Dressing for the City
Calls through my Friday night kept screening and I made calls to Jett, Keith and Ralf. When talking to Keith while he was at work I asked him to make me up a separation certificate and wording one out I rang him up again and sent him to work.
When 7:30 p.m. arrived I had already dressed myself in my black cargo pants and buttoned black shirt and to make it look a little more casual and confident I put on my hat. Jett had moved out night from 8:30 p.m. at the station to meeting him just before 8:00 p.m. at the Bus Stop near Maddox’ house so we could catch it together. With my departure I thought it would be a cold night and it did start to sprinkle a little more with each step I took.
Luckily it wasn’t too far a walk and when I made it to Maddox’ house they had her mum reverse out to give us all a lift. Jumping in the back with Jett, Anders and Maddox in the front with his mum we made our way to Campbelltown Station. Shawn or Tatton didn’t end up going because they had no money and we were supposed to meet Ralf down there. The conversation on our way to the station was funny and informative as I learnt that Jett had been kicked out of his house and now living with Anders.
Waiting for Ralf at the Station
Pulling up to Campbelltown Station it appeared as if the rain had stopped sprinkling and for the rest of the night it was rain free. As we made our way to the ticket machines I was lucky to find myself a machine that allowed me to get my usual cheap ticket and everyone else got one too.
Making our way to the phones upstairs Jett got out some money to call Mikaere who was supposed to come out with us for the night but as it turned out we didn’t get him to come down, he must have been busy. Giving Ralf a call he told us that he was getting ready and as Jett hung up the phone we both looked at each other knowing that Ralf was going to take ages.
As we sat down on our platform to wait for the train which was coming in just under half an hour we were placing bets to see if Ralf would even make it to the station in time, it was swinging heavily to the no response. Time kept creeping up on us and to keep ourselves amused through conversation we kept making cracks about how we could see Ralf when it wasn’t him. With minutes to go Jett cried out Wolf once more but this time it was genuine.
Finally buying himself a ticket and making it down to the platform he informed us of how hard it was for him to get to the station. Despite his having hours to get ready he was depending on his mum to give him a lift but she wasn’t home yet. For that he decided to give a Taxi a call and if it wasn’t for his calling a Taxi he would never have made it.
A Train Full of Impressions
The train trip was a pack of laughs as Ralf started off with his impressions, Anders done some of his and then Jett capped it off with some impersonations. To get into detail would take up too much space so you’ll just have to believe that it was an entertaining trip.
The plan as I had heard from calling Keith was that we were headed to Planet Hollywood where we would have dinner and I myself wasn’t expecting this. Jett knew that I didn’t have much money to spend and I was lucky to even have money for the night but despite this we made our way to Planet Hollywood that night where I spent half of my money.
Catching the train to Town Hall we made our way to the ticket machines in a little bit of a hurry as Anders was busting to get to the toilet. Not even being 18 years he had drunk three beers for the night and Jett was hoping to get him into a strip club. The night to me spelt disaster and I hoped in some way that Anders wouldn’t get into a strip club so I wouldn’t have to spend my money but fortune was not on my fortunate side.
Timezone and the Reception Girl
The booking at Planet Hollywood was for 9:30 p.m. and having a little bit of time to spare we made our way to ‘Timezone’ just across the street. Watching someone dancing on a board in a simulated dancing game and someone else tapping buttons to simulate notes wasn’t my idea of playing a game. Spending a couple of minutes watching this and having to step through a big line that was queuing up for some nightclub we made our way to Planet Hollywood.
Once inside Planet Hollywood I took my time to look around as Jett made his way to Reception to inform them that we had arrived. The girl behind the counter had herself a nice ass in her pants and with her ponytail and good looks I was beginning to like this place. Seeing me in my nightclub-like wear she started doing a little dance as if to say “I’m trying to get your attention by being bubbly and dance-worthy”.
However, as I am usually bad with showing interest because I fear rejection or dislike towards me I didn’t appear as if I was too interested. The five of us made our way up to the little bar to check out some of the surroundings and then after walking into a little cinema area we were called out with our seats available.
Virginia and the Price List
There was a bunch of half decent waitresses and workers there that I noted but all the more, there was great women sitting within our area and dining. Our waitress for the night had a strong English accent and she was the butt of all our halfhearted impressions of her accent.
Anders and Ralf were doing their best to mimic her and I can’t remember what her name was but I changed it slightly to Virginia to represent the finer part of that name for her. She was laughing along with us and spending a fair deal of time at our table and the service there was exceptionally quick.
Making our way to the menus I was amazed at how much anything on the menu cost. For example, a simple hamburger with a side order of chips was $13 and that small meal was the cheapest item on the list. All of us were taken back by how much the food cost but in all seriousness, I think Jett would have had a much better time and value eating at Macdonald’s.
