Waking To A New Life

My day began at 5:50 a.m. today and as that alarm bell rang, I paused for a moment before opening my eyes and awakening. I knew that sleep would start to catch up to me and all my mornings wouldn’t be glory and springy. However, I didn’t hate the thought of going to work which is the most important thing and that right now is what keeps me waking up in the morning eager to head for work and have a life other than feeling sorry for myself at home.

Nevertheless, to comfort myself, I was trying to live a life without a job. In the last month of trying to get back into a routine I tried heading down to the City and visiting Hyde Park as well as getting to sleep earlier and going on job interviews or to temping agencies. That transition from a nocturnal night owl to trying to better my life of constantly having no money or future helped create the success I have now and will have for some time now.

With this new life of mine away from Lyssa I can look forward to building a new base for myself, a building block for another life. Where friends will once again bloom, weekends will be full and worthwhile, where I will be happy with my values in life and mostly, where I will be made happy by a loving girlfriend, not someone like Lyssa who back-stabbed me when we stopped going out but who’s to say that I wouldn’t have gone cold turkey on Lyssa if I found a new girlfriend.

Nevertheless, the fact is that Lyssa’s always been this powerful bitch and at one stage I did have the balls but since our break up and her finally forgetting how to love me and letting go has led to her maltreatment of myself. You can only disdain someone so much and if we were to scale this again, my peak of hatred for Phoenix (my love to hate her) is the reality of Lyssa’s blossoming loathing, contempt, negligence and hate towards me. But, who cares about the bitch, not I…

Cold Morning Commute

Having a banana and some yogurt to eat in the morning I made sure to warm myself up with the heater before even attempting to make that cold trip to the bathroom with nothing but a towel to comfort me until the hot water was in full flow. With that dilemma out of the way I had my shower, suited up, done my hair back and then headed out into the cold day which gets frostier as winter nears. Catching my normal bus and then my normal train I just sat back and relaxed for the whole trip to the City.

Trying to catch some snoozing time before reaching my stop I managed to close my eyes for ten minutes but was attentive for the rest of the way to the City. Having had only seven hours of sleep the night before I was a tad tired on the train but getting to sleep at 11:00 p.m. is considerably good. Keep in mind that I can’t get to sleep until after 11:00 p.m. because that stupid alarm clock keeps ringing at approximately that time and its annoying chimes can be heard and not forgotten.

Mail And Payroll

Having ten minutes left when I arrived at HIH I grabbed the mail from downstairs and noticed that the lady once again looked me over with an infectious smile that I couldn’t help but to personify. Taking the mail upstairs I began with it for the next two hours and once that was done I began on a brief or two before lunch. There weren’t much interruptions from other people in the office but Jana did come over and inform me that payroll had finally informed her that I was getting paid on next Thursday.

As you know, I headed out for lunch at 12:30 p.m. so I could arrive to get money off Lyssa but after twenty minutes of her wasting my time I bought something to eat, ate it whilst waiting for my train and then headed back to work. Some more briefs were taught to me as the new girl who arrives on Monday will be learning the incoming and outgoing mail as well as filing for three months before even trying to do briefs.

Therefore, I have to learn how to tackle and handle the job of briefs as that will be my main priority day in and out. The mail was done by Thalia at the end of the day where I helped her out a little because it had to get done on time. All in all it was a good day with a bit of stress just after lunch which started to snowball because of my nuisance regarding Lyssa.

Why They Hired Me

Today at work while Thalia and I were chatting away in between breaks she asked me about my interview in getting this job. This sounded like a peculiar ask as I told her that they were easy on me with the questions. It sounded like Thalia was building up her questions to some big finale and I found it to be deflating of my pride for the job when I found out I was hired basically because they needed someone urgent.

When Thalia snuck that thought into my head through passing I didn’t immediately feel less than desired by my employers but I knew that I was shown leniency and favor to the job only because they needed someone urgently to fill the position. Therefore, I am lucky to find myself in this position but shouldn’t feel any less suitable for this position because of the circumstance in which I was hired.

I know that I probably wouldn’t have stood much of a chance if there were a couple of people going for the job and I know that David or Jana didn’t really feel the need to go through my full résumé but it doesn’t matter as I have the job now. This job will be great for future positions and a great omen on my résumé if so I am fired or resign some time in later date.

In the second half of the day I also found out that Thalia’s birthday was on January 17th which means I am almost exactly one year older than her, spinout.

Missed Bus And Fish Dinner

Work finished at the normal time of 5:00 p.m. and this time I rushed a little in my gait to the station so I could catch the express train home. Despite the train getting home relatively quick it only caused me more distress when I had just missed the 6:00 p.m. bus by a couple of minutes and had to wait near half an hour for the next bus to arrive.

I was thinking of ringing dad with the $1 I had to my name but I knew that if he wasn’t home I would have to walk. Lucky I didn’t ring because dad had been out fishing and when I arrived home mum cooked me some great pieces of fish without bones for me to eat. Apart from that I had the normal boiled chicken, a meat pie and some vegetables.

Last Day Of The Week

Now the time is 10:32 p.m. and I am near ready to get myself to sleep and prepare myself for another day of work, my last day. This week has gone fast, there is no doubt about that. When Tuesday arrived I thought it was still Monday and Thursday came so suddenly. Now there is only tomorrow left and before you know it, I’ll be headed out to Byblos for Saturday and probably shopping around in Parramatta on Sunday for shirts and shoes.

This weekend will be relaxing. Maybe I’ll visit Miranda shopping center and sit along the beachside. Let me just hope that Keith sends in my Centrelink Form tomorrow and let me just hope that I get paid on Monday for there is no better cure for poverty than to cheat the government of some more money. However, since I haven’t received a penny from my work yet, I am entitled to that money. For now I must go but I will be back with pages of text for another day.
