Another Ruined Night

Tonight has really taken the shine out of this month in regards to having a fulfilling night. Despite the fact that I got to see the new and improved Johnnie at Chevy’s and a host of other names and faces I didn’t sustain the good time I was having because my mood was brought down by the people around me. I had a feeling that tonight’s planning was going to be a catastrophe and I’m just glad I didn’t subject myself to the Catholic Club as I would have been least comfortable there.

Tyler summed it up nice perfectly when he noted as we were leaving Chevy’s “Keith always wants to go home, I liked it when we were in Chevy’s but now, because of him, I don’t feel like being there anymore”. As you might gather, tonight was a great night but both Tyler and I felt weighed down by the procrastinating effects of Keith. Shawn was following the trend of Keith because he didn’t appreciate his apparel and Ralf was getting into his groove but sadly, he had to drive Keith and Shawn home at 1:00 a.m. Let me now explain the night in some detail…

Picked Up Near Midnight

The night as you would gather began just before midnight as I was typing avidly in my diary hoping I wouldn’t get interrupted but for the fifth time in the night my phone rang. The earlier beep I had heard out the front was Tyler’s car and Keith was just ringing to inform me that they had arrived. Still having not prepared myself for the evening I felt rushed so I just slapped on some perfume quick, put on my clothes and as I chucked on my shoes I headed outside.

Jumping into Tyler’s car with only Keith in shotgun I was beginning to worry about all the boasting Keith was doing beforehand. The only reason I decided to head out to Chevy’s was that Keith was laying the guilt trip on me and using his old tricks of persuasion by saying there were heaps of people going. When Keith informed me that the others were still at the Catholic Club I started to wonder how bad the night would turn out to be.

Parking the car Keith made his way into the Catholic Club as Tyler and I jumped out of the car to have some conversational humor. We chat in bullshit sentences just like me and Shawn do but in a different context and light. Keith noted that the girl who was with Tyler and had huge breasts and blonde hair was coming with us for the night but I didn’t see her walking up the stairs to either of ours cars when Binh, Ralf and Shawn walked outside.

As we jumped in the cars I became suspicious if she even existed and Keith assured me that she didn’t have any money but I can’t be too certain of his foul tasting mouth of fibs. Anyway, from what Keith said, she was only seventeen and she didn’t have any money or picture identification to get into Chevy’s. Neither Keith or Tyler wanted to shout her in despite their surging libido so she either mustn’t have been that good looking (Despite the both of them saying she was easy) or she didn’t exist altogether.

Dancing Beside Good Dancers

Let me just take this time to note something about my attitude and how it changes between different people. Tonight when I was dancing around Tyler or even Ralf it drove me to dance with more enthusiasm, with more kick. This put a smile on my face and made me feel confident, being around good and confident dancers. When you turn the scale to someone like Keith who mostly looks glum, he makes me feel bad and it turns out in my confidence and dancing technique.

When I dance near Keith I tend to keep my hands to my side and just dance the one motion because he’s not really doing anything to make me exceed my usual safety point. This in turn I feel makes me look like a broken record but only in dancing and that affects me mentally because it lowers my self-esteem when next I dance. People like Tyler, Ace and Binh are all people in which get me dancing and that acts as a nuclear reaction in a sense.

They would get me going and in return my increased technique would up theirs and it would escalate throughout the night from there. Keith now leads the count of ‘Most Piked Nights’ where Shawn would fall next followed by Ralf and then Binh with a mighty one encounter at Byblos. However, I don’t blame Binh for having to work the next day but if someone feels like they won’t have fun at a nightclub, why spoil it for everyone else and bring down their attitudes. I walked into Chevy’s tonight with an open mind and as my toes started tapping they as quickly stopped because of Keith finding himself uncomfortable at Chevy’s.

Up The Main Street

The fact that there was now no female heading out with us made me feel empty of purpose to head to Chevy’s. Binh looked drunk as he made his way to Ralf’s car so I wasn’t sure if he would even make it to Chevy’s. Starting the car and making our way up the main street I questioned Keith again as to whether the others were going to Chevy’s. “Yeah, of course they are”, he replied, “Don’t worry about it”.

That in itself worried me as his night of planning was starting to fall apart and I just knew that my only money to head to a club for the weekend would be misused. Parking Tyler’s car at the front of Pizza Hut we made our trek up the main street and commented on the enclosures blocking parts of the road so that they could do repairs. We joked of how it made the narrow footpath seem like the roadwork at Oxford Street and from that we sarcastically mimicked Chevy’s as being an City Club.

The night wasn’t too cold as we made our way to the front door, it was mildly cold. There was a small line to head into Chevy’s but that was due to the bouncers waiting for people to walk out so there would be enough room. Inching our way through the line we were scanned for any weapons and then were allowed entry. First appearances were to be vital and as I had Keith pay me partially into Chevy’s I wasn’t sure what to expect. From outside it didn’t look like it would be very packed or interesting but I was surprised as soon as I walked through that door…

Walking Into The City Club

The immediate reaction upon walking into Chevy’s was positive bewilderment and I sat there with my mouth gaping, stunned for a couple of minutes. The lights were different, there was more space and despite there only being half a crowd on the dancefloor area it was full of City folk dressed in their City best. For example, there were heaps of people wearing those funky glasses I want to buy as well as guys wearing club clothing everywhere.

There wasn’t one woman on the dancefloor that didn’t look stunning in what she wore and everywhere, I mean everywhere, people were dancing. This made me feel a tad uncomfortable as the three of us were standing in a line, motionless, watching the people on the stage as if we were judging them. After realizing our mistake I tried to rectify it by moving around a little but because I was the only one cutting loose a little bit I didn’t feel all that comfortable.

Thus, the beginning of my obvious night of torturous conscience demeanors was in effect and resultant to Keith’s feelings, it could only get worse. Looking like lost little boys caught in a daze I decided enough was enough of looking stupid. Screaming over the music for us to sit down Tyler led the way as we headed to some tables in the far end of the club and sat ourselves down.

Watching The Dancers

The minutes shifted forward ever so slow but my eyes did not care for time as they were glued on every blonde and brunette that walked past. There was also a hot looking lady in black boots almost to her knees, a black skirt and a club shirt cut at the back. Having her hair back in a smart bun she was dancing with the best moves I have ever seen.

In addition, her three male friends who all looked Greek or Lebanese had the best moves and kicks I have ever seen. Just looking at them you could see that they clubbed at the City every night and their unlimited exuberance had me glued to their every move. They had the vibe better than Ace in dance technique and I wondered how long it would take me to learn steps like that.

It seemed that with every beat a leg would go out here or a hand would wave around there. Each beat had a body-part flicking around and on some moves they would switch directions at the turn of a beat, great shit. Nevertheless, I must admit that a couple of the good City dancers were eyeing me through the night so I must have been doing something right in my high-spirited dancing.
