The new name
I rebranded the PB Tracker to be called BeStreak. It has the word “best” and the word “streak” in there. My only issue with it is the initials, so when I designed a logo yesterday I asked it to avoid using the two initials on their own.
A domain and DNS
Last night before sleep I purchased the dot com for twelve bucks for one year. Then I connected the DNS settings to the Firebase project. Claude AI told me to keep a marketing version of the website on the main domain and put the app on an app subdomain. It was going to take at least an hour to propagate, so I went to sleep.
Today I pressed the verify button again and it worked. Then I made a new CNAME for the app subdomain, loaded it up, and yes, it showed the login page. Fifty minutes later it had an SSL certificate, which is great. I’ll have to add icons and get everything polished up.
Rebuilding the footer
Late in the evening I made some wholesale changes. Instead of an Add button, the footer now has a Train button. That makes more sense. In Train I have personal best, gym session and exercises. There’s a Calendar view, and Routine is its own tab with the routine planner and templates.
I had nine tabs altogether on a phone, so I started removing some. Now that the voice set is inside the Train tab, it can come out of the top navigation. Cloud sync doesn’t need an icon either. It’s automatic, so maybe it can just be a toast. Photos can fold into the Body tab. That leaves four buttons at the bottom and two at the top, and in settings you can add buttons back if you have the space.
The rest timer has been added and looks good, but some pop-ups fall behind other screens, so I have to change that.
