Phone Calls and Plans

Arriving home from the Gym I had something to eat for half an hour and finding out that Lyssa and Ralf called me I decided to call Lyssa back first. We talked for about ten minutes which was lacking in intelligent conversation because Lyssa was tanning her body for the weekend and listening to her mum.

That conversation was fairly brief but then Ralf gave me a call and around 8:30 p.m. basically told me he was coming over. Giving Lyssa a call back after half an hour of waiting I informed her that we couldn’t talk for the night and she tried to hurry me off the phone because she had Kieran and DJ over her house but I had questions. Asking Lyssa if the both of them were going out with each other yet they told me that they were so I wished them some good times and headed back off the phone to my duties.

Lyssa called me back at 11:00 p.m. while Ralf was still at my house and all she wanted to know is if we were still having Friday night together. The reason Lyssa called me so late is probably because DJ and Kieran invited Lyssa out to a better deal and she was just seeing if I would have something else planned. Well, Ralf wants to do something on Friday night but guess what, I have to go out with Lyssa and that won’t sit too well with everyone if they find out, it’ll happen.

Comparing Arms With Ralf

While Ralf was at my house and after watching the Grammy Awards I asked Ralf to take off his jumper and flex his Biceps so I could measure them. When I came back home from the Gym I recorded my Biceps girth and to my surprise I was 15.3 inches in the largest area of my Biceps.

Gaining a fair amount in the last two weeks on my Biceps I knew that the size was only this big because my muscles were still pumped but when I measured with Ralf hours later my Biceps were clipping 15.2 inches. Getting Ralf to measure his arm girth I thought he would be around 18 inches by just looking at him and on his first measurement where I done it for him his Biceps girth on the left arm was 15.5 inches.

That surprised the hell out of me because Ralf is known for his size and looking scary but here I am just knocking on the door of his Biceps size. Measuring his right hand he was 16 inches there but still, I am only 0.7 inches away from his Biceps size, pretty good shit. I was thinking about asking him for an arm wrestle but I thought I shouldn’t go that far.

Looking Back at My Waist

As I promised at the start of this entry I will add some more research and facts to this Diary and that is of my measurements for the past three months. Now today upon getting back from the Gym I tried looking back in my body’s memoirs in search of a leaner waist size and the earliest I could find was in 1994.

Back then the largest I ever was had been 28 inches and considering I started going out with Lyssa in 1997 I gather I would have been around 30 inches or just above it around the waist. Lyssa advised me today at Campbelltown that she loved it when we started going out and I was skinny. Loving my body back then Lyssa noted that my Biceps once flexed used to have a defining line under the ball of the Bicep but now I don’t have that anymore, only bulk and size.

Lyssa also informed me that I started to gain weight when I started to go out with Lyssa and I blame that on the both of us constantly being at each other’s house and not going out enough with friends or exercising. Now that I’m not going out with Lyssa anymore I have more time to devote to time management skills and exercising and that’s just what I’m doing.

Aiming to Lose the Gut

Measuring my weight in the Gym today I weighed in at 84.4 Kilos and considering I used to weigh around 75 Kilos when going out with Lyssa I have gained a fair bit. Nevertheless, my next couple of months will aim at losing my gut, losing my fat and becoming lean.

Feeling that I will maintain most of my size during this process I figure that because I’ve been growing in my muscle groups and keeping my stomach at a constant chubby size. I’m not losing fat and I’m not gaining it so I need something extra to help me lose that weight, skipping. Now, my chronicling of my bodies measurements starts on December 1st 1998 and tonight is the latest that I’ve taken measurements. Below I will devise a graph that will read the advances but I will only include three significant dates out of the seven measurements taken.

The Measurement Table

1-Dec-98 30-Dec-98 28-Jan-99 25-Feb-99

Chest: 43.5 44 43 3/8 44

Biceps: 14 3/8 14 6/8 15 15 2/8

Forearm: 11 7/8 12 1/8 12 3/8 12.5

Waist: 32 3/8 32 7/8 33 33

Hips: 39 38 7/8 38 7/8 39

Thigh: 24 2/8 24 6/8 24 5/8 25

Calf: 15 3/8 16 15 6/8 15 5/8

Neck: 15 1/8 15 1/8 15 2/8 15 2/8

Weight: 79 Kilos 84 Kilos 82.5 Kilos 84.4 Kilos

Reading the Numbers

Notice that the Chest fluctuated from big to small every two weeks whereas the Biceps kept growing in girth without fail. This would be due to me being able to measure the Biceps more precisely where the Chest would be harder to measure by myself and thus, these sometimes improper evaluations. Apart from the Biceps almost increasing by an inch in the last three months The forearm has seen 0.2 inches of growth per month, that’s promising.

My waist went up with my body’s weight and I feel the late December high calorie diet had plenty to do with it. On top of that the supplements that I took that also helped me bulk up would have had a contributing factor from making me increase size in my stomach by almost an inch. The hips have been rather unchanged throughout as they haven’t been worked out directly.

Thighs, Calves and Weight

The thighs have grown despite no direct work but I feel that the bike work, my dancing and the recent skipping could have some part to play. The calf went up since I started measuring and it peaked early but nothing dramatic there as well as that for my neck. Lastly, I increased weight within three months and once I broke over the 80 kilogram mark I was cheering and happy. In three months I gained almost 5.5 Kilos and considering all the muscle gains I have made with that I believe the both of these weight factors have been working with each other.

A Goal of a Smaller Waist

My main goal now apart from working out and getting larger is to decrease my waist size from 33 inches to something like 30 inches. That way I will be able to sit down without my stomach sticking out a fair distance. Let me remind all reading this that I have to suck in my gut when doing my waist measurement and I mean, suck in my gut. Flexing my gut will do the same with a couple of points to an inch added but I figure if I keep breathing in when measuring I should come out with adequate researchable answers.

Forgetting Small Things

Before I end this Diary entry let me just remind myself that I tend to be a forgetful person. Lately I’ve been forgetting small things like what Lyssa and I talked about over the phone and little details that I would have to be told twice and sometimes more for it to sink into my head.

Maybe it’s the change of climate or my Biorhythm Cycles but this sudden forgetfulness has been taking its toll on me. Lyssa told me about Pedro heading off to Switzerland a week or two ago and when she was at Pedro’s house for his farewell he was headed to Switzerland. When we play card games I forget who shuffled the last hand or what the point score is always guessing over or under. Nevertheless, I’ve always been one without proper common sense even though I tag myself a smart person who knows what’s going down.

Everyday Scientist

My parting words shall now be this… I am an everyday scientist. Each day in the kitchen I mix cordial to perfection, I combine different assortments of food, I partake in the research of burning food to a perfect heat and crisp and thawing is a body of knowledge in itself. Each day I partake in science, be it in the kitchen, at the Gym or at home while I type in this diary. Let that be a lesson to you all out there who are in need of a lesson, what a lame lesson…
