Broncos Beat the Roosters

Tonight, an absolute scorcher of a game between Brisbane Broncos and the Sydney City Roosters. Like the commentators noted, the game was right down to the wire and I was right there through the highs and lows of the game, feeling the same pressure as the players. Man I love my Football and mostly, I love the Brisbane Broncos who give me such devoted strength.

No other team remotely interests me as much as Brisbane and after tonight’s game, I hold this will from contemptible duress that would normally come from other laggard teams. No other team plays with such energy and with such an exuberance of pertinent characters. With this being their eleventh win and equaling their winning streak tally of 1990, I see the road to the semi finals now as an easy one.

The game was full of tension and as noted, it went down to the wire. The Roosters looked like they could wrap it up when equal at eight points by kicking a field goal but they chose to run the ball and there was Wendell Sailor, with ease, throwing the unlearned winger to the sideline. With the Roosters charging down the last kick of the Broncos and after a long and durable scuffle of hands, Brisbane finally turned up with the ball.

On the halfway line, five strong runs were powered through the weakening Roosters side who looked like they just wanted the siren to sound. “Just one more tackle,” Lockyer shouted and to the final play he kicked a perfect drop kick with the seconds to spare. The jubilation was heartfelt and as they jumped around the soaking stadium, both with pride defeating a home team and from the saturating rain, I threw my fists up into the air repeatedly, assured that I’d woken up most of my neighbors on the street with such praise.

The moment of the match in my mind was when Lockyer saved a possible try when a chip kick was placed by the Roosters and then kicked off the ground to what seemed to be a hand of glue from Lockyer. Without Langer I still had faith in the team as many people like Sailor, Tallis, Lockyer and other stars have stepped up to fill that void. An absolute quencher tonight, which bids me to note that I can’t wait until next week’s game.

Having the Last Laugh

I stand here with baited breathe, yearning for Brisbane to increase their lead by a further two points and as they were once at last position on the ladder and I faced ridicule from Keith and the rest of them, I’ll be having the last laugh when they arrive third or second on the ladder. What a strong run it will be if Brisbane end up winning all their games to which I don’t think their next will be any harder than they came across tonight.

Both showed strength in defense and Roosters were granted luck with their try from a kicking mistake but in all, they were almost equal to each other. However, Brisbane has that fire within them and I know that everyone would be much better off if they knew Brisbane wouldn’t be in the top eight come semi finals. What magnificence, what a team, I only wish I was there in the stadium when Brisbane kicked the wining point…

Quiet Weekends at Home

Although this month has been without its expected outings to clubs of sorts, I have enjoyed the quiet weekends at home. Watching the Football on Friday night, possibly relaxing with a movie, creating some daily activity with the Gym or a visit to Campbelltown on Saturday and then relaxing on Sunday, catching up with these pages as well as the Football wrap-up. Nope, although the roll of new clothes is still pushing the brackets of my paycheck, I see no reason to expend them on such short-trekked expedience.

I’d rather wait for that one night in the City and party hard than spend a thousand bristling nights in Chevy’s. Although the atmosphere is great and my being able to take having plenteous friends there either way, I appreciate the uncertainty of a night out, a proper night. Therefore, I will buy my clothes until this season subsides and from thence, the days of laptop publishing will succeed…

Reading Between the Lines

Rewinding the tape of life yet again for an explanation of Wednesday, we shall forget about all the eventful occurrences that in words would shed the shifting of light. Hoping that the clipping of my tail will lead to greater optimism in philosophical levity, let these redundant rivers flow, splashing upon these pages the worth of many voices, the caliber of many minds and the influence of much contrived opinions. For it is not my lone voice that creates this pool of conclusions but many a voiced opinion that conjures such curiosity to the pursuit of enlightened truth.

In my memoirs, chronology is only an accession to the overall allure of intrigue. Many a mind will be switched on to my chronology but what should make your minds tick as well as marvel is the philosophy that my unique style of writing engorges. Chronology only adds a flared interest and understanding to the effect of philosophy where one literally couldn’t be without the other. However, in that invisible gap, I’m smart enough to be naïve in explanation, leaving no void but with my style of writing, making it seem like a puzzle missing a piece, so that people can draw their own conclusions.

The answers might all be there on paper but that hesitation within an avid reader creates that touch of curiosity, of never knowing what could be written next and if indeed there is an explanation missing within the text. Please, these memoirs are for people to use their imaginations as well as dissect it thoroughly for meaning and indulgence. I implore you, within every shadow of a word there is a hidden meaning. Use your imagination, close your eyes and picture yourself in my shoes, for that one portion in time to which you read.

