A Laptop Dream and a Forgotten Anniversary (Part 2) – Mad Chaos: April 20, 1999

Waking Up at Five

Today I was a bit more fortunate of waking up a tad earlier (If you want to call it that) but waking up at 5:00 p.m. is still way too late. These very late nights and later afternoons of waking up are beginning to affect me and I do believe that these are the latest days of record that I have ever been waking up. Staying awake should be toned down to a lesser degree but it’s just like going on a diet and gaining all your weight back plus more.

Late nights might have been chopped down by striving to sleep earlier on some occasions but I’ve always come back to my late sleeping habits. Time has fallen on confused feet when it comes to my dispositions. A result where I will one day wake up at normal times is questionable to say the least.

Money Plans and a Laptop Dream

For the first couple of my hours before writing in my Diary I was just sitting around and watching television. There came a letter in the mail today for Primus Optus so my mum can now ring overseas. This morning around 5:00 a.m. while I was typing away at my computer the phone rang and to my surprise it was one of mum’s brothers from Yugoslavia. Dashing upstairs I woke her up from sound sleep but she wasn’t too fettered with sleep to spring out of bed and talk on the phone.

My new form for the link has also been sent to me and with Monday being a public holiday I gather that I will be getting paid on Tuesday. With this money I will be heading back to the Gym, pay the rest of my telephone bill (Only $25) and put some money on my Credit Card. These are the months where I will actually start saving to pay off my Credit Card, juggle going to the Gym and the telephone bill all in one. If there will be jobs coming my way I will take them and with that extra money my chances of paying my Credit Card off quicker will be more visual.

Dreams will not be dreams anymore if I will be able to save enough money to buy myself a laptop computer. The most I am willing to spend on one is up to $2000 and it makes you wonder why I would prefer a computer besides a car. On top of that, I will be saving for a home computer of around the same money when the new millennium arrives so here’s to high tech wizardry and what it will yield to me with these forthcoming years.

Lyssa Rings With a Job Tip

The only outside association that I received was when Lyssa decided to give me a call at 7:00 p.m. Off the bat she told me of a job in the paper that she thought might be a great prospect for me. The position advertised was for a Graphic Designer that didn’t need any experience and they were willing to train. Being in Alexandria they just wanted people to send in a fax of their resume. Being nice I wrote down the details of the job but I don’t think I am willing to travel to Alexandria for a salary below what I would like to expect.

Lyssa also informed me that she had tried calling me last night but I had already left for the movies at that time. Discomforting sounds came from Lyssa’s end on the phone as she appeared to be in agony. Taking the phone away from as she began to moan I gathered this was a result of Lyssa getting pain during her periods and when I asked I was right. “I stayed home from work yesterday because it hurt so much” Lyssa explained. Our conversation only lasted a couple of minutes as she only wanted to tell me about the job in the paper but as we hung up the phone I knew that Lyssa probably wanted to speak for a little bit longer.

An Anniversary Nobody Plans

Writing the date for today’s entry I realized that tomorrow should be a vital day of when Lyssa and I began going out, an anniversary if you will. Tomorrow will be far from a celebration but just another day of sleeping in, moseying around, maybe being invited out and probably being called by Lyssa. The days of celebrating that forgotten era has extinguished in the last two months and I don’t believe that I will be making an effort to remember what tomorrow meant to both Lyssa and I.

From all the times that I have tried to make it memorable to the both of us after Lyssa and I broke up there hasn’t been an experience where it felt like I wasn’t doing all the giving. I’m past giving and not receiving any appreciation and if Lyssa wanted to have the both of us remember tomorrow she would do so but I doubt she will. Going out of her way is something Lyssa just doesn’t do, it’s not her temperament.

However, despite all this negativity I must say one positive. There isn’t a day that goes by where I don’t thank God for giving me the chance to love. Life has rewarded me with the knowledge of knowing what love is and I grateful for such a glorious wisdom.
