A Crayon Love Letter for Keith’s Car – Mad Chaos: March 31, 1999

Shawn and Tatton Turn Up

Implementing my chronology now, let me begin with Sunday night once again. Having finished my trek to find out who Isla and Lorna were I was back home before it started getting dark. I gather that I was just watching television, having a shower and the rest of the shit I do when I have nothing to do but around 8:30 p.m. someone arrived at my house. Opening the door I was surprised to find it was Shawn and Tatton and letting them both in we sat around my room, entertaining the floor. Tatton took a copy of FHM and started reading it, Shawn watched television and I just occupied myself.

The three of us couldn’t have been more calm and relaxed for that half an hour they were over my house but in that time we did break out in sporadic conversation. The both of them were heading up to Macarthur Square to watch a movie and they had invited me to head up with them. Contemplating whether to keep myself at home like a maid and serve like a wench to the pitfalls of my Diary but I decided after some considerable deliberation to head off.

Keith’s Car at the Movies

Leaving my house at 9:15 p.m. I had to take a jumper with me because it was so cold outside, the seeing of a winter to come. Once at the movies we noticed Keith’s car parked there as we were heading to the doors. This made us have a little laugh as we were talking about how he would probably be up at the movies.

Making a stroll around the movie complex we tried figuring out what to watch but after being watched ourselves we made our way back outside.

Writing the Love Letter

Leaning against Tatton’s car Shawn devised a thought in his head that consisted of the three of us writing a love letter and putting it on Keith’s car. The idea became more demented when Tatton brought out some crayons and after trying to write in pink that didn’t come out too well on the paper we tried red, just like lipstick’s color.

This was a cackle for the three of us as we wrote something like “Hello Keith, I have been missing you heaps and I don’t know why you don’t return my calls but I love you and I know you love me”. The words ‘Love’ were actually replaced by hearts to make it look like it came from someone lame, someone like Phoenix, the whole plot. On the back of the letter we wrote something like “I have your cat Sooty with me and if you don’t return my love I will keep him as my personal sex slave forever, PS, your honey bunny”. Calls for some great humor don’t you think…

Planting the Letter

When the letter was finally written we folded it up so that you could see his name and we made our break for his car. Constantine and her boyfriend were actually in the car-park but she wasn’t showing any attention in my direction. Snobby she might have been but maybe she didn’t realize who I was as she was a fair distance from me. Then again, Fabian and his girlfriend who also knows Lyssa and usually chats when she sees me walked straight past whilst in the movies, what’s that.

Despite this we made our way to Keith’s car and in spite of the security guard in the car next to Keith’s I took the letter off Shawn and wedged it where his window is. There was no way that he wouldn’t see it and pick it up to read it but I still don’t know if he has yet.

Sneaking Into Shakespeare

Time had past with this whole endeavor and we we’re all still asking ourselves if we should go to a movie and sneak in. I wanted to check out ‘Shakespeare in love’ and as Shawn also wanted to we made our way to the front entrance, up the stairs and into Cinema number one, the easiest. There was only six or so people in the Cinema which I found disappointing but we made ourselves comfortable and watched the most of the movie. Through the movie one of the workers came up and stood there watching the movie. I thought he was going to try and bust us but instead he sat down himself and watched the movie.

‘Shakespeare in love’ was a great movie, good ending and it gave me some stimulus to write in my Diary that night. However, the movie finished just before midnight and there wasn’t anything else to do but go home after. Keith’s car was gone when we had left and so was the note…

Bowman Recruitment Calls Back

Forwarding now to Monday, let us make some progress and end this month’s fury. The actual time that I woke up I do not remember but what I do recall is a phone call I received. Answering the phone I was aware of what I was doing and I was surprised that it was Bowman Recruitment calling me back. Basically we talked for around ten minutes where they asked me a whole bunch of questions and just when they were about to give up on me I said what I should have said all along.

My typing speed shocked her and I figure that if it was said at the start of our conversation we could have saved some fart assing around. Selling myself short in our phone call I gathered it didn’t go well as she told me she’ll put my resume in her file. Today however I received a letter from them stating that they didn’t have anything for me but I should keep trying with their advertisements and that’s just what I’m going to do.

The Wax Sealed Letter

Upon waking up on Monday I made my way upstairs but before I did I spotted a curious letter waiting for me. Unlike anything I had ever seen before it was a normal letter with a flowered design but I was curious as to the cool wax that bound the letter closed. Looking closer at the wax I realized it had a symbol stamped into it when it was hot and the initial was ‘N’. At the time I didn’t think anything of it but I gathered that it could either be deranged Rochelle trying again with me or it could be another admirer.

Spelling my name wrong was a sign that it wasn’t someone that I had known well and I was ready to be surprised when I opened the letter. Reading the short thank you letter it turned out to be from Tamsen and she was showing her appreciation of my being at her 21st birthday party. I think the red wax with her initial was a great touch and I started to think “Why can’t I get a girlfriend that is smart enough, elegant enough and artful enough to think of something like this”. Placing the letter in my room I made my way upstairs to get something to eat, I had myself a shower and then I prepared to head for Campbelltown.

