Ettamogah Pub On Doomsday

Lyssa and Naqi went out to Ettamogah Pub last night. Because it was supposedly the end of the world last night as predicted by Nostradamus, Lyssa told me that she wanted to try everything new before the supposed end of the world. Upon hearing these words I decided to stick away from the obvious reply of cynical comments but I stuck right away from such simple analogies.

Lyssa didn’t do anything wrong with Naqi, they played pool, the pokies and from Lyssa’s hosted words, they spoke of Penelope all night. Lyssa also told me that for all of last night and the whole of today, strangely, she could do nothing but think of me. Lyssa told me that she was thinking of giving me a call tonight so that she could come over to my house, spurred on by this unknown desire. When I expressed my knowledge that it was the end of our world, when we broke up, Lyssa uttered “Now I’m sad.”

Asking me if I felt the same I told her that I wasn’t really fazed but for someone to be thinking upon the day we broke up for a week, it must play a portion in my mind. “That day was so sad” Lyssa uttered as we went partly through the motions and how Lyssa came to my house that night asking me for a hug. I felt bad for not wanting to let her in and now I feel bad knowing just how desirous Lyssa was to undo her words of discontinuance. Now that I think upon her feelings and aches only, I do feel aches in the pit of my stomach.

Dropping The Phone

Initially when Lyssa told me that she went out with only Naqi last night my anger and unbelieving nature had me drop the phone and tap it angrily on the waterbed. I figured that this had to happen some time and despite it being so late after our breaking up it still angered me greatly. Despite not wanting to blame Lyssa I picked back up the phone and blurted out “How could you be so stupid.”

I know it was wrong to unleash such potent malice upon her and it almost made her cry but I did rectify myself. As was with my second conversation tonight with Lyssa, I explained to her that the only fault of hers was her naïveté. At no time through the night was Penelope’s eminent breaking up with Naqi her fault. Lyssa was just naïve to think that Naqi was on speaking terms with Penelope enough to agree on Naqi going out and having a good time with Lyssa.

Lyssa also knew that she shouldn’t have put herself into the middle of a dispute by appearing to side with Naqi in response to her naïveté. Lyssa is very naïve in situations and although she has a mind of wandering, she knows when to cross the line and when not to. Unfortunately, Lyssa overstepped her conscience to Naqi’s lying mouth and that is why she is feeling so bad. Naqi has to be damned for his actions and for placing Lyssa in the middle of this dispute.

Lyssa told me that she will be seen as the person who broke up Naqi and Penelope but in my eyes, my vain eyes, it was Naqi’s fault all along. Such a prick that thinks only with such dastardly soil and thinks not of other people’s pride. Naqi, who will lose all his friends, his girlfriend and any livelihood after today.

Friends And A Gold Chain

My first conversation with Lyssa ended when Lyssa had to jump off the phone to watch ‘Friends’. Before I called, the person on the other line turned out to be Penelope in which they were talking about everything that happened last night with Naqi. Lyssa was receiving the third degree from Penelope but after it all Penelope didn’t blame Lyssa but the pig himself. It wasn’t until our second conversation that my own naïveté bid me to realize the truth that was right in front of my eyes.

Lyssa told me that she chatted with Penelope on the phone just after our conversation in which she officially broke up with Naqi. He headed over to her house with the question of their future and like she hasn’t done before, she ripped off the gold chain given to her by him and regarded their relationship over. It wasn’t until Lyssa remarked “Today is the exact day that Naqi and Penelope broke up and the exact day that we broke up one year ago,” ironic don’t you think.

Just like us, they celebrated a yearly anniversary not too long before a big decider ended their relationship. If this were a movie or Melrose Place you would think that the storyline is so untrue, that it would never happen. However, everything in my life is a Hollywood story and it is amazing how each day there is some new adventure, some new mystery, some new happening or something from the past coming back to haunt me. Today it was the situation of irony and predicament that created such an unbelievable storyline but believe me, all these words, these paragraphs, these tales, they’re all true.

Making Lyssa Cry Happy

Our second conversation only lasted a couple of minutes as Lyssa was heading out with Nikita jus to get out of the house. Lyssa worried me when in an artless commiseration she noted that she just felt like committing suicide. Nikita had a go at Lyssa for being the one to break up Naqi and Penelope and since the both of them were going out together I figured Lyssa would be feeling downhearted.

Therefore, I made her cry tears of joy as the smooth sweet-talker of sensual reality came into play from such past conversations. “Come over tonight,” I asked Lyssa, “I’ll give you a hug, would that make you feel better.” It made me feel good to give Lyssa some hopeful tendencies as I knew she felt as if her name had been rolled through the mud in people’s minds.

As Lyssa started to whimper she cried “Yes” softly to my invitation. “I’ll give you a big hug just like this time last year when it made you feel all better,” I added and knowing her tears of joy meant my job worked, Lyssa was ready to jump off the phone in a better mood. To Lyssa it felt as if the whole world was against her but I was the only light that granted her favor.

It always seems to be the way though, when I’m angry with Lyssa everyone seems to be on her side but when everyone is angry with Lyssa I will always be there for Lyssa to fall back upon. Look at me, it’s been a whole year now and still, on this day of our breaking up one year ago, I will be the arms to embrace her.

Waiting Up For Lyssa

Now as I await Lyssa’s arrival to end this fortuitous saga I shall begin on chronology. For all I know, Lyssa might not be able to get a lift over or she might not want to look like a tramp (Her words not mine) by having Nikita drive her to my house. That is understandable but what is also understandable is that Lyssa needs some care tonight. If it was possible, I would allow Lyssa to sleep over my house tonight so that we could both benefit from companionship. How great would that be to our past wrongs though.

Just to think, exactly one year from the day we broke up, Lyssa and I could right the wrongs and then inconsolable attitudes by having her feel the warm and tender love so downcast that night. Throwing away a whole year to oblivion, we could start anew for tonight, but just for tonight. Holding each other in our arms with tenderness not felt this time last year, easing the hurt that we both felt so deeply that July 5th 1998. Surety on Lyssa’s arrival is without certainty but if Lyssa does arrive I will suggest my query and she will most probably stay over tonight.
