The Phone Call Where The Angry Button Got Pushed (Part 1) – Mad Chaos: November 8, 1998

A Shabby Night Out

Tonight was a shit night despite the fact that we headed out to a nightclub and visited a chick that I chatted up over the phone from Simon’s selection off his phone. When you delve deeper into the facts you will find out that we visited ‘Two Moon Junction’ for half an hour I had absolutely no confidence when approaching some hot chicks and the girl we visited was fat, so fat you could sit her down in white pants and everyone would think she was the ‘Opera House’.

Well she wasn’t that big but despite having a sexy name like ‘Verena’ the only nice thing about her was her eyes, oh yeah and her personality of wanting a dick. From what I was told by Simon as I was chatting to her on the phone, Verena was bi-sexual so I was excited as you would gather but more on that after my chronology.

Waiting For Lyssa’s Call

Upon coming back home on Friday at midnight I waited and waited for Lyssa’s call but I didn’t receive it. Nearing 4:30 a.m. I got myself to sleep and was pissed off that Lyssa didn’t call me all through the day. When I finally woke up at midday I called Shawn to see if he could gather Tatton and then we could head out to Pizza Hut but once he called me back he informed me that no one was home at Tatton’s house.

For the next hour I slept and then waking up once again I had myself a shower. In that time I was called by Lyssa and the phone rang five times but of course, I didn’t know and I didn’t hear it. For the day I was pissed off because Lyssa hadn’t called me still and though I knew she would be at her modeling thing in the City where she was setting up a date to take some modeling shots I thought she would be home.

Call Waiting Wins Again

The time was nearing 2:00 p.m. and against my nature I gave Lyssa a call wanting to know why she didn’t give me a call yesterday but I didn’t ask that, not straight away anyway. Our conversation started like normal as I asked how Lyssa’s appointment was in the City. Informing me that the photo shoot will be in a couple of weeks where they will make her up a portfolio Lyssa also told me that a famous photographer (For Cleo or something) will be taking her photo’s. Lyssa was on the phone before I gave her a call and her line was busy so she obviously was talking to someone and had call waiting.

That pissed me off because Lyssa (Who to my knowledge hadn’t called me yet but did) didn’t regard my conversation as important. When I actually did talk with Lyssa Nikita called her and then Lyssa asked if she could talk with Nikita for fifteen minutes because she was getting upset that she hadn’t talked with Lyssa for a while. That was the same feeling I had but Lyssa cared more to satisfy Nikita rather than talk to a very bored me.

For half an hour I waited for Lyssa to call back from what should have been a short conversation but somehow I knew this would happen. Bored and impatient I gave Lyssa a call who was still on call waiting and asked Lyssa how long she would be. Lyssa started getting angry and raising her voice insisting that I be patient and wait and as I did that Lyssa took another fifteen minutes from what she told me would only take a minute.

That is pretty inconsiderate when you think about it. When Lyssa and I did get to talk once again the start of the conversation was relatively subdued, neither of us said much words. Not sure how the conversation started but I started talking about last night at the party and then asking Lyssa how her night was she told me it was fine. Then I decided to inform Lyssa that I had come home at midnight solely to talk with Lyssa but I then learnt the truth of why she couldn’t call me back.

Where Lyssa Really Was

When I gave Lyssa a call last night she was sitting in the kitchen like I had thought along with not only Ali and Penelope but also Stan who is Ali’s now best friend and thinks he knows me. As Lyssa explained his freckles and blonde-red long hair to me she gave me the clue that he hangs around Stoney from up the street but I’ve never seen him or can’t remember him. Lyssa told me that they sat around the table and talked about me for a little while.

She didn’t tell me the content of the conversation or who started the chat but it was probably Stan telling Lyssa that she knew who I was after I gave Lyssa a call at midnight. The reason Lyssa didn’t call back was because she slept at Penelope’s house for the night because she didn’t want to be home alone. They all left her house at 3:00 a.m. and Lyssa came back home early enough to head for the City the next day.

Lyssa’s mum came back from her date at 5:00 a.m. which is a bit of a surprise. If I had known that Lyssa’s mum wasn’t coming home until 5:00 a.m. I would have been over her house for the night but Lyssa didn’t know what time her mum would arrive home. So my Friday night was relatively shit and Saturday night, well you don’t really want to know all the bad things that happened today but they were pretty depressing.

Harsh Words Over The Phone

The day was hot enough for the beach but because Lyssa had to visit the City we couldn’t head out and that was one of the bummers of the day’s events. As Lyssa and I got more intense with arguing in our conversation we said some mean things to each other. One of the things that stuck in my mind and that I almost hung up the phone for (And I never really hang up the phone on anyone purposefully) was for the reason that Lyssa told me I had changed for the worst after breaking up with her.

