May 22, 2026. Afternoon gym session, then 4:50 p.m..
A halving bug
Before my workout I checked the PB Tracker app to see when my last gym session was. During the session I discovered a small problem: it’s not correctly counting dumbbells and barbells. It’s still halving the weight. I have to fix that.
A power user button
When I got home I quickly wrote a prompt so I can get the app to add a voice input feature, basically a power user button.
What I want is to speak an exercise set into my phone, and the app will parse that string, looking for three distinct blocks of text: the word “set” with a numerical value, the word “rep” or “reps” with a numerical value, and an exercise type that matches something in my list. Once it finds those three values, it locks them into the exercise set creator pop-up.
The idea is that a power user, someone who actually pays for the app, can just speak their sets into the phone:
“Two sets of barbell curls, ten reps max.”
The app gets the meaning from that, writes it out, locks it in, and then I just speak out the next one, and the next one, and finally add the time and submit the gym session. That would be the best way to go about it.
