Kieran Gets Invited Over

The first phone call that Lyssa received was from Kiley and the second came from Kieran. Automatically Lyssa invited him over to her house because as it seemed, Lyssa and I were having a boring time. There was no movie to watch, Lyssa’s mum and brother were home and we were stuck in Lyssa’s room to stare at each other.

Lyssa told me that she’s painting her room blue while we were in Lyssa’s room but that’s about all the excitement we got from our conversation. Kieran also had something that I envy, Kieran had a car and Lyssa realized this when she suggested that they head out to get something to eat, maybe Chinese Food.

Walking back into the room Lyssa informed me that Kieran was on his way over in half an hour after he put his new fish in his new fish tank at home. In that time I got a bit more depressed of my current situation and lay down on Lyssa’s bed under all the covers as Lyssa was in the toilet. Deciding to jump on top of me we lay there next to each other, Lyssa on top of the blankets and me under them fearing that Lyssa’s mum would walk past us.

Maybe for that reason Lyssa was hesitant about lying down and preferred to be up and energetic. Opening up the curtains to let in natural sunlight we waited patiently for Kieran engaging in conversation until Kieran arrived. That dampened once again my attitude but it didn’t upset me, Kieran’s alright.

Hunting Through The Yearbook

Looking through Lyssa’s year 12 Year Book Lyssa was trying to look for the subject of our conversation beforehand, Marley. You see, I asked Lyssa on Saturday night if she knew a girl from St. Pats called Marisol (Which I thought was her name then) and when I asked Lyssa if she knew a Marley from year 11 in her school she became curious of who I supposedly liked and started flipping through her year book pages.

Everyone was listed in her book from year 7 to year 12 even if they were absent but we couldn’t find her name, strange. Either I’m being fed rumor upon rumor where I can’t work out what’s truth or Marley joined St. Pats in the last couple of months.

Lunch At Red Rooster

After our little venture into Lyssa’s year book we decided it was time to head off and get something to eat. Jumping in the back of Kieran’s car we made plans to head to Block Buster and rent a movie and after that we were going to grab something to eat. The rain was once again coming down and as Lyssa’s choice of food was closed (Chinese Food from Maclin’s Lodge Motel) we headed to rent the movie ‘The Jackal’.

Heading to Red Rooster we decided to sit inside and as Lyssa bought me a meal we sat down and ate what to some of us was our first meal of the day. Lyssa had eaten lightly beforehand so she was the only one with food in her belly but she was still hungry. Digging into our food we noticed an Asian family (Or from that area anyway) and as Kieran said to me he was disgusted just thinking about them eat (Especially the old, scrawny looking grandfather with aged hair) I wondered what could be so bad, they’re only human.

So quickly these civil thoughts were revoked from my mind as we burst out in laughter. Not to the fact that we had cracked a joke was our laughter so intense but to the fact that the old Asian guy burped real loud and was content in making plenty of body noises not really caring about his surroundings. Kieran thought this was funny despite his feeling inside his stomach that was telling him that chunks wanted to fly out of his mouth.

Lyssa didn’t like the look of the scrawny old man and she too started to get sick as she covered her amused face. Myself, I wasn’t too worried about his actions and as I didn’t really feel sick I joined in hysterical laughter at the loud burping and noise making Asian sitting across from us. They were all being weird but if weird is different to what we know then they were weird.

Ice Cream In The Rain

Making our way out of Red Rooster Kieran didn’t finish his nuggets and handing them to me I tried to finish them off with Lyssa’s gravy. As they both ran to the car in the rain and jumped in I told them I would walk over to our next destination as they reversed, Macdonald’s. Lyssa was a bit surprised at my request but it was only a hop and skip away so finishing my nuggets which was the reason I remained I made my way across to the drive in lane en route the inside of Macdonald’s so I could gather some serviettes.

Cleaning my hands I jumped into the back seat of Kieran’s car and upon arriving at the ordering window Kieran ordered two ice cream cones, one for me and him. Lyssa didn’t want one but she had a couple of bites out of mine before I took the rest of it. From there we were headed straight back to Lyssa’s house and after an hour or so of eating and driving around we were on our way home.

