Another Run To Court

Near the end of the day I reminded Najla that the outgoing mail had to be done so we picked it up and we started upon it. However, minutes into our folding up envelopes I was approached again, this time by Anneliese to head out to the District Court so I could file some documents. I felt privileged and honored to the fact that they had faith in my ability to get the task at hand done and as more people approach me with their problems, the more salient I feel in my duties, even if only in administration.

Receiving some more cab charges I headed out the front and looked at the sorry face that Najla portrayed as I left her with a heap of outgoing mail. We were supposed to do it together but because I am the one they look for to run the errands, I was the one that had to head out. Errands are good fun, they get you out of work and they get you out into the open air.

Nevertheless, on busy days I would rather just stay at work and finish the more important job at hand but the case is that I’m the only person right now that is confident in running errands. In addition, I love speaking on the phone now as I have that certain connubiality between my confidence and the person I’m speaking with.

Bumping Into Delphi

Catching a taxi to the corner of Elizabeth Street and Goulburn Street I jumped out with the files in my hand and headed up to the ninth floor. Knowing that I also had to head to the eleventh floor to either list or file some of the papers in my hand I thought it would be more efficient if I headed up there to get myself a ticket. It would save me waiting around twice where I could just wait and then wait less for my second visit upstairs.

Grabbing myself a ticket on the ninth floor I heard a voice call out my name from behind me and as I turned around to the distinct voice I noticed Delphi, our Law Clerk for David. “What are you doing here” she queried as I showed her the files in my hand and casually explained my purpose. As Delphi jumped in the elevator we both headed up to level 11. Having a little chat to her on the way up I collected my second ticket and then said goodbye to her as I jumped back into the elevator to head downstairs.

The thought to ask her if she wanted to wait so we could share a cab charge was in my mind but I didn’t know how long I would be there and I knew that Delphi just wanted to get out of the courts and back to work. She was being spirited in our conversation and it is a change from how we didn’t say more than a word at Fitzroy’s farewell simply because we weren’t accustomed or too comfortable with opening up back then. However, being at Fitzroy’s farewell opened the door for Delphi to call out to me and that is a good starting point…

Sizing Up The Solicitors

Heading back to work I helped Najla get out the mail as it was 4:00 p.m. and she was still halfway through the job. Doubling up on the workload we were still receiving letters from our Solicitors who wanted to have something mailed. In regards to the Solicitors, I’m glad that I received Margot’s filing and briefs to do because I feel that her little squadron is the best to get along with. Margot has just got a great attitude and it’s easy for me to walk into her room and feel totally welcome as I take briefs off her.

Then there’s Livia who before today was rather reticent and she still is but now I think more of her as we are on par. Livia was soft spoken and pleasant to talk with and she reminded me of one of those Greek or Italian women that waited until they were married for sex and who still lived with their parents. Then there’s Shayma with the thick foggy glasses that she wears, certainly a character like I. Shayma drew smiley faces today on a little notice she sent me.

The reason for this was so that Shayma could make Legal work more interesting and those smiley faces were there because she knew how we felt having to do these loads of work. Shayma is certainly a character and someone who is fun to be around. Then there is the other Mireille who is a Secretary for Margot and is also softly spoken but a pleasant person. I’m not sure what everyone thinks of me at work but I’m pretty certain that I’m one of the few people who doesn’t have someone to have lunch with on occasion and looked more insecure when commencing on the first day.

Slowly I will build up my confidence until one day I will be convincingly spark up congenial conversation that my personality will no doubt bring out. Already I’ve started to bring out my individuality to Najla making her laugh through the day but I have to break open this shallow eggshell and begin me adventure into the reality of work relations.

Leaving With Najla

When the end of the day was evident Najla and I packed our bags and headed out to the lifts together. She had to visit the toilet first in which I waited but after that we made our way down the stairs and had a pleasant conversation as usual. When Najla and I finish work and are headed for the station is when we enjoy our finest conversations. Even though work is a relaxed atmosphere with constant work we don’t feel that there is time to sit around and chat so we postpone that for when we finish.

Catching my train to Central Station I caught the express train back home, something I have been doing for the last three days at work, I think actually for the whole work week. I just find it more comfortable and relaxing to sit on the express trains as opposed to cramming on a normal train with everyone else. On Tuesday when I was catching the express train home I sat next to a gorgeous looking girl in which I’m not sure if I mentioned.

The Girl On The Train

Anyway, I sat next to this girl who looked as if she had a wedding ring on (Now I remember speaking of her), her hands were divine and she had the most beautiful eyes. On Wednesday I went searching for her gathering that she probably catches the train everyday after work and I was right. When I sat down I noticed her jumping on the train and as I started to snooze that’s the last I saw of her until I jumped off the train.

I’m not sure if I had seen her on Thursday but I saw her again today on the train. Again she looked her dazzling self but a little more plain than the day before. I noticed her when I jumped out of my seat, walked past her and then thought to sit back down where I had originally stood up from. The reason I jumped up was to find a better seat with a view of beauty but having it two rows behind me wasn’t too bad at all.

Plans For The Weekend

Now I know I have plenty more to write about but I have other events to look forward to tonight. Well, I’m not sure if you can say that I am looking forward to Chevy’s but I have done part of my deed here tonight so I am content with heading out for a while. I don’t want this weekend to be as poorly planned as last weekend but with my heading out to Chevy’s tonight it is shaping out to be roughly the same.

Therefore, I must get back to these pages when I come back home from Chevy’s tonight, in bad sorts or good. I still have to speak of my Wednesday coming home, how Binh came over and my trip to the Gym. The urge to speak of Thursday is still whispering in the air and as I then get to the more fundamental Friday I will have succeeded total culmination.
