Dim Room, Decoy Mum
My conversation with Lyssa ended around 4:00 p.m. and not feeling like getting up I got myself back to sleep. The only reason I keep feeling lethargic in my room is because the real light in there is so dim. There are so many trees out the front of my window blocking light that it’s always shaded in my room and it’s the most shaded room in the entire house.
Just before moving on, Lyssa used her mum as a decoy when Penelope’s mum gave her a call back. Advising Penelope’s mum that Lyssa’s mum would soon be home she cowered off fearing another adult that would not be taken for granted as easily as Lyssa and thus, she ran. When the time arrived to 6:00 p.m. I finally woke myself up but for the next half an hour I was just lying on the floor relaxing.
Juggling Calls and Excuses
In that time I received a call from Ralf who basically just decided to blab on about everything except for the night at hand. In our conversation I received a call from Lyssa and chatting to her beforehand we tried still to make plans of heading of heading to the movies together. Lyssa was called by Kieran and DJ and along with a guy called Lorcan she was invited to a dinner with the three of them. Lyssa was tossing up whether or not she would head out with me to dinner and then head home before 9:00 p.m. or head out with the three of them and get home two hours later.
Getting back to my call with Ralf as Lyssa rang up Kieran to talk with him about the possible night I noted to Ralf that I had to head to the Gym and that I would call him back in an hour. Getting off the phone with him I knew I wasn’t going to the Gym but I said that for two reasons.
One, to get Ralf off my back with his blabbing ways and two, if Lyssa and I were going out that would give me an excuse for at least an hour before I called him to go out. In that departed time from my conversation with Ralf I waited for Lyssa’s call but as she mentioned she was heading out with Kieran (As I gathered she would because for some reason she hates spending money on me) I took the brunt of it with ease because I was expecting it.
Our conversation beforehand would have had some part to play but I think Lyssa was just spiteful. While I was chatting to Lyssa in this short time Lyssa began tearfully telling me that everything had hit her at once. My feeling the need to finally release what had been on my Chest probably for months had seen the light as Lyssa’s tears had also wept in that limelight.
What Lyssa's Dad Said
It all started when Lyssa had seen her dad a week or two ago. He mentioned that story about how he’s cheating on his wife now but he doesn’t know what to do about it. While he was drunk that night he visited Lyssa he also mentioned that he ran away from the responsibility of both Kuper and Lyssa when he broke up with her mother because he couldn’t handle it.
Lyssa’s dad ran away to Melbourne because he was afraid and he didn’t want to face them but now he regrets it as he never gets to see them grow. “Each time I see you you’ve always changed” he noted and Lyssa got sad because she felt the same way.
As Lyssa tried telling me about her problems she also remarked that I wouldn’t want to hear about them and that I wouldn’t understand. The shoulder to lean on was no problem but Lyssa was right in saying that I wouldn’t feel what she was feeling because I haven’t been in her situation. “I miss Nikita” Lyssa blurted as Nikita is the only one that knows what Lyssa is going through as she is herself. Right now Nikita is up at Port Phillip or something like that.
Comfort for Lyssa
In our last conversation of the night DJ called up Lyssa to ask her if Kieran had been saying anything about her and what he thought of her. From what I know the both of them are going out with each other but from what I can see, the both of them aren’t comfortable enough with each other in the area of being openly communicative.
In our dying seconds and my compassion for Lyssa feeling that our relationship was ripping into tatters as her relationship had faded with her father I mentioned that she could try calling me when she got back home. If I were to be home when Lyssa called she could sleep over my house as she now wanted to but if I was out, bad luck. We ended our lengthy conversation there but I forgot to add that Lyssa asked me why I never did go out with Jewell for a second time. My response to that was because I didn’t want to and the opportunity didn’t arise but I didn’t remark how effortful my attempt was.
Waiting for Ralf Again
Waiting patiently for Ralf to arrive my patience was once again exceeded. We all know Ralf, he loves taking the scenic route and for another night he had evaded the hasty bug and caught the leisurely bug instead. In the hour or two that I waited for Ralf to turn up I was called by Shawn wanting to come over to my house with the Playstation.
That sounded appealing to me but I didn’t want him to come over for the night because I wanted to go out and I also thought it would be good to have Lyssa sleeping over for the night. Giving Lyssa a call as soon as I was finished talking to Shawn I hoped I would get her before she left and I did.
Noting to Lyssa of the turn of events I asked her not to call me for the night as that would put me on a spot of retreat with whoever would have a discerning eye at my house. Telling Lyssa that I would call her if I got home before 11:00 p.m. she agreed with that and we said goodnight to each other. Lyssa didn’t live up to her expectations and as I didn’t stay home for the night, I found that Lyssa called me for the night when I checked the callback number.
Picked Up at Last
Finally getting picked up by Ralf around 8:00 p.m. we headed out for a drive to Campbelltown but in the midst of that we received a call from Keith. Requesting that we head to his work so we can chat about the night at hand we made our way there. As we were jumping out of the car we started to make up an excuse that we were heading to his brother’s house if we wanted to get out of there.
Ralf’s wanting to be the man of the moment does take it’s toll sometimes as his wanting to be the leader usually leaves him with only himself to lead. Ralf didn’t want anyone else coming out with us for Friday night and I think it was so he could teach them a lesson or exclude them from a great night but I think it done the opposite. Well, not the opposite but I think it would have been a better night with more than two people.
Comparing Ralf to Ali
Looking closely into the new relationship between Ralf and I he’s trying to be what Ali was and I’m sure he’s got other plans than what I just described but our friendship although nicely built is without many a thing. For one, like everyone else I loathe Ralf’s babbling ways and when we go out together I usually hate being the one who has to put up with his leisurely and lost ways.
Ali and I were more able to make a night by ourselves because the night would automatically appeal to me with the fast pace of driving, the locations we visited and the compatibility between each other. Ralf and I are definitely not on the same level and anyone who says we are should have their brains checked.