Movie Night Under A Blanket

Lyssa had herself a smoke before the movie started and as she asked me and Kieran to come outside with her I knew that I didn’t really want to sit there watching her smoke so I decided to prepare the movie. Five minutes later they came back into the room and as Kieran visited the toilet Lyssa brought out two blankets, one to cover Lyssa and I on one couch and the other for Kieran.

This gave me a false sense that Lyssa wanted to get close to me without Kieran knowing but I think I could have been wrong. Within Kieran’s eyes I could sense that he was a tad dismayed as Lyssa sat next to me with the blanket covering the both of us and every now and again he would sneak a look at the both of us going out of his way to tilt his head backward.

The movie itself was pretty good and almost as soon as the movie started Lyssa put her knees on top of my legs making the first friendly body contact. That gave me false hope and as we kept exchanging spots on the couch where we could put our legs and arms we kept crossing and leaning on each other.

A Hand On Her Leg

There was one time when I decided to place my hand on Lyssa’s leg, not necessarily in a sensual way but just to let her know that I appreciate her sitting with me. The vibes that I received after I had done that weren’t that good but I couldn’t really tell how Lyssa was reacting. Lyssa would leave my hand where it was and her legs where they were but later she would persist in moving herself slowly from my grasp and in forcible moves disguised as her trying to get comfortable she would remove body contact from each other by a few millimeters.

Now and again she would embrace slightly once again but the vibe since my hand adorned her leg as an ornament was becoming diminishing in enthusiasm. By the end of the movie it was clear that Lyssa didn’t really want to engage in sensual touches of meaning and rathered it be kept friendly.

Feeling Like A Loser Again

When the movie was over we headed to the backyard and this time I endured Lyssa’s longing for a smoke and escorted her along with Kieran to the backyard porch. Kuper was also out there reading the Sunday paper and as I knelt on the ground and all else sat down I regarded myself as different in comparison to all else that were seated. That’s when the thoughts of me being a loser started flying and I started to make sense of what Lyssa angrily shouted out over the phone a day before “You’ve changed for the worst”.

Kieran looked like he was having a great conversation with Kuper and I was just wondering why that couldn’t be me being talkative and making sense in my conversation rather than blunt and uninteresting. That has something to do with my confidence I gather and as I sat there dazed at the sky I hoped that Lyssa would keep my mind at company.

That didn’t happen though… After Lyssa commented with “You’re not talking very much” in which you can’t really say much to anyway she started joining in on the conversation between Kuper and her brother and I would have done the same but I didn’t know of much about what they were making conversation about. There I sat instead talking with my mind and figuring out for the first time how much of a loser I thought I was.

Taking ourselves back a little, when Lyssa was taking money out of an automatic teller at a Petrol Station for our lunch we bumped into Constantine who has some mad but fake cleavage, oh and her boyfriend. Despite that little bit of information I walked up to Lyssa with no confidence while she was alone at the teller machine and prompted myself to ask her over to my house later in the day.

Lyssa told me she couldn’t because she had an assignment to finish for College that had to be handed in the next day but she would have if she could have. That didn’t ease my mind or help build my confidence at all and somewhat upset I walked back into the car to hear Kieran once again have a good conversation with Constantine.

Asking Lyssa To Stay

Later in the day as Lyssa was in the kitchen and just after the time we came back inside from Lyssa’s smoke I asked her while she was alone if she wanted to sleep over my house. Once again Lyssa turned away and told me she couldn’t for obvious reasons. From then forth I knew that my necessity to have Lyssa sleep at my house was popped from memory like that of a balloon by a pin.

That topped onto the fact that I thought I was a loser had depressed me and about then or just beforehand was when I started asking myself “Why did Lyssa ever like me and start going out with me when there are so much better looking guys out there than me”. Lyssa has seen better guys and I’m sure Lyssa could have had better if she waited but my low self esteem was just constantly questioning why Lyssa found me attractive.
