Watching the caps
I played around with the shop and all the different caps. It would be good to have a screen in the account where you watch your caps go down one by one, with a counter next to each item.
Analytics with breadcrumbs
I started to wire Google Analytics properly, so it tracks each page and sub-navigation. At first it wouldn’t separate things like Measure and Weight inside the Body tab; it counted them all as Body.
After a few development cycles I got all the pop-ups, pages and buttons to show up as individual screens. In the final version the page titles are breadcrumbs, so if a pop-up opens from Personal Bests, it shows “Personal Bests” and then the pop-up on the same line. That helps me figure out where a person is in the app and build funnels.
I also settled the name a bit more. BeStreak Personal Best Tracker sounds better.
Subscriptions
The premium version now has a before and after reveal: you drag your finger across and one photo slides over the other. It looked pretty cool.
In Google Play Console, the button to add subscription payments was grayed out, because the subscription infrastructure wasn’t built into the app. I installed the plugin into Capacitor, uploaded a new bundle, and created a closed testing environment. After that the subscription settings appeared, and I created a subscription for BeStreak Premium.
The photo cap
On the treadmill I came up with an idea and talked it into my phone. With premium, you get up to 20 photos in the cloud. On the free tier, four. Beyond the cap, photos are saved to a folder on the device.
If you downgrade from premium to free, the cloud keeps everything. Nothing is deleted. The app just displays up to the free cap, with a notice, and the hidden photos reappear if you resubscribe. I pressed send while I was still on the treadmill, and when I got home Claude had four questions for me.
Who is visiting?
Late at night I checked the analytics. There were 15 daily active users and 117 views today. Some of those are me, but most were coming from the United States and Canada.
