Waiting at the Ettamogah
The time was 6:45 p.m. when we made our way into Fun n Games but we had until 7:30 p.m. to wait so the session could start. Therefore, I suggested that we head down to Ettamogah pub downstairs where we could just sit down and chat. That idea went along fine with both Osama and Pari who were a bit reluctant at the thought of first setting foot into a bar or club scene but they knew that it was their first step into Saturday night, if that night is still to happen.
Taking a seat on the seats between the pool tables and the bar (Near where Keith and I sat by ourselves that first night) I noticed one of the guys from Gym whom I always see but still don’t know his name. He was there with his girlfriend and I had a little chat to him as he made his way to the Daytona game near the pool tables.
Discussing the Gym as we probably always do he informed me that he goes around 1:30 p.m. these days and without further ado he was on his way and I to our conversation. Showing the menu to Osama and explaining how it was costly he suggested that we get something to eat. “Do you want to get Macdonald’s” suggested Pari and without much more fuss or thought we jumped up and made our way to the car.
Everyone Being Courteous
With only fifteen minutes before the session was to begin we jumped in the car and headed off for Campbelltown Macdonald’s. Pari decided to jump in the back seat and through the rest of the night he, along with the rest of us, was humble. Come to think of it, we were all being humble and reticent to authority, everyone treated each other in a good and humane manner.
Each door that was held open granted a thanks, each suggestion kindly answered, each thought attentively deliberated and everyone’s say counted. Heck, when it came to picking something for the night we all kept saying “Well what do you want to do, it’s up to you”. There was a common bond between the three of us and courtesy played the length of it.
Driving into the drive-through at Macdonald’s I wasn’t asked if I wanted something but what I wanted. Being as courteous and polite as they I asked for nothing commenting that I had just eaten but they were threatening to buy me a meal so I just settled for a small orange juice. Money it seems was no issue to the both of them as they shared what they had, didn’t fuss about what to leave and when it thinned later in the night we worked our way around it for the same results.
Basically, one for all and all for one was their motto and if I had money it would have stuck with me more generously. Driving back to Macarthur Square after purchasing our food we parked in the outside parking this time around as we were in a hurry and didn’t want to search. Only a couple of minutes late into the Super Session both of them shouted me in without a worry and without taking heed to my saying “Don’t worry, I’ll pay you back”. I guess Pari thought I was polite enough to grant him my muscle magazines and Osama thought the same when I handed him the CD’s.
Air Hockey Defeats
Grabbing my stamp we each separated into our own little section to play our first lot of games. My first entertainment was upon the motorcycle game where I didn’t fare too good but I had my fun. It was after this game that I started to realize there weren’t much options to chose, Fun n Games wasn’t too big a store. Despite this I jumped onto Virtua Cop with Osama and when our arms got tired we jumped onto Daytona as Pari mucked around on some other car game with some other guy. From there we all jumped onto Air Hockey to play against each other.
Pari and Osama were first and on a close game, Pari was beaten. From there it circled around as I played the winner next and then Pari in which both games I was badly beaten. I was my own worse enemy as all my harsh shooting led me to receive own goals. For the next half an hour or more we continued on this game where I won only once against Osama, the winner of all games. It was amusing to watch the concentration in his face and the reaction within his wiry arms.
Kofi and Evander Show Up
While we were all playing Air Hockey I noticed Kofi and Evander walking around all dressed up. Kofi was in a purple suit and as they were glancing around in Fun n Games I stopped to chat with them. It turns out they were looking around for one of their friends because some laboring guy downstairs told Kofi to step off some tiling he had just laid.
“Why don’t you just ask me politely” replied Kofi and from there I’m not too sure how it went but I know he was a muscle clad man so Kofi didn’t want to try and mess him up. Asking Kofi if he knew anything about Mikaere heading to jail he verified that he was in there for at least six counts of armed robbery. This came as a surprise to me but what’s more of a surprise is that Mikaere is in lockup for more than ten years.
Heading to Video Ezy
Air Hockey was the last game that the three of us played and a couple of minutes after 9:30 p.m. we headed out on our way. “What do you want to do now” Osama asked the both of us, “Do you want to go home and sleep or do you want to stay out”. Not knowing Osama or Pari that well I wasn’t sure what exactly they wanted to do but as usual we were being courteous to each other until we finally came to agreement that we would stay out.
