Shawn Arrives With a Console

To start from 11:00 p.m. Thursday night let me note that this was the time that Shawn came over. I was about to type in my computer when I heard an unfamiliar car out the front but as it stopped and the car left again I thought nothing of it. Nevertheless, it was Shawn and carrying with him a huge box he informed me that a hired Nintendo 64 was in there. Shawn also brought over a video with Chris Tucker and knowing we were going to spend an all-nighter and then some more I prepared myself.

Knowing well enough that we wouldn’t get to watch the movie because we would be relentless in playing Madden 99 we hooked it up to my television. Once all was set and done we started playing Madden 99 and I must admit, at first it was hard to get used to but I was smoothly rolling balls out in no time. It’s hard to see all the players in motion when the action is so close to you. If I had to chose the best year of Madden I would have to choose Madden 97.

Season Mode Begins

Shawn and I were just playing tournaments with each other and getting used to the game and then finally around 1:00 a.m. we started playing the season. This is what Shawn and I wanted to do when Tatton was over my house also on an all-nighter but because he was sleepy we didn’t get to play the Superbowl. Around that same time we started playing season Tatton and Keith turned up out the front of my house, once in an unnoticeable car, his mum’s.

As they walked into my house and then into my room I started to get somewhat frustrated with them because I was trying to concentrate on the game and Keith was the one to keep talking. The both of them were just at the movies I think watching ‘6 Day and 7 Nights’. Keith stayed enough to play a game against Shawn which he was fluking at the front but then decided to win a losing streak. The time came to 2:15 a.m. and it was time for both Keith and Tatton to head home, wishing us a great many hours playing the Nintendo.

Calls in the Small Hours

Last night and into the very early hours of the morning I received three calls. One of them was by Imad in the early hours of the morning seeing how I was doing, the usual shit. As we talked and I informed him that I was on the Nintendo he said the usual that he would visit me someday, when will it happen.

Another apart from Imad was Tatton but he rang us in the very early hours of the morning to see if we were still playing. Actually, Shawn and I ended up playing well into today’s afternoon and Tatton called around the start of the afternoon. “Are you guys still playing” he asked and as we answered we all started to laugh. Ralf also gave me a call today but it was around 3:00 p.m. when he decided to give me a call.

At this amount of time Shawn and I were nearing the playoffs and we didn’t want to fuck up. Ralf wanted to know what I was doing for tonight but I had to inform him that I might be sleeping and to tell you the truth, I’m seeing a blurred computer screen right now as I type. If this comes out all funky and doesn’t make any sense, blame my lack of sleeping for almost two days.

Shawn and I played the Nintendo until 5:30 p.m. today taking snacks in between of watermelon and buying some hot chips and fish from Bradbury shops. That was a good meal and considering our eyes were half closed it was good brain food to wake us up. Sadly, I can’t head out to the Gym today because I really feel sleepy and it would degrade my muscles too much. Instead, I’m going to wait until Saturday morning and hoping that I wake up early because of my sleep deprivation I will head to the Gym early.

A Nail Biting Playoff

Now I’m heaps tired and I’ve basically explained my whole boring day yesterday as well as the straight seventeen hours on the Nintendo. What I haven’t explained is the better parts of the game and some highlights so I will of that now and then rest myself. There was one game that I played against the computer and it was in the playoffs. It was sudden death, whoever lost the game loses their chance in the Superbowl.

Well, as it happens I was kicking the computers ass without them even scoring at first but the tide started to turn in the second half as by my mistakes and being a fool to think they wouldn’t catch up they done just that. The last quarter took half an hour itself as we were constantly battling each other for position. Well, with a field goal the computer ended up being in front by a touchdown with the extra point and it was my kick return.

There wasn’t any more than 15 seconds on the clock and as I had done countless times before I took that ball and ran it all the way for a punt return touchdown. Well, it was either that or I brought it to at least halfway and then in the last dying seconds ran it to the right and with great luck made it in to overtime play.

Overtime Heartbreak

Overtime had an objective and all one person had to do was score any type of points and they would win their chance to the Superbowl. For three quarters being 5 minutes each we kept punting to each other not being able to get more than one good first down out of our triumphs. In the last quarter of time out and on the dying seconds the computer snapped the ball as usual. What wasn’t usual is what followed and that was a running play up the side that beat all the people that were attacking, sliding them off the body armor as if it were greased up or something.

Because of this touchdown in the dying seconds I lost the game and as a result had to play Shawn with another team that made it to the Superbowl. Well, Shawn won all his games against me, the Superbowl by 20 points and then the championship season. What I adored was how with Emmitt Smith (When I was with the Hudson Cowboys) I won the Most Valuable Player award, Shawn was resentful. With Emmitt Smith I rushed an average of 250 yards per game that I played in, that’s why he’s the man.

Sleep Beckons at Last

Anyway, now I just received a call from Jett asking me if I wanted to come and see ‘Urban Legend’ at the movies but I told him that I would have to miss out because of the state I am in now. I’m almost slurring these words onto this page and I’m definitely slurring them in my mind as I speak them subconsciously whilst writing them.

Now as the time is 7:18 p.m. I think I will get myself some sleep and with hopes I will wake up around 7:00 a.m. or a little later tomorrow morning. With that I will head to the Gym and then like I’ve just been doing now with Jett, we’ll be heading out to Kicks to have a real good time with the real beautiful babes there…