Imagine me typing away on this computer, thousands of thoughts tunneling through my mind but my being able only to pluck the most effective that crosses the mind. Curious minds do dwell upon the thoughts that got away, never to show face upon these pages. If you know my mind, my temperament, my pains, my triumphs, you should, with provision, discern the hidden meanings for which these pages never speak…

A Coughing Night

Far now from philosophy, Wednesday morning was not one well off for me. Rather, following the weekly trend, I didn’t get myself very good sleep the night before and for that reason, I woke up without hearing the alarm. Through the whole night, tiresome coughing would wear me out until I jumped up in the nude, scratching around in the dark until I made my way to the toilet.

The problem with my throat wasn’t a serious one, I just needed to drink fluid to rid phlegm from my throat. Sleeping on top of the blanket, I did hear the alarm in the morning but thought to myself “A couple more minutes couldn’t hurt”. Those minutes were much to my memory as I was woken up later by my mum heading down the stairs to raise the alarm.

Ushering me to head to work and bothering my sleep by turning on the light, I quickly closed the curtains so no one outside could see me jumping up in the nude. Despite my being late out of bed, I rushed the shower and in it all, made my journey to the bus-stop on time. There were no special occurrences upon catching the bus but as you will soon understand, my rushing to a train called for disillusion.

Racing for the Train

The bus to the station ended up taking forever as we picked up a horde of people on the way to the station. Clipping all the red lights again, I was lucky to be able to run through the open ticket gates and down to my train which was waiting impatiently upon the platform. With seconds before the doors would possibly close, I ran down the stairs, stepping from behind an old crippled lady and as I jumped inside, the doors closed.

Unsure as to whether I was in the first carriage or the second, I oddly sat myself downstairs instead of the usual haven I embrace upstairs. This proved to be a costly mistake to the usually smooth deliverance to the City, stress that I normally wouldn’t need to contend with. Scrutiny plagued the very seat I sat in, curious still as to whether I was in the first carriage or second as we stopped at Leumeah. Since my beginning work, like opposing magnets, I’ve allowed Lyssa her first carriage while I always sat on the second carriage.

The reason for this arrangement of mine is so that Lyssa could have her space and I mine as you can feel the overshadowed burden when best we do meet in circumstance upon the train. Being three seats forward from the back of the carriage and sitting on my usual three seater, I was typically alone and hoped that Lyssa wouldn’t walk past and see my being a loner. Lyssa went one better (Unintentionally of course) to which I peered back, sensing her behind me and catching a glimpse of her sharply, I noticed she was shying away back up towards the stairs.

Lyssa Walks Past

It seemed to me that Lyssa didn’t want to invade my space and knowing that she had Penelope with her, it seemed to me like she was saying “Let’s sit upstairs because Tony’s down here and I know you don’t want to see him”. Lyssa didn’t want to create tension but as I think Penelope saw me glimpse backwards, she sought to be brave and accept that I was in their space.

Instead of running away, I saw Lyssa and Penelope walk past me. Taking a quick glance, I noticed that Lyssa pretended like she handed even noticed me, trying hard not to look towards my direction. I soon saw the reason as my face turned from understood loathing to hatred. Naqi was walking right behind Penelope and soon after that, the only person to acknowledge me only with a glance toward my direction, Carleigh.

Hoping they would find seating where intimidation from either side wouldn’t be obvious, the animosity shined moreso when she seated herself on the other end of the carriage facing my direction. They didn’t purposefully sit there to piss me off but rather, so they could chat to each other. My anger turned to furious vengeance as Lyssa sat on the aisle end, Naqi in the middle and Penelope on the end seat. Hoping that Lyssa wasn’t trying to purposefully intimidate me, I wondered to myself “Why didn’t Penelope sit in the middle and distance the both of them from each other”.

Ettamogah and Old Memories

I remember ages ago when I visited Ettamogah Pub for its grand opening that Lyssa pushed away Kieran from dancing up on her because she thought I could be looking. Well, when it comes to Naqi, Lyssa doesn’t seem to care about my opinion, not on the phone or vividly. Maybe Lyssa was just naïve to my sitting there and detesting each time Naqi would lean towards Lyssa and away from Penelope to chat but from what she pledges over the phone, you’d think she’d show more to her word.