The suggestion of renting a movie emerged so we headed with a hot foot on the acceleration pedal to the Video Ezy in Campbelltown. “I know a girl there that can get us a movie for free” remarked Osama. It turns out that he does security around that area and he talks to this girl for the all of the day when he does work because he gets bored. However, when we arrived I found it to be the old movie warehouse where I stole so much movies.
At first I was reluctant to step close to the complex incase the same owners were there but when those worries were soon displaced by new faces I crept in there with the both of them. Osama was lying about being a member as he had to sign up and I thought he was also lying about knowing a girl but that was true and she was blonde, fairly decent, an average looker.
As Osama filled out his membership me and Pari perused the new release pile and again, we were too lenient on our own choice because we didn’t want to rule out each other’s choice. With Osama soon in the action of picking it became more mindful until we all finally decided on ‘Wild Things’. It was a movie that I thought Osama wouldn’t like because it had supposed sex scenes in it and the other two comedy choices would have been better but none of us had seen this movie and therefore, we jumped at it.
Scraping up what they had left in their pockets we found that they had only four dollars to their name and we needed an extra dollar. There was nothing but flint in my pocket and with their scraping all they could it was time for Osama to ask his friend for some assistance. In the end Osama got a dollar off the price of the movie which isn’t too big but it embarrassed Osama a little bit.
Supper at Pari’s House
Taking the front seat again in Osama’s car thanks to Pari’s generosity and respect we headed to Pari’s house where he wanted to get something quick to eat before we viewed the movie. Remembering that I had been there at one stage a long time ago the house was a bit mysterious to my recollection. Stepping into his lounge room I noticed like we all did, his brother sprawled over the couch. Despite that we made our way to Pari’s room and once there he offered to make us all something to eat but kindly we didn’t want him to make too much of a fuss.
Turning the television as he ate we watched ‘The Panel’ and chatted a little bit about the Gym. When Pari was finished with his Weet Bix we made our way back to Osama’s car and headed to my house. The time was nearing 10:30 p.m. as we arrived and as I brought down drinks for all of us and chicken for myself (Which I offered to share around to modest men) we began watching our movie.
Wild Things Disappoints
Lying on my bed I had a fair idea of what I was in for and it was funny to see Osama’s reaction to what he thought was visual blasphemy. When the sex scene arrived Osama kept saying “Wasn’t this an M15+ rated movie” and all we could do was shake our heads in uncertainty. The movie itself wasn’t great at all and if it wasn’t for that one sex scene it would have been worthless.
Not too sound too sex-dominant, there were more twists than you could poke a stick at and the script had the adequacy of losing me at any time but I followed it fairly well. Osama on the other hand had more trouble getting accustomed to what fit where so we all gave the movie a confused thumbs down. The movie finished just before 12:30 a.m. and it wasn’t too long after this that Osama and Pari felt the need to head home.
However, as they were leaving and thanking me generously for my generosity we made loose plans for them to be over tonight. Osama is supposed to be getting his new Mazda Austina 1994 model today and if he does he will be over my house to show it off. Even if Osama doesn’t come over tonight I have a feeling that it won’t be the last I will be seeing of them. Rather, I feel that this little grouping will be that step of friendship that I was looking for. People who I will feel comfortable around, who won’t criticize me and who will be open-minded about heading to places I want to go.
NATO and the Round Table
The will to write definitely is more powerful in me within this entry. Therefore, just as I am about to end it and start watching important news on the television I will say a couple more things. For one, today has been a downer where I haven’t received much good news and I haven’t been anywhere. Thus, if something doesn’t happen tonight the surreal beginning to this month will have been jaded of today’s non-eventful undergoing. Speaking of important news, I feel that NATO draws parallels with the famous knights of the round table back in the medieval days.
When you think upon it, the knights joined together to fight against what is evil and only do good for the purpose of victory. NATO has the same principles but, the only differences are that NATO has a bigger and more sophisticated round table, oh yeah, and they don’t carry swords anymore. They are the upholders of peace and all calamity they do trod upon with their crushing feet. Apart from that, I will end this entry of irregular patterning of thought by saying I am a quiet guy. One who loves writing and poetry and composing songs. Let not the need for change or distress ever take that enjoyment from me…
