These Walls Have Ears

The larger particle of our conversation began when the topic of Keith and Tamsen was again brought up. “Hey, Phoenix and Keith had sex a couple of months ago didn’t they” Jett asked as if he knew something was going on. “Yeah, how did you know that” I asked him figuring someone must have opened their mouth and without an answer he just looked at me, let out a revealing smile and uttered “These walls have ears”.

It wasn’t until later in the night that I asked Jett “Tell me I wasn’t the one naïve enough to reveal that Keith had sex with Phoenix” hoping he would reveal his source. However, I wasn’t too surprised to find that I had been duped by Jett who had tricked me somewhat into believing that he knew something. Jett looked hell bent on using this new information to cause further grief to Keith whom he already despised.

“Just, you didn’t hear it off me alright” I remarked, hoping this won’t come back to haunt me one day. Sure I did open my mouth by mistake but from what is of Keith’s shambles and ill-represented life, he deserves what is coming to him. To Keith, being selfish and making sure that he’s always better off applies to everything. Keith doesn’t care about anyone else and that will ultimately be his downfall, himself.

Why Tamsen Left

As the story thickened, Jett informed me that Min-Su no longer spoke with Tamsen as they had a difference of agreement weeks ago. Everyone knows by now that Tamsen can’t go without a boyfriend and that is mainly why the both of them are back together now. The truth behind Tamsen’s breaking up with Keith is because she found out some guy from work liked her.

Figuring that Tamsen could dump Keith and move onto something better (Jett’s words) she lived up to her expectations and sought her desires. However, Min-Su started to get frustrated in how she had become the mediator and focal point of their breakup. Continually, Tamsen would ask Min-Su for advice, crying every night asking herself “What should I do, I hate Keith and never want to see him again”.

Min-Su insisted that she should go out with this new guy but Tamsen chased him away by continually crying about her problems to him. Things like how Keith used to call her, send her hate messages on the phone and how she was confused and didn’t know what to do. You could say that Keith had a part to play in the stupidity of their getting back together as if he wasn’t so pushy and rude to Tamsen the guy that liked Tamsen wouldn’t have run off thinking “Fuck this, she’s not worth it”.

Constant crying about Keith became overbearing for him and he decided it was too much and took off. In the three weeks that she was going out with him Tamsen tried to win his heart by using the expanse of money she has on offer to buy him presents. Seriously, Tamsen has no genius or creativity when it comes to buying presents and upon hearing what she bought, it sounded like she was either trying to win his love but pushing him away further with her efforts.

Guys like to woo and if I had a girl buying me a hands free kit for my car as well as an earring within the first two weeks, I’d be like “Hey, I’m not ready for such a big commitment, you’re weird and I’m out of here”. Guys don’t like the clingy type but I guess Keith’s different because he knows, just like Tamsen, he can’t live without a girlfriend.

Jealous of Jett and Min-Su

The story widens when I learnt that Tamsen was the one to call Keith back in which the both of them finally got together and started seeing each other. When this happened Tamsen started treating Min-Su coldly and in the stages of her being broken up with Keith she couldn’t hack seeing Min-Su and Jett being so much in love. Keith and Tamsen have been envious of Jett and Min-Su for a long time now, it has been evident for so long.

Keith used to comment of his damning thoughts about Jett and when some sort of situation arose for Jett, he would always think of the worst for Jett rather than being optimistic. For example, Keith used to comment that he didn’t think the both of them would last much more than a year because they were so different to each other. Being the adversary to Keith’s beliefs, I had my doubts when they started going out but now I see the true love and feel no envy.

When Jett is over my house and they are playful on my bed I don’t feel any resentment and I might feel that touch of envy but it soon is transcended by my respect for their lasting love. Lyssa and I had a different love but still, it was a great love, just as great as Jett and Min-Su have now. It goes to say, when Tamsen and Min-Su were spending nights with Jett they didn’t really object too greatly to their love towards each other but all of a sudden, Tamsen developed a complex and fed her hatred into such a wide gaping hole.

Naqi and Penelope Did It Too

I guess Keith and Tamsen’s predicament with Jett and Min-Su was sort of like the competition that Naqi and Penelope had with Lyssa and I. Each time we would go out they would be all over each other so they could show how much they loved each other whilst fighting everyday in the background. Lyssa and I weren’t envious of their fake love, we just loathed their acting and didn’t want to hang out with them as much.

Still, they were our friends and that we had to do but if they lost their competitiveness, it would have been better. When Lyssa and I broke up the competition was over and still, I didn’t envy Naqi being with Penelope much more than a whimper, I only despised him being with her. From all the bad that he created in my life with Lyssa by sticking his head into our business, I wished the world back to him.

With Jett and Min-Su, there was no competition, that was just pure love which offended Keith and Tamsen because they had no real love, only arguments like Naqi and Penelope. That brings me onto the next point of where these arguments are heading, to the abhorrence shown to Jett and Min-Su for continuing to be themselves through all this adversary.

A Friendship Falls Apart

With Tamsen and Keith broken up, she used to spend her nights at Min-Su’s house often, sharing her sorrows of being with her Keith. At the same time, when Jett and Min-Su would show some affection Tamsen would be offended, disparaging them in every conceivable. These events of putting Min-Su down led to the both of them ceasing conversation together, therefore, losing a friendship because of Tamsen’s envious nature. Jett and Min-Su didn’t have to stop being themselves in front of Tamsen just because she had a complex and I’m sure Lyssa would have coped without resentment upon seeing Naqi and Penelope continually gloating their sexual prowess.

