Pivoting back to Polymatrix
I was thinking of pivoting back to Polymatrix so it can be the next game off the rank. What I should do is package it so people can start to play it and see how far I can get with it. That’s what I set out to do tonight.
AdMob and a launch document
By 7:10 p.m. I started signing Polymatrix up for an AdMob account. I had Claude create a launch document to help me take the game onto Google Play Console and started going through the steps.
By 8:35 p.m. I was doing well. The AdMob account was connected, and the Play Console account was already set up. I needed to update to Capacitor 7, run a few command prompts and installs, add the AdMob code into a few files and back into Capacitor, and load the real ad IDs into the game.
A privacy policy home
At about 11:45 p.m. I got back from a delivery and continued with the Google Console setup. I had to create a new Firebase project for Polymatrix so I could host a privacy policy. I created a local PWA folder, added the privacy HTML document, and uploaded it to the website.
Version 54
Meanwhile I built version 54 of Polymatrix with a bunch of new features. There’s an ad button you press to get “plus two whirlpool spins,” which pops up as a modal so you know what you’re going to get. I wanted an animation on the modal at the end of a level: if you win a crystal, for example, there’s a streak crystal animation, and then an elevator drops down into another button so you can see where it goes. I also added an exit button on the different modals so you can get back to the main screen.
By 1:50 a.m. I had built an APK and was about to test it again. I’m also making feature images to go alongside the store listing.
