A Late Train
Thursday began for me at the cliché time that my alarm clock has set for me. Having myself a shower and something to eat I prepared myself to head for the bus stop and from Campbelltown Station I caught my train minutes later. I guess it is a salient feature to recall how my train was late for the first time on Thursday. Najla had been late a day or two before Thursday so now it was my turn. We stopped just after Sydenham and before Tempe for at least twenty minutes.
The driver reported that there were some carriages blocking our path up ahead and that we should sit tight, what else could we do. Deciding to use this time to get a bit more shut eye the guy next to me got frustrated with the delay and stood up and out of his seat. There was an older lady sitting next to me in which I took the opportunity to note what I thought about the train delay.
The both of us had a little chat as the train started, inched forward and then stopped a couple of times. Finally we took off and as we arrived in Wynyard I said goodbye to the lady and jumped off the train. Not in a particular hurry, I just picked up the pace a little bit as the time was 9:00 a.m. I knew I was late so what good would hurrying to work do, I’d still be late. With work, I stick to my theories knowing that it’s a casual family environment of equality.
Stepping into our office I said hello to Najla and Esme who were both sitting at their desks. Explaining how my train was held up Najla familiarized me with the knowledge that many people were late for work. On the way up in the elevators I noticed Thalia who also got held up by the late trains. We were both somewhat relieved that we weren’t the lone ones who would be late.
Another Lunch In Hyde Park
The exact happenings of Thursday are vague to me now but I do remember that Najla was commenting how she would be shopping when work was over. I do remember deciding to buy a hamburger combo from Macdonald’s just so I could have a change in what I ate. There’s nothing new about my sitting at Hyde Park under the evergreen tree but I was rather rushed to eat my food because it took me ages to catch a train out to Museum Station.
Work-wise, I had a good day creating briefs and running errands as usual. I have no particular comment to make about Thursday because I can’t remember it so but Najla and I continued our tradition of walking to the station together. Catching the train to Central Station I caught the express train home in which I slept most of the way and catching my bus I headed to my humble abode.
Binh Delivers The Chain
Thursday night after coming home from work I sat in front of my television and relaxed before deciding to write in my diary at 8:45 p.m. Keith called me the night before wanting to head out to the movies or something but as I called him up he uttered over the background noise that he was at the ‘Offspring’ concert, fair enough.
Not too long after, a persistent Binh knocked on my front door with Tyler by his side and as the erratic and his sidekick walked in Binh pulled out the gold chain. This time around he had chopped it off ten centimeters and I was taken back by the haste in which he completed the task in order to get paid.
Not able to say no now I paid over $45 with that extra money for getting the chain sized and before they thought about leaving I asked if Binh could take my Centrelink form to Shawn’s house. Binh was in no hurry as I filled out the form and after about ten minutes and some pretentious conversation with Tyler they headed out for the rest of their night. “I’ll see you tomorrow night”
I yelled as he walked down my driveway and back to his car. Giving Shawn a call I notified him that Binh would be dropping off my form in his letterbox as previously planned. Shawn was alright with handing my form in and now I know that he’s handed it in so I’ll be getting paid on Monday, hopefully. Thursday night I also received my telephone bill which surprisingly was only $150.
Mum also had a little look at the telephone call she made to Yugoslavia some months ago and the vowed she would pay me $20 on Thursday for her part of the bill. For the third time in one week I didn’t get myself to sleep on Thursday until 11:30 p.m. The reason for this was due to my writing in these memoirs and having so much to write, I had to spend so much time.
Chain Day
Anyway, I hear Keith’s car out the front now so I’ll be heading to get my chain fixed at Campbelltown. From there we’ll probably head up to Macarthur Square but I guess we’ll hear all about it when I come home.
Saturday 4:50 p.m.
A couple of hours have past since last I wrote in this diary and now I have returned to do it all again. Tonight I will be heading out to see the already hilarious ‘Austin Powers’ and I just know that I’m going to love it. I am back now to my full former swing but with a precedent of maturity overcoming me.
Today as I headed out with Keith to Campbelltown I had my chain fixed and almost instantaneously upon putting it on I felt full-circle, complete. These two weeks without the chain have changed me in a way that I can’t decipher now but as my chain is still my most important piece of jewelry, I don’t cringe to take it off. Now I also have a club chain to wear and when I do wear it out I’ll be taking off my fate charm.
The chain that Binh sold to me will now be useless unless Keith thinks of buying it off me. You see, while we were at Macarthur Square he tried it on and suggested the idea that he might buy it but I’ll just have to see what happens tonight. If Keith does buy my extra chain for $40 then it will get me out of this hole where Binh put me in the first place.
Honesty In These Pages
How amiable a picture I do paint to choose in the pages hereof. One would think that I gloat for personal glorification but I have none of the sorts to whish embedded hereupon. The only blemishes to truth in these pages are the mixed philosophies I encounter or my scientific thoughts whereas all I say is true. In these pages there is no glorification, I say what I am feeling and exactly what I had done on the day. This voice if anything is humble when outspoken but diplomatic in my artful attempt at telling a story of my epic life, tale by tale, just the way it unfolds in truth.
This whole month I feel is all over the place when it comes to my entries. I try to keep strict chronology when best I can but lately I’ve been jumbling all my chronology around so that Thursday would be written before Monday in which you would have to look on Saturday to read about it. However, this Herculean effort means that the job is getting done and in a couple of years time it won’t really matter because there is always reference in these pages of mine.
Hunting For Crazy Love
Just before I head into my day’s inscription of detail I shall forward some more philosophy with these matured hands. First, I would take this moment to point out that the song ‘Crazy Love’ by Aaron Neville is extremely hard to find because even at the music shop in Macarthur Square where they had a book of songs, they couldn’t find his name. They didn’t even have the Phenomenon soundtrack for reference which was a bit of a downer but the moral of the story is that this song is hard to find.
Just to add to my little inscription, when it comes to the right type of music, I’m extremely vulnerable to being moved or touched in some way by it. I’m the kind of person that will yearn to buy an album or song if I hear it in someone’s car or on the radio. Many people go off instinct and popularity when buying music but I go purely by the certain moods music can administer such to vibrancy.
Hair And Dance Plans
Adding a new loaf of bread to my thought that has been raised months before it was eaten, let me talk about my new desires. The eagerness of wanting to change my hairstyle is now taking full effect. Each day that I go out to a club or I look at my hair in the mirror I think that my look has aged on me and made me weary. I really want to do something new to my hair, something different, something special.
For a while now I have had the idea of placing streaks in my hair or just frosting the tips. However, that won’t change the fact that I don’t really like how my hair sits when it is let loose so the more drastic option of mine was to cut my hair short. This is only a new idea as I think it could pull of effectively but I gather that I’ll wait until I’ve at least tried most of the alternatives with the long hair I have.
The other and more viable option was to get my hair braided in French Braids. This has always been a fascination of mine and as I gave it some thought today, I felt that I would look like a sick cunt if I got braided extensions just past my shoulders. Also on my mind and hopes for a while now has been the ambition to be a better dancer.
Since I’ve been heading out to nightclubs and watching music videos I’ve wanted to join a dancing studio that concentrated only on music video dances. I want to learn things like the dance steps to Ricky Martin’s new song, the steps to ‘Baby one more time’ by ‘Britney Spears’ or more favorably ‘No Scrub’ by TLC. For next month this is exactly what I will be looking into, a dancing school and a hairdresser that can really take care of my hair.
