Remembering Old Kisses Between Dirt Tracks (Part 1) – Mad Chaos: February 21, 1999

Dates That Still Linger

How much longer will I be remembering the time that Lyssa and I got together. How much more nights and months will it take for me to forget about past broken dreams. These early hours in the morning do indeed tell of the night that Lyssa and I got onto each other and eventually got together.

What I have to ask is what time in the night did we actually get onto each other. If it was the late hours of the 21st then this is indeed the day to be celebrating but if it was after midnight, well, it doesn’t matter anymore. However, the 21st sounds much better than a day forward so no matter what, let it be that way despite it not meaning as much as when Lyssa and I were together.

Just thinking upon important dates and dates of insignificance I guess I now see February 1st as insignificant. This comes as a shock to me because I thought I would remember the first day Jewell and I started going out with each other but as it turns out, nothing has been written of our remembrance. Now that I’ve been forced to remember the important dates of Jewell and I this date is also very significant to me two years ago.

What should be more remembered now, this date two years ago when I kissed Jewell for the first time or this time one year and eight months ago when Lyssa and I first kissed, I don’t think that’s a hard call. Apart from my Sonnets about the lost years Jewell has been forgotten and shunned from my mind. To add more to that, Jewell is not named in these Sonnets but her essence spoken about and her role in the lost years.

Poetry Refuses to Show Up

Speaking of poetry, today is supposed to be the dawning of my greater days of poetry and because I have to get up earlier on Sunday I am sad to note that I can’t use my mind poetically tonight. Apart from my not being able to tap into my poetical side I don’t think I would do a good job, I’m not feeling capable in the mind tonight.

Well, this happens most of the times when I want to write poetry and it turns out to be a gem but just having a shower a moment ago I didn’t even come up with a single thought of poetry. Luckily, tonight I will get to finish off the chronology of Friday night and last night which were both aspects of this month’s name and having significance with the eclipse of normality.

Something once again that is out of the normal is taking Tatton’s car out and doing some off road racing, some dirt track busting and it was great fun. On top of that, I got to ride his car through the dirt course up near Glen Alpine but getting back to chronology, this story will be told soon.

A Police Van Spoils the Fun

Getting back to the story of circling around Simon’s car up at Macarthur Square I will once again note I had a bad feeling about it. Driving both Tatton’s car and Keith’s car down the wrong way of the one way road (The road under the pedestrian bridge heading to the station) we looked to see if Simon’s car was still smashed up into a railing, it was. Turning onto the bottom part of the road and then again to get out of the parking lot area we noticed a car pull up and to our immediate surprise, it was a police van.

Both Keith and I started to get nervous and anxious as why they were there and through my head I kept thinking that Simon was probably hiding somewhere to see if we would pass the car. It was ironic how the cops turned up at the same time that we started heading out and we thought that it was a planned stakeout. If Keith and I were anxious in his car I wonder what Shawn and Jett were like.

They said they weren’t scared at all but Shawn was driving a bit weird and didn’t know which way to head out. The cops looked like they were only there for a breather and stuck near the buildings, not the car park. How stupid are the cops though, the car is right there yet they need not report it.

Dirt Tracks Around Glen Alpine

From there we headed to Glen Alpine and driving on the main road before the first roundabout that heads into Glen Alpine they pulled up to the right and onto the dirt. While Keith and I watched them they headed up a dirt track and done some off road racing. I wasn’t in the car at the time they got up to that mischief but coming back out they tried to get up a very steep hill in Tatton’s car that had more putty in it than a sculpture.

The hill was at least fifteen meters and more than 55 degrees in angle. They got up half way and all we could hear from the distance was the three of them laughing. Reversing down they tried once again with a run-off but once again, they failed. Keith didn’t want to take his car anywhere near dirt, he was a reason but still, you know Keith by now.

From there we headed to Minto and once again as Tatton’s car was heading off road I wanted to jump in and called out. Keith then informed me that he was going to go home so shaking his hand he left and I jumped into the back of Tatton’s car. The area we were in now was the industrial part of Minto where I used to ride my bike down the very steep parts of this hill where there were at least ten ramps coming off a mountainous hill.

There were large bumps all through the dirt road that led to that steep hill and Shawn wasn’t halting on the speed. Trying to get up that huge dirt hill which would eventually lead us to the service station on the top part of Minto where the roundabout is that takes you to Raby, we couldn’t. Just a couple of meters up the steep hill and we started sliding back down. Shawn tried a couple more steep hills as he drove recklessly along the bottom track but finding nothing that would get us up we headed out of there, out of our fun zone.

Trouble at the Leumeah Pantry

From Minto we headed to Leumeah Road Pantry and sitting down for a break and looking at the dirt that accumulated on the car we were asked for money from this ugly red headed bitch. Not only was she drunk but she had nothing else going for her and on top of that, she knew Shawn. Telling her that she had to get ten cents off everyone before she got my money I told her to ask this guy walking into his car for money. When she did he started abusing her with words and after calling her fat he made a joke about her being very ugly.

This made her break loose with her lady friend backing her up with words but this guy that looked like Drew Carey looked in control. I myself was on no one’s side but I started saying “Yeah!” and pointing at Drew Carey like the chick was chopping him hard, she wasn’t, she was just babbling. After that I called him Drew Carey and with the applause of my acquaintances he scurried off to do his job, lessened by humility.

Conversation and humiliation was now over and as we jumped back in the car and Shawn said he couldn’t be bothered driving it was Jett’s turn to drive. What was great about this journey of Jett’s driving was that we lead to the train crossing where they were going off road at Glen Alpine. The only difference was that Jett turned off left instead of right on the Glen Alpine road and had to go on the wrong side of the road just before the big roundabout to get onto the railroad crossing.
