Writing Through the Fatigue
Sunday 12:12 p.m.
Continuing this ever illusive saga, I am here again, with diminished allusion and suppressive thought, to hold conjunctures as mediocre prey. Precise enumeration has much significance as does the completion of chronology and as with sane mind I do write, no deprivation of sleep shall restrain these fingers. Like strings from my mind, I do pluck the very chords of my fingers, fabricating yarn and composing music that to ears deceives and to eyes embellish.
Such creativity, such power, and I hold it, grasp it, for forsythe to commend, such diligent preeminence these words do receive. What not can my hands achieve that my mind cannot also occupy. What dost these fingers reach for when thought hath fore sought it more. Believe my words, administer my heart, avow these thoughts and you shall transcend, above all, to the reality that is my rightful living these pages forsook.
Xavier Will Not Take the Hint
Getting back to the chapter of my life within Wednesday, there are a couple more things that I wish to include about my day at work otherwise not pointed out in my cumbersome state. Not too positive if I had pointed this out beforehand, Xavier pestered me again at work calling me twice through the day. From what I recall, Xavier wanted to have lunch with me but having my heart firmly against his will, I uttered responsively “Sorry Xavier, I’m having lunch today with someone else”.
Simple as that it was but I felt the pressure before saying those words. You could hear Xavier’s silence ensue thereafter in which a slight rejection had fallen his way. These insecurities of other people make me feel bad for what I had done and despite him being a possible gay or pedophile I still felt wrong for turning him down. It’s easier to say yes than it is to say no, that is my adage on this situation.
For the second time in the day I was called by Xavier but a touch later in the afternoon. This time around he yearned to know what time I was catching the train home so that we could catch it together. Once again, his gay attributes stemmed out surpassing his masquerade of white lies as he made me loath speaking to him all the more.
“You know, I would love to see you on the train tonight” he enticed, again, emphasizing the word love. Now, when you picture a voice in your mind, don’t think of those high pitched gay voices. Just think of a normal old guy’s voice, diligent, low but meek and submissive. How he continually hints his gayness towards me is unbearable and I would love to whack some sense into his aging head but I don’t have such shallow valiance.
Sushi in the Park
That pretty much are the accessories to my Wednesday apart from one or two small details. Completely slipping my mind is the facet of lunch I did not care to remember or feel to explain. Therefore, as I had rejected Xavier of our having lunch together and not having any plans with anyone else I decided to make my long awaited trek back up to Hyde Park. It had been such a long time since I had made my journey to an old advocate and chronicler of the lost years.
Grabbing myself sushi from Wynyard and catching the train to Town Hall I embraced a comforting feeling of warmth and purity when I did scathe the very presence of such longevity. Peace was at hand, the tranquil nature of my settings and the surrounding ethers of my erstwhile years had comforted with such praise, the pious vestige bearing my deifying limbs. Without a little clock to keep track of time I with kempt memories did enjoy my lunch.
When all was over I headed back to work walking so as to accomplish some window shopping on the way. However, I couldn’t overstay my spree as I had to get back to work on time for Najla. Having bumped into one of her old friends from preschool the two of them were having lunch together. It turns out that Najla was five minutes late anyway as I headed back to work a tad late and she realized what time it was.
Window Shopping on the Way Back
I decided to help Najla complete the photocopying she was doing as she darted out the door, met up with her friend and they had lunch together. As for window shopping, I stopped off at ‘Calibre’ for the first time, the posh shop just down from Lyssa’s work and near the corner. Looking at many items in there I saw two or three excellent pieces of fanciful thread, a touch too rich for my blood.
Most of the clothes there were a good price but if I were to buy a $400 shirt or jacket I would have to be serious about wearing it. Heading into the next shop where I was going to buy a pink work short I noticed a baby blue polo neck sweater and knowing I’ve been looking around for some time now, I decided to try it on.
Fabric nor color really suited me and it wasn’t my style so I placed it back upon the rack spending a couple more minutes changing back into my work shirt and tie. The shop assistant there told me it was down to $140 and then when I told him that I wasn’t interested he knocked the price down to $100 hoping to persuade me. Unwavering, I didn’t fall subject to his precise tactics and unbeknownst to the time, I headed back to work.
A Familiar Panic
Later in the day at work I looked around for my wallet and my heart struck a familiar chord when I couldn’t find it in my bag. Alarming Najla that I might have lost my wallet again I looked in my jacket’s pocket, hoping that it would still have remained in there from after lunch. Luckily the wallet was there and my heart dropped down a notch. If I had lost my wallet I wouldn’t have been too distraught because now it’s only a matter of time before I become forgetful again.
It’s hard to keep track of my wallet and if I did lose my wallet I won’t be as distraught as the first time my wallet disappeared. However, I am much more careful now on the train and awareness has also increased regarding the whereabouts of my wallet when I do sit in foreign places. Anyway, that is the progressive accessories to my Wednesday however placed they may be, let me now start with the train trip home.
