and she went to sleep at 9:30 p.m. and has been sleeping since. The times that I called her from Greater Union Lyssa must have been sound asleep where the ten or so rings wouldn’t have woken her from her slumber.

So I’ve just had a little chat with Lyssa asking her if she was alright in her half asleep mood and as she went to the toilet and came back to the phone I let her get back to sleep so she wouldn’t be scared of being alone, just asleep. Despite this information let me get to what I have missed over the past two nights and that has been Saturday’s workout…

Saturday Chest Day

Chest: Starting with my two minute bike ride I stopped and for something different I completed 15 easy reps on Machine Leg Press with 80 pounds for a warm-up. Peck Deck Fly’s was my first Chest set to start with and packing on only 90 pounds I performed 20 reps. Increasing the weight to a record 150 pounds I didn’t know if I would be able to complete any reps but to my surprise the Creatine and my muscles worked to complete 15 full reps. Pausing for a little while I decided to try that weight again only to amazingly belt out 12 more reps.

Moving to Machine Bench Press I put the weight up to 160 pounds and completed 10 reps. Moving to Cable Crossovers I loaded the weight up with 50 pounds and once again completed 12 reps. Lowering the weight to 40 pounds I performed one more set of 12 reps. Now bending over and with 60 pounds for Bent Over Cable Crossovers I performed 12 reps. My last two sets were of Incline Dumbbell Fly’s and starting with 45 pounders I completed 10 reps. My last set was with the same weight for another 10 reps.

Biceps: God I love working out my Biceps, it gives me such a pump. My first set was for warming up and with 30 pounds on Standing Cable Curls I performed 12 reps. Pushing the weight up to 65 pounds I finally achieved myself 10 reps without faltering, it’s time to move up. Now with 35 pound dumbbells in my hand I performed 10 reps of alternate dumbbell curls where it was hard all the way though but somehow I managed another rep after each rep I thought I would fail on.

Lastly I moved to Preacher Cable Curls and with 40 pounds I performed 8 reps then took the weight down to 20 pounds to finish off with 6 reps that even made the hair on my balls sweat.

Abdominals: Starting on Machine Ab Crunches with 40 pounds I was buggered but completed my first leg of 30 reps. I continued for two more sets of 30 reps each with the same weight sweating my ass off and tiring easily. My last set was on Low Ab Crunches where I was able to perform 10 reps before conking out.

Movie Night Starts

Well there you have it, my workout at the Gym and that’s pretty much all I have to say before I head off. I’ll just note that tonight was good except for the walk home but that too had its bonuses. Keith picked me up soon after my conversation with Lyssa which was around 9:00 p.m. Getting dressed we parked the car and headed for Greater Union. ‘The Prince Of Egypt’ had already started so Keith and Noah didn’t want to go up.

Keith walked to the door and so did I because there was no one there and as they didn’t want to come in I told them I would watch the movie and then call them when I was finished. By then Keith and Noah would have watched their movie where they wanted to see ‘Siege’. ‘The Prince Of Egypt’ was a fairly good movie but not exceptional. As most animated movies are it didn’t last for more than an hour and a half and I was out by 10:30 p.m.

Pillows On The Floor

Looking around for Keith after my movie had finished I couldn’t find him so I tried giving Lyssa’s house a call for the first time. There were hundreds of people sitting on the ground at the cinemas lining up for movies and I didn’t understand why there were so many people waiting in line. The thought didn’t click to me that the movie marathon was on, you see I don’t look at details.

Letting the phone ring ten times I hung up figuring that Lyssa was out with Penelope. Lyssa informed me that Penelope wanted to do something for her last day of holidays but she was at home sleeping when Lyssa informed me. Penelope didn’t have any sleep from their night spend at the entrance where Lyssa had herself just under an hour’s worth. Penelope was sleeping through the day but Lyssa, even though tired was awake. Penelope didn’t end up meeting with Lyssa as you have probably noticed.

Walking to look for Keith’s car I noticed it wasn’t there and on the way back inside to ring him I spotted Simon with his two friends wanting to head for the movie marathon. Having a little chat to him we headed inside so I could look at all the young girls dressed up and sitting with their pillows on the floor waiting for the movies to start. Saying goodbye to him I headed outside one last time and while there Keith drove past and told me to meet him in Greater Union.

Pretty Girls Win Again

Walking back inside I met up with him in the car park only to hear that he wanted to go to the movie marathon because his movie was playing at that time only. Keith tried to persuade me to come but I didn’t feel like watching another movie and besides, I wanted to see if I could still get in contact with Lyssa when I got home or if she would try and call me if she was out with Penelope.

Keith started driving me home trying to persuade me to stay and just up the street I buckled and told him to turn around mainly because of all the pretty girls that were there. It’s all part of my neurotic disorder which I will call ‘Genitite Disorder’ the neurotic disorder where you must be around women you find attractive or the case of stress will occur. Keith bought his ticket along with Noah and he informed me he would come straight back out and give me a ticket.

Caught With The Ticket

Well I waited and as he came back out we walked into the toilets so he could give me the extra butt. I walked out before Keith did and walking to the person collecting the tickets I knew from the corner of my eye that he knew what was going on. As I walked to him he looked at my ticket butt then at me and then informed me that four people walked out and I wasn’t one of them. For a minute I tried arguing with him that I bought a ticket but it was useless and I turned back around.

Not bothering to look for Keith or explain what happened I circled around outside for a little while, tried calling Lyssa again and then headed home on foot. On the way home I dropped into the catholic club to ask if I could use their phone figuring it would be better for me to catch a taxi from Campbelltown if I had to travel to Lyssa’s house. Once again there was no answer and Lyssa informed me that she thought it was someone else’s phone that was ringing so she didn’t bother to answer it.

Walking Home With Blisters

The rest of the trek home I took my new shoes off because they gave me a blister on the back of my foot because I wore ripped socks once. Getting home I checked to see if Lyssa had called but there were no missed calls. For a couple of hours I have been playing computer and until just recently I remembered that I hadn’t written about my gym routine. I’ve also called Lyssa about twenty minutes ago now but I’ve already mentioned that.

This is probably the first time in Lyssa’s life that she’s ever had to sleep home alone and as much as it terrifies her I think it is character building for her. Lyssa’s just afraid that there’s no one home to protect her if something goes wrong but she will be alright. If something did happen and Lyssa called me telling me something life threatening there’s no worries that I’d find the quickest way to her house, be it taxi or waking up my dad in this time of the morning for a lift.

Well, I’ve explained all and more than I cared to so I’m going to get back to the game I once thought as stressful but now I have passed that part of the stage. Well, be off I say until another day…