Jett was actually the one that told Min-Su not to speak to Tamsen unless she was the one to call. However, as they started getting back together at the start of this week, Keith’s selfish demoralizing was behind the next action. Pranking Min-Su’s phone four times in one day Min-Su thought that out of respect she would give Tamsen a call back. However, such cold-hearts were on the other line as they made Min-Su feel small by stating “Tamsen and I just made a bet to see if you would call us back, that’s all” and hung up.

From what I can see behind this, Keith and Tamsen felt insecure being around each other again and thought that because they both agreed on their envy against Min-Su, they would jeer her with their prank. It was just a childish way for them to derive in satisfaction, like they got Jett and Min-Su back for loving each other so much.

The truth comes down to this one point, Keith is jealous and Tamsen is vulnerable to what Keith says. Keith, like many of his other stupid exploits decided to prank Min-Su’s phone and because Tamsen can’t be without a boyfriend and was vulnerable to Keith, she decided to go along with it. Finding common ground in hating Min-Su and Jett wasn’t hard for them to find and if they need that to feel some security amongst themselves, I pity them. Keith is a dastard, simple, he’ll stab you in the back to get his own.

These thoughts of Keith must be a cliché of his character but as I always note, Keith is selfish and only cares about himself. Right now, the only thing important to Keith is getting Tamsen back so he can feel some sort of dependability. Even though Keith knows that Tamsen dumped him for another guy and although everyone is against his plans, he is naïve enough to think getting back with her will solve all his problems when only they’ll get worse.

Tamsen Cannot Be Alone

Within one week they’ll be back to their former self, yelling abuse at each other in front of everyone. Only, this time Min-Su won’t be there to help out Tamsen, she’ll be all alone. Tamsen is just stupid for being vulnerable and her disability of being unable to go without a man. Reality shows that Tamsen will be destined with Keith for life because she’ll never be able to find someone else without ruining it as she did. Even if Tamsen found out about Keith’s deceptiveness with Phoenix she’ll still go back to him, she’s weak.

The way I figure and from what everyone else in our group has been saying, practically anyone can have Tamsen as long as they are willing to go out with her. Tamsen would have gone out with me, Shawn, Ralf or almost anyone in the group if we were her shoulder to cry on. God knows she done it to Chí when they broke up and she started seeing Keith, one of his friends.

Tamsen only needs her security blanket and that just means some guy who will be there for her. Tamsen needs someone that will take good care of her, that will be able to mould into her overly bitchy attitude. I’m not going to be the one to mould into such posterity beyond Keith but I will note that my thoughts of giving her a hard bang are echoed throughout her group. Wouldn’t it be a hard blow to Keith if one of us started going out with Tamsen.

You’d never hear the end of it as Keith would be bent on getting even. Sure, he’ll start with converting your best friends against you, then he’ll stalk you and finally he’ll go to his peculiar extremes just to let you know that he doesn’t like it very much. Keith, the stupid oaf that ended up with Min-Su from a blind date because they were both desperate. Keith, who looked like he had no future before going out with Tamsen and has not changed in life’s little odyssey, any of his traits.

Min-Su’s Car Breaks Down

Keith, who to his favor has turned Tamsen’s will against her once best friend for the pure reason that she doesn’t have a reason to dump Keith again. Min-Su was the persuading voice that gave Tamsen enough guts to dump Keith and now, Keith sees Min-Su as a threat and therefore, for his selfish purpose, must eliminate her. Is Tamsen too naïve to know this or is she just vulnerable for a man…

The last point of information that I received was how Min-Su’s car broke down late last night. This also holds some ties with what I had done with Shawn last night and how Ralf ruined a chance of a good night out for us. Deciding to give Ralf a call in hopes that he could come out and give them a jumpstart he done so because he was bored and in seek of some adventure for the night.

Heading out within a couple of minutes his drive out to help Jett was useless as he didn’t bring the appropriate tools to undo the battery in order to get the jumpstart in effect. Therefore, Min-Su decided to give Keith a call despite the animosity because he owed her a favor. Agreeing to head out to help her Keith done his deed and then was abruptly told to go home by a spiteful Ralf.

Calling Keith About the Negatives

Within our conversation about Keith I noted that I had to see the negatives that Tamsen had developed from her 21st birthday party. A blast of irregular chronology, Tamsen headed down to the Catholic Club on Friday in which I was informed that she had the photos developed and they were good. This enticed me to think upon ringing Keith as he would obviously now be with Tamsen.

Halting my conversation with Jett and as he sat silent wishing not to be noticed I spoke to Keith about my intention to get the negatives for copies. Sounding very helpful to my request he noted that he was headed to Tamsen’s house so he could have dinner first, they might watch a movie and then he would head over my house around 8:30 p.m. Well, I just heard Keith’s car head up the street and with my whole conversation practically over I just have a couple more words to say.

Keith also thought to say “By the way, me and Tamsen are going out but we’re deciding to take it slow” and to that I noted “I didn’t even ask”. “Yeah I know” he remarked “But it saves me the hassle as I know people are wondering”. Keith almost sounded proud in his gloating way that he had a piece of his shattered past back and there is now way he’s going to be able to put together the pieces despite his beliefs.

Behind all that optimism lies skepticism and disbelief to an uncontested degree. Keith knows he has no chance, he’s just not listening to that little man in his head. Despite all this hierarchy of bitterness amongst our mouths I’ll just quickly point out that Jett left my house at 6:30 p.m. and since then I’ve been typing in here. Keith’s out of the car now, he took a while to wind down the turbo, have to go now, see you in an hour or so…