When the three of them first found their seats, immensely did I contemplate on jumping up in protest, heading upstairs and skipping over to the second carriage as I first intended. However, I sat there with a disheartened look on my face, deciding not to give in as they hadn’t. Anyway, Naqi’s face was hidden by others at the time and when best I wanted to seclude myself, I would rest my weary head upon the window and hide.

Ten Minutes of Silence

For ten minutes I sat there without recognition from Lyssa, as if her haughty self was shining through, showing what friends she would choose over me. Acting as if I was no one for those ten minutes, Lyssa tried her best to avoid me so she would discriminate against her true friends and one she stole from me, or shall I say, willfully betrayed me to cross that line.

Glancing over at Lyssa two or three times, when our eyes did meet Lyssa didn’t know what to do and anxiously smiling, she whispered out hello and waved her arm around slightly. That basically was the only time we communicated and as much as I tried to avoid the four of them I kept cursing the very air of my eyes for witnessing her discourse with Naqi.

What pissed me off gravely was how Penelope was sitting in her little corner, reading the newspaper and trying to harbor her documented insecurities regarding Naqi and Lyssa. Even as the both of them almost broke up with that reality in the back of Penelope’s mind, the two of them still tread upon thin ice and right in front of Penelope. I feel sorry for Penelope who received less attention and played a lesser role in conversation than Naqi and Lyssa.

Naqi Under My Skin

All discretion aside, Lyssa is like the bitch who steals your friends with her blonde locks. It happened to me with Naqi, it happened to Kiley with Kieran and now it’s going to happen to Penelope. In my opinion, Lyssa tends to allow the bad eggs to roll in her favor rather than the good. Lyssa makes her decisions by other people’s actions and as Naqi showed more of a presence after our breakup, he got his wish and I was brushed out. The same will apply to Penelope when Naqi sets to make a clean sweep after the both of them break up.

It will be interesting to see if Lyssa still stays friends with Naqi if in theory, Penelope and Naqi break up. Although Lyssa says that this will be their closing, I truly believe that Naqi will show persistence and Lyssa, being submissive will yield and cause some much antagonized controversy. Naqi, he does shame the mouth that even whispers his name. A man who for two years has held his greasy grasp on Penelope and never had sex with her once. How can you commend such an adulterer for keeping a vow to marriage but cheating on his lady forthwith.

How can you trust someone so insincere and to even be in Penelope’s shoes, I would know not to show such full-bloomed sincerity. For the whole time that I was sitting with myself I only glanced at them a couple of times, Naqi and I catching eyes only once. Although it was only short, he quickly averted his eyes to which I felt content to which I should have been feeling intimidated. Naqi ended up jumping off at Redfern, carting around his usual paint-convulsed clothing.

Parting at Redfern

Before he left Penelope gave him a kiss on the neck as he lent forward and with a couple more words to Lyssa, he was off up the stairs and outside. Penelope kept herself in the corner and away from my view to which Carleigh looked back towards me once again in curiosity. However, as they jumped off at St. James there was no other embrace of eyes to which I was pleased. When they were walking on the platform I was collecting something from my bag so seeming busy, I cared not to look up to see if they were looking through the window at me.

No Call From Lyssa

From the onset of seeing Lyssa, I knew I didn’t want to speak to her for a long time. Seeing her with Naqi just pissed me off completely and made me feel like all the progress we were making towards a greater friendship and confused lust had all been undone with this one occurrence. Until today I still haven’t received a call from Lyssa and considering Lyssa was starting to call me regularly, I feel that she’s also taken some disdain home with her after that confrontation of opinion.

In Lyssa’s mind, she probably knew I would sound frustrated and uncaring over the phone and she couldn’t bear to face the calamity of questions parched with imperious tenacity. I can’t say I’m all the better for Lyssa not calling me as without her calls I am free to my will but with her calls I have more insight to these pages. However, our days are passed and so to are our days of lustful insight to which there will ever be any more an abstinence from past sin than these days permit.

These eyes grow tired and this night dwells ever amongst the wicked tearing of sleep’s callowness. With the remainder of Wednesday having to wait until tomorrow morning, patience will also shine more impromptu heraldry to these pages. Tomorrow’s agenda is to head for Campbelltown, get my haircut, look around at eyewear shops, try on some more contacts, come back to Bradbury Gym for a workout and then await Josh who should be bringing along his Playstation for me to borrow.

There should be more plentiful action when the light shines a new day but for the early morning, more chronology to complete Wednesday should ensue. For now, I must rest these tiring eyes for doth their will to sleep extend no longer than procrastination wills…
