A Headache From Fake Smokes
Now I am here filling in the gaps of my night and from what I thought would be another lonely night turned out to be alright. Smoking that toilet paper has started to give me a slight headache but it shouldn’t really because I barely inhaled any. Image what I would be like if I had beer for the first time or any sort of alcohol. Would I be the type of drunk to scream and holler all night or would I be the type to just sit there quiet and fucked up.
Tomorrow I have to get myself to the Gym, well rather I have to get there when I wake up today. There is barely any food left in the house for me to eat so I’m going to have to buy some shit from the shops on the way back. Not only do I want to pay off my Credit Card with my money but I also want to buy some moisturizer, waxing gel for my legs and some shavers for my face. On top of that I’ll save some money for the weekend incase we head out to Sublime for Simon’s birthday before everyone heads off to go fishing.
Lifting Theory Takes Over
Before I head off let me speak of my theory on lifting poundage at the Gym opposed to the force you use. Let us place an example first. Take me for example with my Bench Press and 160 pounds being my heaviest set these days where I can lift it around 10 times. Now take a golden rule in my newly made laws of physics. Actually let’s forget my law for now, what I’m trying to say here is that Power and Exertion are two completely different things.
If I was to exert the same amount of Energy as I did for Power the bar would not move. In other words, if I was exerting 160 pounds of Energy in my lift the weight would not move anywhere because the Resistance of the weight being 160 pounds also would cancel each other out. Again, in other words, if I exerted the same amount of force (Measured in poundage like that on the bar) as that of the Resistance on the bar I would not be achieving anything but depleting myself of energy.
Sure my body is going to benefit from that exertion even though it didn’t go through the whole motion towards overall Strength. What I’m trying to create is a formula to show how much exertion you are creating when you force that weight up and down for as many reps as you do. To word it differently I want to know if I’m pushing (Or Exerting) at 180 pounds of force when the Resistance (Or you could say the poundage on the bar) is set at 160 pounds. Each successive rep exerts less force because you are running out of energy and endurance to Duration.
What I want to find is the magical area of time, exertion and endurance where I can benefit most from lifting heavy weights and where I can last longer as well as create more overall strength in less time. I know this all sounds crazy but if I had myself a wizard at mathematics and formulas then I might just be able to create that formula of scientific factors for Bodybuilding. Alas, since I’m not neither a genius at Mathematics or creating formula’s let me just write down what I have been dabbling for the past half an hour and see if any geniuses in the near future can help me work out some formulas.
The Formula List
Exertion – is to push with force and magnitude where magnitude is Resistance.
Power, is to sustain or hold in place with equaled force.
Strength – Heaviest Resistance lifted for one rep.
Energy, is consumable under resistance when using power and/or exertion.
Stamina-Endurance, is duration of time you prolong under exertion and power
Resistance, where resistance is poundage.
Duration, does not matter in many equations except where exertion is produced.
Power and Exertion greater or equal to Resistance benefits overall Strength.
Power is equal to Resistance as Duration constantly depletes Energy.
When you have no Power to Exert the Resistance you have depleted all Energy stores.
Where Power does not exceed Resistance the weight shall begin to fall with gravity and hopeful forming of lactic acid.
Exertion and Power go hand in hand as Energy and Endurance are similar.
Duration affects Endurance along with Energy as a result of Power and Exertion over Resistance and Duration.
Energy is consumed as soon as you lift the bar, to do with Calories.
If you can keep a steady Tempo of reps exactly the same in Duration per rep you have a perfect balance of Power and Exertion opposed to Resistance.
More Exertion to lift Resistance faster.
More Endurance to lift Resistance slower.
Both measures of Duration per repetition are depleted of constant Energy but at different rates and dependant upon the Resistance factor.
Exertion = Power over Resistance
Power = Resistance over Time
Decreased Energy = Power + Exertion over Time + Resistance
Decreased Energy = Endurance + Time over Resistance
Nominal lift weight per rep = 160 but I’m Exerting 180 pounds
Resistance + Exertion over Time
1 Rep = Energy / Endurance
Machines That Beep
These are my probable formulas but so far I’ve tried to use numbers with them but they have just been giving me the runaround. I hope that you have great satisfaction in picking up where I left off which is practically in limbo. These formulas are giving me a headache to find them out but think about the possibilities.
Correct formulas used at the Gym could be like a drug and imagine if you had machines that could show you how much exertion you were creating and how much energy you were expending. This little machine could also beep faster when you need to exert more and beep slower when you need to exert less. When the tempo of the beeps are every second could be where you are exerting yourself perfectly as is your use of endurance and energy.
I know that this formula is possible because they have already worked out how to measure calories burnt on the stationary bikes at Olympus Gym. There is a Resistance button which sets it higher or lower accordingly to ten different levels. Therefor, I believe the formula for calories burned would have something to do with Exertion, Duration and Resistance. The probable formula for calories burnt is probably Exertion over Resistance and Duration.
Not a Maths Genius
Now that the time is 5:06 a.m. I have to get off my Diary but be sure that I won’t let these formulas go to waste. If only I had myself a degree in mathematics and listened more when formulas were being explained to me. Heck, I took two unit mathematics but taking a second look at my work, most of that shit would go right over my head.
From being a poet, a lyricist, Shakespearean embellisher, anatomical analyzer, bodybuilding fanatic, computer prodigy, graphic designer, music script writer and typing wizard I find it a very hard stretch to become a Mathematical Genius as much as I find it hard to produce Scientific Formula’s for practice in reality. With that I lay my claim to rest and get myself a rest for tomorrow’s harsh day of realism…

Diary Of A Mad Chaos is a daily diary written from March 1996 until today, of which individual books and book series have been created, namely “The Lost Years” an exploration of young, entwined love, the “Wubao In China (猎艳奇缘)” book series which provides an extensive comparative analysis of the cultural differences between Eastern and Western societies, and the book titled “Foreigner (华人)” an exploration of race relations in Australia.