“You hang out with dick head friends, you have no money, no job, you don’t care anymore about your life, you don’t write poems anymore and now you’re going to nightclubs so sucked in on missing out for the whole time you were with me”. Those were pretty harsh words and the only reason Lyssa started getting angry at me like that was because of this, let me explain from the start.

A Joke About Fights

Lyssa and I talked about the Fisher’s Ghost Carnival that was on tonight and explaining that it might be boring I sarcastically noted that a few fights would liven things up. “You’re a fucken dickhead” Lyssa exclaimed and it was obvious from this moment that Lyssa wanted to get me angry and have cracks at my patience because she was jealous that I was now having fun at nightclubs. Lyssa and I then got into a tussle and when Lyssa said “I don’t know any guy that would like to see a fight happen” I then expressed my feeling by saying “Well, I think that Ali would say the same thing if he was in my position right now”.

Imad would also be like me and as boys will be boys I was starting to get annoyed at the fact that Lyssa was verbally abusing me for being such a dick head because of what I had said. To be honest my sarcastic remark wasn’t that bad and any other time Lyssa probably wouldn’t have said shit but tonight she decided to let her PMS take effect and I told her that her rags were making her say shit. Lyssa then started defending Ali and saying he was sweet and when Lyssa and Penelope were going to pick on a girl at a nightclub Ali said something like “Why do you both have to be so childish for”.

Clap, clap, clap, good on ya Ali, the girls think you are so mature now, clap, clap. From there I told Lyssa that all she’s ever done after I split my friendship with Ali was defend him, all the fucken time.

The Question About Ali

From there the angry button within my mind had been reached and upon pushing that button to the limit with her remarks about Ali I started to flip. Lyssa started telling me that I was a schizophrenic and that pissed me off even more. Lyssa then told me how I had changed since we had gone out but half the shit she had said about me either wasn’t true or it was happening while I was still with Lyssa. In my flip mode I started arguing how Lyssa is always defending Ali over me and that’s just not right.

It’s alright for Lyssa to use me and call me over her house to have sex but beyond that Lyssa doesn’t care that much. The fundamental question of Lyssa’s love for me was asked that has been in my mind for so long itching to be asked. Starting off cautiously and warning Lyssa about what the comment would be like I asked Lyssa “If we ever got back together and I asked you not to speak to Ali anymore because I had a problem with him would you do it”.

Lyssa thought for a couple of seconds and then told me she wouldn’t give up her friendship. “So you would give up your love for me over what you consider more important, Ali’s continued fake friendship” was my next query.

Lyssa then started second guessing herself and told me that she would have to be in the situation to know but those words cut me pretty deep, to know Ali succeeded in becoming more important to Lyssa. I’m pretty sure that if Lyssa asked the same of me, to stop talking to someone like Penelope and Penelope approached me one day I would tell her “Look, I’ve got nothing against you personally but you’re not Lyssa’s favorite person right now and I think I’m going to respect that and walk on by.

Hanging Up For Good

Lyssa and I ended our conversation because I was questioning why we were even continuing to be friends if I don’t like her choice of friends and she doesn’t like the way I abuse them and how I go out to nightclubs. “What’s the point” was my argument and as Lyssa asked “So you don’t want to talk with me anymore” and I agreed we hung up the phones.

Stubborn About Ali

I’m not sure how long this silence is going to last between us but I can bet that if I don’t call her she will call me when her period is finished. It’s not Lyssa that I don’t like but her attitude started to change when she started hanging out with Ali and Penelope. Lyssa was more sensitive towards me before Ali brought his party to her and we never used to have the problems we do now.

Ali and I will never become friends again and if we ever do (Which I doubt because we are both as stubborn as each other) we definitely won’t be as close and our relationship will be downgraded to passing waves from inside our cars.

Lyssa usually complains about how it’s my loss and my fault that I’m not Ali’s friend anymore but I’m doing great without Ali. It’s just Lyssa’s friendship that has been taken a bit away from me because of him. Lyssa must also realize that it takes two and if Ali was the one that hung up the phone on me and betrayed me not only by lying to me but by disrespecting me, Ali should be the one to be calling me and apologizing, not vice versa. But, he obviously has had enough of my shit and I’ve definitely had enough of his controlling ways and wanting to be better than me.

A Warning To Ali

But now Mr. Ali it’s all being taken away from you, your cars, your license, all your money, your pride, your health and one day I will rid you of your robbing ways and either take Lyssa back to where she is most suited and away from your evil threesome… or I will just totally forget about her.