With the money woes that I had brought with me I ordered the hamburger. I wasn’t alone in my ordering the most digestive price tag on the list and I wasn’t alone in thinking that the prices were way too high.
Wrestling a Burger
Our meals for the night were brought to us fairly quickly along with our drinks in which Anders bought himself another beer. Showing etiquette just like everyone else on our table I used the knife and fork to eat my chips but I had to stop when it came to the burger because it was just all over the place. What made it appear so big was the space that the lettuce had made so I just picked up that sucker for each bite I wanted to take and then placed it back down.
There was a lady on the left of me and sitting one table away from us who I thought was good looking. Wearing a pink top (Starting to become a fad these days) and having blonde hair she was around 23 years of age but that didn’t stop me glancing over on occasions.
Besides this, our amusement was to guess what movie the wooden high rise building (Which stood around four meters high) was out of. Each person took a guess with only me choosing ‘Ghostbusters’ and in the end it turned out that I was right.
Ralf Versus the Nachos
Every now and again the waitress would come back to see how we were going and as we all had an appetizer of Nachos the small peppers didn’t agree too much with Ralf. Anders and Jett also had some of the green pepper and they all said that it stung in their mouths but Ralf as usual was the one to take the carrying on too far.
Milk and Then Olive Oil
Asking the waitress if she could bring him a cup of milk he drank that down and told us it was getting better. However, the pepper taste came back to Ralf and asking for a little cup of olive oil it was brought to him. What made me roll my eyes was how Ralf was trying to sop as much out of his moment as possible.
Rubbing the olive oil on his lips I had a little go at him for being a wimp but as usual he had his go back. What made me roll my eyes again was how his blank expressions and jeering gestures of distress led him to drink the olive oil straight. There must have been enough there for a quarter of a cup and he drank it all down.
This wasn’t the end of his acting career, a long way away. From there he ordered another drink of milk from a now skeptic waitress but to her it was just some more money spent. Wondering if Ralf was going to get charged for the milk that he drank I found out that he was charged $3 for each drink of milk. Luckily the high charging place didn’t tackle him for the issue of the oil, I wonder how much it would have cost.
Tyler Turns Up With Binh
Nearing the end of my meal and after Ralf’s pathetic attempt to feign an overdrawn hot pepper attack, Keith, Binh and Tyler made their way inside. The three of them drove in with Binh’s car because Keith obviously didn’t want to drive but Keith as usual got the better of the bargain because he got to drive Binh’s car home. As they sat down with us our little group was enlarged and Tyler as usual was being his usual confident self.
Jumping over the sofa chair and sitting amongst the all of us I watched him try to crack onto anything that walked past. Well, he didn’t try to crack onto them but he was using his usual charm that eventually got him nowhere. “We can’t take you anywhere,” uttered Binh who was obviously amused by Tyler’s attempt to look good in front of anything that moved. Tyler acts like a wannabe stud who thinks he is famous and rich but far from despising him, I think it’s a crackup to watch.
Tyler decided to buy himself a beer and then Binh and Ralf bought one. The whole separate order went on another tab and with Binh egging on Tyler to pay for the round he did so. Little did he know that it would eventually cost him over $15 for the three beers and when he was finally told he tried to wriggle out of it with a shocked expression on his face but he had to pay.
Princess and the Credit Card
Cracking out my Credit Card I told him he could use that in a sarcastic manner so he snapped it out of my hands and played along. However, the waitress didn’t come back and before he had the choice to have any intent with my card I took it back off him. There was a waitress who walked past with a princess crown on and that was her name for the rest of the night as she walked past our table, Princess. Tyler once again was trying his hand at cracking onto her but once again he was unsuccessful.
Binh shouted for the second round of drinks to make Tyler a little more at ease about paying. When the final bill came for our little group I ended up putting in my $15 worth of what I bought. We all had a little laugh about how Ralf was charged for milk.
Aiming for an Early Sleep
The night now has to come to a wrap so I can prepare myself for some earlier sleep tonight. The rest of my Friday night tale will come after waking up but I don’t have such a high task at hand with chronology because nothing happened tonight.
There was some offers made by Ralf who came to my house at around 3:00 p.m. but I didn’t want to do anything big tonight. Shawn also called me up asking if I wanted to have a Play Station night but I just noted how I have to try and get some earlier sleep for this job on Tuesday.
I know I haven’t had much experience in the workforce yet I know I can do plenty without needing that experience. If I take this job on Tuesday then it will show I’m no pushover when it comes to working again, I don’t get frightened that easy. However, I speak too soon, how do I know that I won’t disclaim myself when I arrive at the station and walk back home or better yet, not even wake up.
Let not fret get in the way of my sleeping tonight. As the time breeds close to 3:00 a.m. I must pardon myself from tapping duties of keyboards and jest with my dreamlike visions tonight in sleep.
