Settling In at Work

Today is the last day of the month and I believe it has exceeded most of my expectations. Tonight is a late entry which will no doubt be my concluding dialogue so I will try to make the depiction brisk and the philosophy all the more conclusive. This month has pulled together nicely with mostly great returns for my weekends and my efforts at work.

When it comes to the newcomers of this month, work has really exceeded my expectations. Not only have I settled in but like an ongoing river’s flow, I am continually meeting new people, making new friends and now I’m even heading out to lunch with Linh. On the topic of my lunches, I don’t tend to overuse a certain area like Keith tends to do with our weekend’s planning.

At the start of the month I was getting accustomed to sitting at Hyde Park but these days I’m moving around all over the place. To add the line of reintroduction, gradually I have been making that extra attempt to workout and I do remember thinking it would be difficult whilst holding a job. Lyssa and I after one year of going through highs and lows have gradually diminished along that thin line.

Lyssa and the Slow Fade

The low this month was when Lyssa played me for an idiot when I was trying to sell her a television and I gather the high was when Lyssa and I began talking liberally after my staying at her house. Nevertheless, each month we take a step down from our involvement and lustful deliberation another small step into complete apathy. Nevertheless, Lyssa for this whole month has still kept in contact with Ralf and is only on an increasing libido.

The meshes of our association could have fallen upon daggers that night in which Lyssa asked me to sleep over. Although I submitted to my temptation of sleeping over at Lyssa’s house I only had to slap my wrist for we didn’t make the mistake of going all the way. That could have been the confusion of my month and a total mix-up of direction. Nonetheless, I pulled through unscathed and relatively unconfused and now Lyssa and I can only start our declining cycle again.

There will be a day when Lyssa won’t feel the need to call me every fortnight as I can go without talking to her now. That never used to be my tune months back when I was looking at the phone with my churning gut tickling my stomach with anxiety, wishing for Lyssa to ring. Rather, at that stage I was just heading through my stage of loneliness and wanting to speak to any womanly voice, my mistakes were made to call Phoenix.

Clubbing Gone Wrong

This month has brought forth a brimming first week of action as we headed to Byblos but like every other week, something has happened in order for us to head home early. Two weeks ago it was Keith ruining Chevy’s by heading home early and even last week was abandoned early at Kangaroo Valley by no direct fault of ours. I just can’t seem to get the clubbing scene right but I gather that it’s just the people I go out with, not the atmosphere of the night.

Tonight could actually be a breakthrough of what I have been trying to devise all along. Tonight Tyler called me up asking if I wanted to head to Skirmish near the middle of August and as I agreed we also chatted about this weekend. For the first time I have chatted one on one with Tyler about heading to a club in the City. Tyler is one of my main contenders for a good night and although he didn’t show too much enthusiasm of heading to the City I had him call up Ace and see what his consideration would be.

Basically, Tyler doesn’t want to head out too far but he started to change his tune when he heard that Ace might think of driving down. The clubbing scene has gone through the floor this month and as a result of Keith’s pathetic blubbering over his losses we haven’t been able to whip up a great weekend. Ralf’s out in la-la land in which I wouldn’t stick to any of his club plans and no one else is coming forth.

It’s the old cliché proverb this month in which I’m all dressed up but I have nowhere to go. With my new club clothes I’ve even been dancing in front of my full-scale mirrors of a night including tonight. The main reason for this is that I want to create some new dancing steps and techniques that I’ll be comfortable with on the dancefloor.

Next month will definitely be one to look forward to as I’ve already got skirmish lined up and I’m definitely going to make an attempt of heading out to new clubs where I can fully accentuate my style. Next month will see me buying more clothes, gaining more recognition at work and it will probably see me trying out my new hairstyle, French Braids. I also hope that a more controlled flow will be upheld for my diary in which I won’t have to head to sleep at 11:30 p.m. every night.

Speaking of sleep, like most other trends this month which have been on the incline, the time I get to sleep has also been on the incline. I think the earliest record of my getting to sleep tonight has been 10:00 a.m. and slowly from there it has gradually increased until we saw an all time high of just after midnight. This new month will be an embargo on all disagreeable contents. The night is now getting inexcusably late, therefore, enough of capitulation, enough with philosophy, on with chronology.

Foggy Morning Commute

This Wednesday morning, beveled to the depths of the last hours and askew to the prying petals of the forthcoming days, I did wake up alight at 6:10 a.m. Sleeping in a tad by resetting my alarm I woke up to the sight of dense fog outside. Making my way upstairs I put some food on, had myself a shower and then prepared myself for the bus. Heading out to the bus brought a touch of déjà vu in respect to that last foggy day in which I took a picture.

It was quite thick as I headed down to catch my bus and it stuck around until at least 10:00 a.m. Catching the train to the City I slept lightly and uncomfortably, leaning my head upon the corner of a window. Sleep was good to find as it does come hard these days but as usual, nothing was taken away from me as I headed for work.

Grabbing the mail from downstairs I found again that I didn’t have much to say to Aleka and I feel that any association is slipping through my fingers for being so conscious of my bashfulness. Heading upstairs via the slow elevator I knew I had a whole day ahead of me and it would probably be without Najla. Nevertheless, in my mind, before heading to work I made it an object of inspired drive to work hard and surprise myself in how much I could accomplish.

Creeping through the first few minutes of the day by completing two invoices on the computer for two briefs left untouched through the night I knew that Najla would hold to her truth of her not being able to head in for the day. When Jana notified me fifteen minutes into my morning I knew that my focus on an intense day would be apparent. With this new knowledge I began with the incoming mail and was surprised as it only took me until 10:30 a.m.