Too Late for the Bank

When I finally left the time was 3:30 p.m. and I was hopeful that the banks wouldn’t close up on me before I arrived. My hopes weren’t realized as I made my way to Commonwealth Bank and they were just shutting up. Asking if they would allow me in to make one transaction I was disallowed. That pissed me off. Nevertheless, making my way down the street I had other things to do, look for pants to buy. Making my way into Paul’s Sports (The big store just down from the bank) I noticed a couple of pants favoring me but none of them really suited me.

It was a hard choice and despite the range I made my way to the mall.

Bane in the Mall

The time was almost 4:30 p.m. when I was entering and as I stopped to talk to black Bane I was a bit hurried. While speaking to him he showed me his new haircut as he sat with his back to a pole. Looking lazy but aware he told me he was heading into the arcade to play games and with that I made my way to get some pants.

Tracksuit Pants at In Sport

In Sport gave me a better chance to look for what I thought would be suitable despite it being a smaller shop. When I entered there was this stupid and fairly ugly girl in there talking about a secret sport she does and how she can’t reveal it because ‘It’s her philosophy’. When she left the two guys had a laugh about how lame she was but they figured she was doing tai-chi-chuan.

Whatever it was, I found some pants that I liked from Adidas with zip up pockets and after trying them on I found them to be pretty good. Happy with what I had just tried on I bought the tracksuit pants and then was anon to head home.

Singles and an Album

Stopping off at Sanity music store I bought myself the single of ‘Fly Away’ by ‘Lenny Kravitz’. Listening to Blackstreet’s new album called ‘Finallly’ I decided it was too good an offer to pass up and bough that too. With all these things bought I only had $35 for the Gym and I felt pretty beaten but I wanted to splurge on myself and that I did. Now for the past week I haven’t been to the Gym but I’m pretty sure that I’ll begin with the new month, if only once or twice a week.

Subway Invitations Turned Down

The rest of my Monday was fairly scarce where Keith and Shawn headed over to my house to see if I wanted to head out to ‘Subway’ but you know me, it’s getting old. Simon actually came over tonight asking the same thing but once again I had more important things to do, finishing this Diary smoothly. Therefore, I watched television and the usual for Monday night and then I finally made my way onto the Diary until the early hours of the morning.

Quitting My Payment Link

I forgot to mention that I quit my payment from the link on Monday and that doesn’t worry me too much because I know I’ll survive. Although my planning hasn’t gone up to scratch I have planned it all out. You have to think that my not getting a job so far this year is a bit of a bummer. It’s been more than a year now and I feel that I’m getting knocked back because I tell the truth about my one year break.

However, I haven’t been giving my 100% effort to getting a job. There could be more interviews on my agenda but what can you do when the whole system is overrun by temping agencies. Seemingly everything is connected to them and if they don’t like you (like I’ve been shown) then you just don’t get shit. I should seriously think about taking a course in English and that way I can have an excuse and a reason to look for a part time job but right now I have no money for it.

Silence From Lyssa

Tuesday doesn’t really strike a chord in my mind despite in only being a night behind but I do remember what I didn’t receive, a call from Lyssa. It’s been since Saturday now since Lyssa and I have seen or talked to each other and I am somewhat glad that we are spacing each other with hate but then it is good when we talk. This is far from a cry out. If she wants to be angry at me because I didn’t stick around for her hairdressing appointment then so be it.

God knows I should be angrier because my whole night and weeks of thought and preparation had gone astray because I didn’t get what we both willingly went there for, a good time. I remember Lyssa saying to me while we were at the lights “Just because you didn’t get your sex, doesn’t mean you should leave me here by myself” and my thought right now is to laugh at her response.

Now I feel like responding “Well, gathering that’s what the whole night was about don’t you think I should be angry and do you really think I’m going to keep doing everything for you when you don’t do shit for me, I don’t think so..

A Tired Tuesday

The time I woke up on Tuesday was around 3:00 p.m. and I was contemplating on heading down to Campbelltown so I could get money in the bank and pay the bill but I was too tired. I do remember watching television for most of Tuesday and I don’t think I received any calls or had anyone come over.

Friends Gone Quiet

Things are really getting quiet these days when it comes to friendship. You don’t hear of Ace anymore, no Binh, Vedat, not even Ralf who is obviously planning for his move to Queensland. We don’t go out to nightclubs anymore because no one has the strength to speak out or no one can be bothered. We really are starting to be vegetables as our only source of entertainment is to head to ‘Subway’ and play cards, a novelty I can now do without. Yep, Tuesday was a slowing down of the month, a coming to an end. Today is a relatively same deed, I am once again alone and now, it has past over to April but I am not fooled.
