Back: Deciding to give back the advantage this workout I noticed straight away that my back had more power. This I gathered was from swimming at the beach as I easily performed my hard sets. Warming up with 40 pounds on Wide Grip Lat Pulldowns I performed 12 reps then placing the weight up to 80 pounds performed 12 more reps. Resting for some time I took the weight down to 70 pounds and performed 10 more reps. Next was Seated Cable Rows and after a warm-up I took the weight to 110 pounds and performed 10 reps then another 10 reps with some rest. The last set was with 60 pound Dumbbells and I easily performed 10 reps per hand.
Biceps: By this time I was starting to get tired and warming up on Standing Cable Curls I performed a set of 6 reps with 60 pounds. Moving to Preacher Curls I performed 10 reps with 30 pounds. Moving to Alternate Dumbbell Curls with 35 pounds I performed 4 reps then took down the weight to 30 pound dumbbells and performed 4 more reps.
Abdominals: This was the last of the pack and starting with Cable Crunches and 35 pounds I performed 15 reps. One more set of that for 15 reps was enough for me to move to Machine Ab Crunches and perform two sets. The first was for 30 reps with 30 pounds and the second was for 20 hard reps with 50 pounds.
Before I left for the Gym I came back home with thoughts of the poems that I had written for Lyssa. Thinking that those poems were well written and not only creative but from the heart (Even though my heart is confusing with words sometimes) I reminisced on how Lyssa felt when she first received them. Lyssa has so much of my heart in her hands, you can’t get that kind of love from going out to the movies together and holding hands or eating at a restaurant. Rather, the thoughts that shape my poems came from feelings of when Lyssa and I were closest to each other. That closeness turned to love and that love was expressed with poetry. My love to also give Lyssa as much as I could with my money and watch her face light up was also evident but that was lost when I lost my source of income. These paragraphs that I write are usually without meaning but mine is that I still love Lyssa with all my heart and more to this day. My days aren’t spent reminiscing on times Lyssa and I had together, rather I think about Lyssa’s attitude and perspective on life and it fits me so well. Lyssa suits me so well, our personalities were meant for each other but I can’t say that much about her choice in life suiting me.
While I was thinking of my poetry to Lyssa I remembered the one I wrote to her that could only be read by holding it up to the sun. That was my best poem and the words meant so much, a great poem. Lyssa also loved it as she told her friends I made it only readable in the sun because Lyssa loved the sky and clouds and this way she could combine both. Tonight I am going to write another blank verse poem and this time I feel like combining the four elements to Ali’s treachery, disloyalty, deception and betrayal.
Until that moment comes let me continue the story of coming home after the Gym. While at the Gym I said hello to Redd, noticed Tod in there and also talked to ‘Fabio’, Ralf’s friend that I first noted at the Catholic Club. He’s easy to approach as we talked about our workouts and once that was done it was back to working out. Keith came over my house and for twenty minutes he patiently waited as I had a two minute shower to wash off my sweat, ate my after-workout meal and prepared myself. Our trip once ready was to head for Ingleburn Pizza Hut and with my undercut now shaved I felt a bit more confident of seeing Marisol.
Driving to Pizza Hut we both noticed Marisol working at the front desk and as we parked we had a good view of her. Marisol looked out at us on occasion and gaining my confidence I jumped out of the car to ask if Simon was working. She was somewhat nervous when I approached her probably thinking that I was going to try and chat her up. Her first words were “Do you want to order a Pizza” and feeling she done that out of nerves I asked for Simon. Marisol didn’t even know of Simon and I could have said “The one I sent over to tell you who I was” but that’s lame. She asked Daffa and he told me that Simon hadn’t come to work yet. Jumping back into Keith’s car I told him the events and as he called Simon up I noticed Marisol talking to Daffa with a big smile on her face. I gathered she was either asking what my name was or something like that.
Simon was at Macarthur Square so we headed there. Mikaere was up there and I talked to him for a bit before heading to Shawn, Simon, Binh and Keith. After Binh’s long game he headed home and the rest of us prepared to watch a movie. After playing the air hokey game one more time even though I was exhausted from weights and lost anyway we made our way to the Cinema complex. Gathering that the movie would be a bit of time we headed for Tatton’s Mobil store in Campbelltown. While there Tod and a couple of other guys I knew that hung around with Ali walked in. Saying hello to Tod he also acknowledged me and as he said goodbye leaving the store I had a feeling by his body language that he didn’t really want to speak with me. Lyssa and Penelope then walked around the corner and this was déjà vu for the last time this was done. Like before I didn’t pay attention to Penelope as she bought cigarettes to kill her lungs. Lyssa and I said a couple of words to each other but it wasn’t like before and she headed out with Penelope. For a little while longer we bothered Tatton at work and from there we headed back to Macarthur Square.
Keith and Simon bought a ticket each and as Keith came out he handed me two stubs. Walking to Shawn I gave him one and we headed into the movie which was ‘The Negotiator’. During the movie someone called Keith’s phone and ten minutes later Tamsen came in with him, old wrinkled clothes on. Tamsen looked like she was having a bad day, she was probably crying beforehand and the clothes she was wearing were probably because Tamsen was feeling bad and didn’t give a shit what she looked like. Tamsen sat with Keith for the rest of the movie and looking at her I knew that Keith had said something to her on the lines of breaking up.
Seeing Tamsen acting like she was savoring the last moments of her relationship with Keith, she didn’t care what everyone else thought of her as she snuggled up so sorrowful in Keith’s pragmatic hands. Seeing Tamsen in this state reminded me of the last days that Lyssa and I were together and I got sad seeing Lyssa’s sadness in Tamsen’s eyes. Breaking up is never easy and I know how Keith feels because the same situation he’s going through happened to me a couple of months back. The day that struck enforcement to my reality and made me feel like a knife had punctured my body and pierced my spine was the day that I told Lyssa I didn’t love her 100% anymore. Hearing Lyssa cry that night repeatedly and bellowing in her weeping how much this was hurting her, I can never erase that day from my memory and will forever be sorry when I think of the hurt that I caused Lyssa that day. I’m sure Keith will have a day like that and I’m sure tonight, the discomfort he would have felt knowing he wanted to break up with her but seeing her so vulnerable in her devotion would have hurt. It would have been a day that Keith would remember if it seemed even for an eternity.