The day had gotten off to a good start and with this extra time on my hands before I headed out for lunch at midday I decided to complete a brief as well as send out the remaining briefs to get photocopied. Rounding up four files in relation to my having to get a brief photocopied I called up Diskovery and made plans for their arrival.

Through my first brief the delivery guy from Diskovery came to pick up the documents and with that I completed my first and second brief within an hour. Being on top of work all day, I decided to begin on the filing as I wanted to achieve a great amount of cleaning up work. However, I only got the chance to complete a partial amount of filing and then I was off to grab something for lunch.

Hunting for Club Shoes

Keeping track of time was all revolving around my perception as my watch was still in Keith’s car which in turn was getting repaired. Therefore, I made my way to the sushi shop at Wynyard and thinking that I would make my way up to Hyde Park as it has been a while, I decided it would be best to look around for sneaker style clubbing shoes. Plain black shined shoes won’t go with the new white line pants I’ve bought, I need something more stand-out and with color.

Speaking of standing out, Tyler told me tonight on the phone that he wants to get a whole outfit in orange which was spurred on by his having orange shoes for soccer. Anyway, in somewhat of a hurry I just sat down in a side-skirt of George street just up from Wynyard, ate my two pieces of sushi and then ate my last little piece on the run. Heading to Pitt Street’s shopping complex I decided to check a couple of places out that might have been able to help me with my inquiry.

Hound Dog in Imperial Arcade was first as I noticed another good looking jacket but they didn’t seem to have any shoes for sale. Taking a look around and getting some assistance from a good looking attendant I was off on my way within a couple of minutes. My next choice of venture was the usual Hound Dog I shop at in mid-city, HMV. They too didn’t offer me much hope but the blonde girl working there did hike me onto some leads I might found interesting.

From her leads I checked out that four story shoe store, full of shoes. There I did find sort of what I was looking for but I want a defined contrast between black and white with some groovy lines. I also looked around Gas Station which didn’t yield any shoes but another good looking jacket and shirt were noticed, both for clubs.

Uncertain on what time it was I headed back to work stopping one or two people on the way for the time. When back at work Esme went off for lunch and in that hour I did feel dignified from having found so much of David’s filing. Having an hour before David came back I wrote a couple of names on a list which were all big lots of filing to be put away and one by one it got done.

Through this time I had a chat to Delphi about my bid to find club shoes as she paused at my desk looking for files. Ottilie was also a source of my infectious courtesy as I helped her and Delphi both in their bid to find files, and effectively. With David coming back from lunch at 2:00 p.m. Thalia also came back and asked if I wanted to head up to a court on Phillip Street that I haven’t been to already.

Walk With Thalia

Weighing what work I had to complete and how I would probably be late for mail I decided to head out and run this errand with Thalia for a little while. Taking a couple of minutes to get ready we started on our walk to Phillip Street which was a fair hike. Within our little journey we chatted about many things and as I mentioned Lyssa in conversation (As my Ex Girlfriend) Thalia remarked “You know, somehow I think that Lyssa isn’t just your friend”.

Being quick to reserve her thoughts I noted that Lyssa and I sustain a relationship in which we talk but as far as being my ex is concerned, she definitely doesn’t cross that line. I believe my memoirs also came up in conversation as I told Thalia how I had a late night last night. “That must mean you write about everything at work” she laughed, “About Fitzroy’s drawings and of how mean we are”. People always tend to see the bad commodities that could stem from my memoirs, not the favorable. I guess with one sided minds all they can see is disdain and contempt in people’s minds but in reality, that contempt is created by their own insecurities.

Back at work for the rest of my day I started on the outgoing mail at 3:00 p.m. but found that it was all complete and to my surprise, before 4:00 p.m. For the next hour I completed another brief and done a touch of filing before it was time to go home. Having a couple of minutes to spare I didn’t leave until 5:05 p.m.

A Quiet Day Without Najla

Being without Najla at work is as if these limbs were drained of their life. The effervescent adaptability that stems from being around Najla is vanquished without her presence and today just went to show how our relationship at work is greatly sustained. Najla and I get along famously together, today without her was mostly repressive silence, forlornness.

Chat at the Photocopier

Some time in my day I had the chance to make my way up to the photocopier in the kitchen and chat with that tall girl who reminds me a tad of Phoenix because of her height. Sitting in Tatiana’s section I said hello to her at the photocopier and I’m not sure what I said after that but we got to chatting.

She blew me away when she told me that she has been working three different jobs since she started working with HIH five weeks ago. Reveling upon the fact that we started around the same time I was a bit discouraged upon hearing how she was leaving at the end of this week or next week. Not knowing her name as yet, she is starting work as a barmaid in St. Leonards, something she has wanted to do for quite a while.

She also told me how she was Scottish but as she arrived in Australia at the age of two, she’s almost completely lost her Scottish accent. As we were on the topic of accents I smoothly brought into play the girl that I think is attractive, Calla. “She’s a good sort Calla is” she explained. Uncertain on what she meant I asked “How do you mean a good person” in which she replied “She’s a good person”.

Somehow in her regards for Calla I could distinguish a sense of her trying to note that Calla either had noticed me and said something to this Scottish girl (Who was trying to find out my feelings) or I was just completely oblivious to her intentions. I gather mine weren’t evidently clear, but clouded in work gender and bias.
